The Series: The Cowboys of Horse Thief Mountain

Synopsis:
Mr. Impulsive.
Rodeo bull rider Shane Nichols will do anything for a friend. So when his pal Cash’s girl is about to marry the wrong man, Shane does what needs to be done: he kidnaps the bride!
Poppy Hamilton isn’t expecting to be slung over some gorgeous cowboy’s shoulder and spirited off to a remote mountain cabin in the middle of a blinding Montana snowstorm—even if it’s only until the wedding is over. Poppy still thinks that’s a bit extreme, but she has her own reason for missing the wedding. Besides, she’s the florist, not the bride!
So much for good deeds! What’s Shane supposed to do now—snowbound with a woman who makes all his hormones sit up and take notice, who isn’t anybody’s fiancée, and who is dangerously close to stealing his heart?

My 📝Review📝: 🌟🌟🌟🌟
I found this second book of this series to be a sweet, enjoyable read. I won’t lie though, I did think at the beginning that Shane wasn’t a very intelligent character. His thoughts and actions brought me to that realization. However, once I got to experience parts of the book through his perspective, I realized that Shane was just a simple man with simple needs. He wasn’t looking for love or commitment during this time in his life. In addition, Shane was thoughtful and considerate of others as well as being a loyal friend. I believed he was a goodhearted hero. Shane was the type of character I’d love to know in real life.
Poppy had her own frustrations and vulnerabilities. While Poppy loved her father, he could be more than a bit intimidating. Poppy’s dad, while not often on the pages was a big part of the story. I won’t say why but as you read, you will no doubt, be aware of his interfering and influences.
As you will see from the blurb, Poppy and Shane meet when he mistakenly believes her to be someone else. Poppy could have stopped him by saying he had the wrong girl. However, she has her reasons why she didn’t.
This book is a safe read. There is not a lot of angst, if any. And even though the story is predictable sometimes, I enjoyed it. The Cowboy Steals a Lady was lighthearted and fun to read. I liked it better than the first book in this series. Of course, I’ll be looking out for Cash’s book next.
If you are looking for a short, sweet story to lighten your day, I recommend The Cowboy Steals a Lady. This is my honest and unbiased review and I thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂
