Release Blitz: “You Had Me at Hockey” By Author Kelly Jamison, #SportsRomance is #AvailableNow ~ #KellyJamisonAuthor #SocialButterflyPR

RELEASE BLITZ
Can a spirited, down-to-earth influencer get an uptight hockey player out of his shell?

You Had Me at Hockey, an all-new sexy sports romance from USA Today bestselling author Kelly Jamieson is available now!

Josh
I am a warrior. That’s been my motto since I recovered from a near-death accident when I was younger. Now I enjoy my nice, settled life in Dallas playing pro hockey—a boring life is better than being dead. I’m not a party guy or an adventurer; I like my routine and peace and quiet. So being traded to New York is the worst possible change that could happen. And meeting unfiltered and fascinating Sara Carrington throws my life into even more chaos.

Sara
I’ve been considered weird my whole life, which is why I’m still a virgin, but I’ve turned it into a career with my YouTube videos. Who knew people would love watching me talk about my zits, taste-test meatless burgers, and try to learn TikTok dances! Now I’m launching a podcast. Getting hockey star Josh Heller as a guest will help gain listeners for sure. I expect a bearded jock with no teeth and nothing to say, but I get a hot as H-E-double-hockey-sticks grouch with a surprisingly dirty mind. My mission to make him laugh is successful, but I want to know why he’s so uptight underneath that panty-dropping smile. Maybe I can teach Josh to have some fun . . . and maybe he can teach me a thing or two along the way. . .

Lena
I never meant to become the go-to P.R. girl for the biggest jerks in professional sports.
Unfortunately, I built a reputation for turning douchebags into superstars, and now I’m stuck.
When I’m assigned to work with a guy accused of hitting his girlfriend, enough is enough.
I know all about men like Jase ‘The Wrangler’ Rawlins, and I have the emotional scars to prove it.
Mouthy, conceited, and hot as f*ck, he’s used to getting his way.
I want nothing to do with him, but my boss makes an offer I can’t refuse.
My dreams are finally within reach, and the more I get to know Jase, the more I wonder if I’ve gotten him completely wrong.
He may be bossy and infuriating, but he’s hiding a heart as massive as his ego.
Can I let go of the past and trust the feelings growing between us when my career is on the line?
Jase
Trouble is nothing new for an MMA bad boy like me, but this time I’m in too deep and can’t get out.
At least, not without help.
That’s where Lena LaFontaine comes in.
All buttoned-up blouses and ass-hugging skirts, she’s a distraction I don’t need, but she’s also the only one who can make my problems go away.
She wants to hate me. I’m not going to let that happen.
I never expect the way I ache to taste her pouty lips and claim her for my own.
My life is on the verge of imploding, and when it does, I’m not sure if I’ll emerge as a champion or be imprisoned for a crime I didn’t commit.
I won’t drag her down with me, but when push comes to shove, I don’t know if I can give her up, either.
Fighter’s Heart is a standalone MMA romance with a cocky alpha hero and a sassy heroine who knows how to keep him in check. It has a HEA, no cheating, and no cliffhanger.

Jase
All the frustration I’ve worked off over the past two hours comes flooding back at the sight of Lena—furious expression, sassy walk, and all. Her cheeks are flushed with anger and her eyes may as well be shooting laser beams straight at me. Her lips move, but I don’t hear the words. My blood has redirected from my big head to my generously proportioned smaller one. Fuck, she’s hot when she’s mad.
She thumps me in the chest, and I scarcely notice. Her fists are tiny. She could probably punch me in the nose and not even crack the bone. Her eyes narrow, and she gets up in my face—a hard ask when she’s several inches shorter than me.
“Do you think this is funny?” she asks, jabbing me in the chest with her free hand. I glance down and see she’s holding a magazine. With a sinking sensation, I take it from her and hold it up so I can see the cover. It’s a photograph from yesterday, of me standing over Erin like a brute. The headline screams at me, and I show Gabe, then shove the magazine into Lena’s hands, sick to my stomach. I won’t read it. I already know it’s full of vitriolic bullshit, and I don’t even blame the reporter for spouting it. I handed the media a gold mine by going after Erin. I’ve made her the poster child for standing up in the face of domestic abuse, with me cast in the role of monster.
Jesus. Fuck.
Lena was right all along. This is serious.
“There are others,” she says, in case I’m holding out any hope that the story has been picked up by a lone tabloid. Closing my eyes, I mutter a stream of curses, growing more creative with each one.
“Hey, brother.” Gabe claps me on the shoulder, which nearly knocks me over since his forearms are covered by heavy kick pads. “You can get past this.” He turns to Lena. “You can fix this, right? That’s what he hired you for?”
Lena releases a long, slow breath. I can sense her hesitation, and it fuels a desperation deep within me. I worked fucking hard to get to where I am. It’s not possible that a selfish girl with a taste for the spotlight could take it away so easily, is it?
“Please.” I grab her free hand between both of mine even though she has a perfect manicure and my gloves are soaked with sweat and completely disgusting. “You’ve gotta try.”
She stares at me, some of her hostility fading, and nibbles on her lower lip. Finally, an excruciatingly long moment later, she says, “You just made my job so much more difficult. I hope you understand that.”
“I do.”
“Trust me, Lena,” Gabe adds. “He may come across as a douche, but he’s not a stupid one. He knows he fucked up.” He shucks his pads and stands shoulder to shoulder with me, the both of us facing her down. This doesn’t seem to intimidate her as it might others. It fires her up. She flicks her sexy red hair over her shoulder and gives us a single, firm nod.
“Well, okay then. Glad we know where we stand.” There’s a brief moment when I think she’s going to move on without rubbing salt in the wound. Then the moment passes. “For the record, I’ve met mushrooms with more forethought than you.”
Should have known she wouldn’t let me off so easily. I suppose if she wants to compare me to fungi, at least it’s a tasty one.
“If we’re going to do this, you need to be a whole lot more open with me. I want no-holds-barred access to your life, Jase. I ask a question, you answer it immediately and truthfully. I make a suggestion, you do everything within your power to make it happen. If you want to climb out of this hole you’ve dug, I need your complete and total commitment. Think you can manage that, fighter boy?”
“That’s fighter man to you.” I can’t resist needling her, and her face screws up the way I knew it would. “But yeah, I’ll do what you say and I’ll accept any help I can get.”
“Good.” Her lips purse, and she seems to have run out of steam. I can see her mentally switching from bulldozer mode to thinking mode, calculating our next steps, figuring out how to get ahead of this, and for the first time, I feel like maybe she’s on my side. Maybe she’s actually invested in me.
The next question out of her mouth is one I don’t see coming. “Is there any truth to Erin’s story?”
“No,” Gabe and I answer at the same time.
“Okay,” she nods, accepting our reply at face value, and I can still see the information running through her mind and being processed. She has a shit poker face, but that’s beside the point. This woman is actually listening to what I have to say and taking it on board. Is she for real?
Her belief in me—if that’s what it is—feels good. Like, unreasonably good. I want to grab her around the waist and twirl her in the air, or take her face between my palms and kiss her irresistible ruby lips. When another ten seconds pass without her saying anything snarky, I’m halfway tempted to strip her clothes off and bang her on the floor, audience be damned.
Finally, she comes to a decision. “There are some things I need to take care of. I’ll be in touch with you later.”
Her hand is still in my grasp, and I squeeze it. “Thanks.” My voice is raspy with emotion, and I cough to clear it. Goddamn it, I am not a pussy.
She studies me, and I’m not sure what she sees, but she seems to like it. “You’re welcome, fighter man.”
My lips quirk up. “You know what I think?”
She tugs her hand away and places it on her hip. “Do I want to know?”
Ah, there’s my mouthy girl. “I think you like me.” She starts to scowl, but I barrel on. “I think you care what happens to me.”
“Do not,” she says, a deep blush traveling down to the neckline of her shirt. With a complexion like that, I bet her entire body blushes, and I want to tear her blouse in half to find out. “I care about keeping my career on track.”
“Uh-huh.” I give her a cocky grin that I know will rile her more. “You tell yourself that, cutie pie.”
She huffs. “You’re insufferable.” Then she whirls around and marches away, the curve of her butt bouncing with each step.
When she’s gone, Gabe whistles under his breath. “Man, she’s something.”
I punch him in the gut, hard enough to sting but not hurt. “Eyes to yourself. She’s not here for your viewing pleasure.”
He guffaws. “That doesn’t stop you.”
“I don’t need you pointing out my hypocrisy.” I stretch my legs and shake them, refusing to analyze why the thought of anyone else checking Lena out makes me want to wrap my arm around the asshole’s throat—friend or not. “Let’s get back to training.”

Katie Clark can’t wait to get the heck out of Walton. Practically eaten alive at the end of high school, she was ecstatic to head off for college, but had no choice about coming back to make money for vet school. When her old crush, the one who put her at the center of the bullseye a few years back, starts coming around the diner where she works, it’s like he’s poking at an old wound. That is until her feelings for him begin to surface, threatening to tarnish her life-long dream. Even though she’s counting the seconds until she can leave, the idea is starting to feel as impossible as Katie thought staying would be.

Mike Russo just sold his company for a nice chunk of change and has only 11 months of consulting before he can cash that whopping final check. With one of the best coaches in the nation, and the time to finally start focusing on his dream of becoming a professional boxer, Mike is on his way. Until he falls for the woman whose life he all but destroyed in high school. Before she heads halfway across the country in a few days, how will he find a way to make things right and convince her to give them a chance?

Katie tightened her arms over her chest and felt the goosebumps on her arms. She looked out over the hills to the distant ocean. Despite her feelings about Walton, she couldn’t deny that the views here were incredible.

The sun was highlighting the deep green that shows the season starting to change. She inhaled, the evening air was filled with the scent of sun-warmed earth and greenery, threaded with a hit of salt water. Crickets mingled with the far-off hoot of an owl.
She’d dodged annoying questions and put up with small talk for twenty more agonizing minutes until Mike stood and wiped his hands on a rag he’d pulled out of his truck.
“All set.” He stood there looking all rumpled and – dammit all – ridiculously sexy. She could see exhaustion around his blue eyes and his dark, wavy hair was tousled, either from the wind or from his hand.
She had the crush of all crushes on him in high school.
Until that night.
Katie didn’t want to think about it. Admittedly, it had been hard not to stare at him while he was working on the tire. His back, the muscles rippling under his t-shirt, and his perfect ass.
Ass, yes. He’s an ass. Remember that.
She’d flushed at the sight of him more than once even though the sun was going down and it was getting colder. She coughed subconsciously into her hand, remembering her manners.
“Thank you, Mike. I appreciate it.”
“You’ll be good on the spare for a little bit, but don’t go too fast on it. You should probably put on a new tire within two or three days, depending on how much driving you do, just to be safe.”
“Yes, I know. Thank you,” God, he was exasperating, like she wouldn’t know how to deal with a spare tire. What did she expect from Mike Russo?
“So, you’re leaving in eleven days?” he asked, moving closer to her and she looked up into his face and met his cornflower blue eyes. She felt the urge to back up but stood her ground. She could feel the heat radiating from his body in the cool evening air. His smile, all nice white teeth, and perfect lips, crinkled the corners of his eyes.
Her traitorous knees went a little weak. Bad knees.
She forced her brain to remember he hadn’t even known her name. A little spark of pleasure ran through her as she remembered that he knew she was valedictorian, but she squelched it. Hard.
She stuck out her hand to shake his. “Thank you again. Good night.”
His smile quirked and he chuckled. He took her hand and shook it but didn’t let go. A current of electricity passed through their palms, tingled across her nerve endings all the way to her toes. She tried to hide the fact that it startled her as she met his eyes.
“Can I take you out before you leave? Two Walton High survivors having dinner? We’ll call it my good luck send off for you?”
“No, thank you. I appreciate the offer, but no.” Katie pulled her hand away and headed toward her car.
She reached for the door handle as guilt got the best of her. The man just spent most of 45 minutes changing her tire, even though it was clear he was utterly exhausted. He could have just called her a tow truck. She stopped as she opened the door and turned back to him.
He stood there like a Greek god, all tanned in his snug white t-shirt. Instead of ruining the effect, a few smears of dirt on his chest and a matching one on his cheek were so perfect an artist might have drawn them there. His dark hair ruffled in the wind. His hips were hugged by the sexiest pair of low-slung jeans she’d ever seen.
Who was she kidding? It was the man inside the jeans who had her attention. It was Mike Russo’s narrow waist and long legs she wanted. Had wanted since high school.
Dear Lord.
A stern voice collided with the one providing the running commentary on Mike’s appearance. Ok, he’s hot, but he’s also a jerk.
“How about I buy you dinner at Moxie’s?” Katie offered. “I’m working pretty much every night for the next week. Bring a friend. It’ll be my thank you for your help tonight.”
“It’s a date,” he smiled the crooked lazy smile that both made her feel like her panties might melt and like she wanted to smack the smug grin right off his face. Her face burned and she clenched a fist. Why is he still so infuriating?
“Whatever.” She responded breezily, aiming for casual indifference. “Thank you again, good night.”
Her stomach knotted in anxiety as she got into the car, turned on the ignition and drove off. So much for disinterest, she was still a complete wreck every time Mike Russo was around.
She tried, but she couldn’t stop herself from watching him in her rear-view mirror as the distance between them grew. He just stood there next to his pristine 1950’s Chevy, looking like some kind of -retro superhero, with the setting sun glowing behind his big, muscular chest.
She finally quit looking, but only because he disappeared when she rounded a bend in the road.

At the end of the day, Zack figures he’ll slog his way through the first week, get voted off and everyone will forget about his latest scandal, plus he’ll score a brand-new contract with the Vegas Royals.
What he doesn’t bank on is his tough, no-nonsense dance partner, Hannah Thorne from the UK. After missing the show last year due to an injury, Hannah is back and ready to battle it out to the end. She’s won the show twice and if she takes home the top prize again it will make her the only three-time champion of The Stars of Ballroom.

Zack

“You totally fucked up this time,” my manager, Greg, huffed into the phone. “What the hell were you thinking, Zack? Jesus Christ, first you get ejected from the game, then kicked out of Drai’s After Hours Club? Was it not enough to ruin the team’s last chance to get into the playoffs, you had to cause a scandal in the process? It’s all over the news, ‘Hockey’s bad boy, Zack Parker from the Vegas Royals, urinates in a potted plant. Drai’s cries foul.’ This is a PR nightmare.”
“Are you through?” I heaved, not wanting to listen to any more of his bullshit. “My head is killing me and I’m fucking tired.”
“Through?” he bellowed. “I’m just getting started. You’re lucky Drai’s only kicked your ass out and didn’t press charges. You need to make some changes or—”
“Or what?” I spat back and hurled myself out of bed to get water or whiskey, whatever I found first. “I was the Royals’ leading scorer this season. So we didn’t make the playoffs. Big deal. There’s always next year.”
“Don’t you get it, Zack? There won’t be a next year if you don’t clean up your act.”
I halted in my tracks. “What the fuck are you talking about?”
After a pause, Greg sighed. “The owner of the Royals, he’s pissed. This isn’t the first time you’ve been in the press with this kind of crap. They’re seriously considering dropping you from the team. You’re in between contracts. Last night might’ve been the final straw. What’s going on, man? What happened to you? You used to be a fighter, the king of teamwork.”
“Maybe I just don’t feel like I have anything left to fight for.”
I gave up everything for hockey. I kept telling myself the injuries, the things I missed out on, would be worth it someday. Then, my parents were killed in a car accident last year. What’s the point of playing by the rules? What’s the point of anything?
“Listen, Zack,” Greg said in a less angry tone. “I know you haven’t been yourself, but you’re going to have to help me out here. Do you want to call it quits?”
“Fuck no. What the hell would I do with myself? Although, the thought of a long off-season isn’t the worst thing in the world. I can get out of the states and party abroad where no one knows me. Finally, have some damn fun.”
“They’ve got paparazzi and camera phones abroad too. One more slip-up and I won’t be able to get you signed anywhere for next season.”
“That’s not true. Last week you said the Warriors wanted me back.”
“They rescinded their offer early this morning.”
“Jesus Christ. Fucking assholes.” I grabbed a bottle of water and flopped on the sofa. “Okay, bro, I’m all ears. What do you suggest?”
“Rehab. Now, before you curse me out, just listen. There’s a nice place in Malibu you could chill for a while until this blows over. It’ll show everyone you’re making an effort, then we can get you signed for next season.”
“That’s a hard no. The prick that killed my parents was a drunk. I’m not like him. Hell, last night was practically the only serious partying I’d done all season.”
“Well, I’ve got one more suggestion and you’re not going to like it.”
“Then, I can hardly fucking wait, hit me.”
Greg cleared his throat. “We rehab your image. I got a call from that show, The Stars of Ballroom, Marcus White had to pull out. He tore his Achilles.”
“I’m going to stop you right there. There’s no fucking way I’m going on some goofy dance show.”
“It’s not a goofy dance show,” Greg argued. “Marcus was an all-pro football player, a real athlete in his day. He said in some ways it was tougher than spring training.”
“The answer is no. I can’t believe the producers would even want me. Isn’t it a family show?”
“Yeah, a squeaky clean family show. And for the record, they didn’t contact me about you. They wanted Holmes, my other client. I had to talk them into you.”
“You’re wasting your breath, man. The Stars of Ballroom is out. What other bright ideas have you got?”
“That’s it, Zack. I got nothing else. Think of it this way, the first live show is a week from Friday and it only lasts six weeks. It’ll keep you out of trouble and in shape. I spoke to coach Gerard today. He told me if you do the show, he’ll personally go to the mat to keep you on the team. Think of the press, nothing but positive G-rated shit to get you out of this mess.”
I rubbed my forehead, pissed that I found myself in this mess. Was there a way to make the best of it? “So, what do they do? Pair me up with a hot dancer? I do love a dancer’s body. What’s my partner look like?” “She’s pretty in a refined way, not the stripper way you’re thinking about. Which brings me to my next point. You can’t fuck your partner. It’ll ruin everything. Your relationship with her has to remain a hundred-percent professional.”

I live in Las Vegas with my husband, Bill and my adopted pooches, Harley and Brownie. I still teach cycling classes. It keeps me sane-ish. Welcome to my world.

Today I killed a man I’ve always admired.

Super model fiancée, check.
Internet famous, check.
Bad boy rep, check.
Hate it all… double check.
I have worked toward the Championship since I was ten years old, doing whatever my publicist asked. I party with athletes, rock stars, models, actors, politicians— all the elite. When I walk into a room, people take notice and cheer.
But none of that makes me happy. Fame brought the followers, money, and a chance at a title, but it didn’t bring me the one thing I truly wanted. Angel.
So when she walks into my gym, a few weeks before the biggest fight of my life, I see an opportunity to show her the man behind the beast. Things don’t go as expected, though.
To get the girl, I accidentally murder a man.

Waiting on my opponent to enter the ring, I bounce and punch to keep my muscles limber. This fight is the next step to becoming a champion, years of hard work validated by the big promotors with a win. This will launch my career to another level.

My opponent’s music starts, and I look in the direction he’s entering the ring. I catch a glimpse of a woman standing with her back to me, her dress sliding up her thigh as she bends to retrieve her bag from the floor, bright red ink peaks from under the hem of her form-fitting, yellow dress as it clings to her seductive curves, teasing me with a flash of what looks like a rose tattoo.

There is something familiar about her, if only she would turn around so I could see her face. I drag my attention away from the woman to concentrate on the task at hand: winning this fight.

“You have three five-minute rounds in this match, keep it clean. Touch gloves and come out swinging.” The referee tells us when he calls his fighters to the center of the ring.

The bell dings, and it’s time to go to work. The first-round ends with me connecting with a right, left, and an upper cut. My opponent falls to the mat, his head bouncing as it hits the floor. The referee begins to count him out. The crowd roars to life as I’m announced the Superlight Weight Champion.

I scan the crowd, trying to catch a look at the red head in the yellow dress. I push away from the reporters and make my way to the side of the ring. She’s gone; the chair where she had been is empty. I’m scouring the arena to no avail.
She vanished.

Kim Debois, my expensive, pain-in-the-ass publicist wiggles her finger in the air to get my attention. She’s done wonders for my publicity, but she is a force to be reckoned with. She walks up and shoves my pretend super model girlfriend, Amber Davis, into my arms.

Luckily, I see Amber falling in my direction and reach out to catch her in the nick of time. I may not like the girl, but I don’t want her to land flat on her face in front of all these people. I can’t stand the way Amber allows Kim to manipulate her and push her around to do her bidding. As if I could ever be with someone so weak.

About Nancy

I’m a wild child trapped inside a responsible adult. I found a release for my fun loving disobedient self-inside my characters. I love tequila, dragons, and wizards. I have a collection of the mythical creatures that decorate my office.

Finally allowing myself the time to go after a lifetime dream of writing. My characters are stubborn, strong, full of emotion and cuss like sailors. (Just like me.)

I’ve always had an interest in paranormal. Reading anything and everything I can on the subject of psychics and mediums. The theory that the average human only uses ten percent of their brain has always led to the question of; What could a person be capable of if they tapped into the other ninety percent?

I enjoy meeting new people and spending time with them discussing books. If you see me online or in person be sure and say hello.

“Last time I saw you, we didn’t leave it on the best terms…”

“A bit of an understatement, I’d say.”
“Yeah well. Someone told me that the best part about fighting was the makeup sex.”
“Oh.”
“Yeah. But we don’t do that.”
“No, we don’t.” Although right now I was second guessing why the hell not. He was fucking adorable when he was nervous, and it wasn’t a side of him I saw very often.
“But I didn’t think you should miss out, so…yeah. Batteries.”
It took a second but then it hit me like a freight train. “You bought me batteries for my vibrator?”
I laughed.
I laughed so hard I snorted. And possibly peed a little bit.
“It was dumb…”
“It’s fucking genius.”

Becca is a runner. She ran from me the first day we met, and she still runs all the time—from us, from what we could be.

She tells me it’s because she doesn’t believe in love.

I tell her “Believe in me.” Because I, Lars Samuels, will rock her world and treat her like a queen.

She says, “Ha, I will never be caught.”

Good thing I’m really good at catching things. I should be. I’m the best wide receiver on the Columbus Comets football team.

I like winning. So I’m going to win her.

Once I catch her, of course.
