J.M. Walker – “There were parts of this story that even I had a hard time reading and had to put my tablet down for a breath or two. There was also a chapter where I held my breath through it all. A book has not caused these sort of feelings to stir in me in such a long time.”

Justlovemybooks.com blog – “…if you’re looking for an emotional journey, I recommend this book; it will gut you.”

“Jonah.” My name is growled.

Roman grabs my shirt when I spin around and pulls me into a classroom with no lights on. Did he not hear the sermon? We can’t be caught together. Expecting to hit the wall, I stumble into the gloomy room with Roman shutting the door behind me.

“What are you doing in here?”

He doesn’t answer me, just grips my shirt again and pushes me against the wall where we won’t be seen by anyone walking past the door and he’s pressed against me. His lips are harsh and demanding against mine. He’s pissed off, but I’m too hurt by my father’s words to be angry yet. It’ll come, but right now, my heart is heavy and broken.

Gripping his face, I kiss him back just as hard, frantic for his touch. My tongue duels with his and my teeth latch onto his lip. He growls, the rumble of it vibrating my chest. He’s pressed against me, mouth to thigh, and hard as steel. Blood pumps through my veins, filling my cock at his closeness.

He reaches for my pants, and I break our kiss.

“Roman,” I pant, my hands reaching for his wrists.

“Why do you come here?”

His question catches me off-guard. He’s still crowding me against the wall, his deep blue eyes searching my face for something, but it’s hard to think with him this close to me.

“Why wouldn’t I? I’m a son of God.”

Confusion leaves me open for his next assault. Roman’s lips crush mine, taking no prisoners. This kiss is hard, demanding, brutal. It’s exactly what I need. The pain, the desperation.

I kiss him back just as hard, biting at his lips, sucking on his tongue, ravaging his mouth. My dick aches in my pants, hard, desperate for attention. Roman’s body moves against me, his dick just as hard behind his zipper.

Reaching down, he grabs my leg and pulls it around his hip to get a better angle. His thick cock sliding against mine has my eyes rolling back into my head and he swallows my moan.

My hands grip his shirt, pushing him away from me, forcing him to let go of my lips. We stand there for a long minute, panting, not saying anything.

“We can’t do this here.” I’m finally able to get the words out.

Roman smirks that damn look that says, “I can do whatever the fuck I want.” His hands cup my ass, forcing me to grind against him. My eyes close and a groan rumbles from my throat.

“Stop,” I pant. “We can’t do this here. Not in the House of God. It’s sacrosanct. It’s wrong.”

“Does it feel good, Jonah?” Roman lips brush against my ear. “My dick against yours?”

“Yes,” I hiss through clenched teeth, pleasure overriding the common sense part of my brain.

“Does it feel right? Me touching you like this?” His teeth nip at the skin of my neck. “Huh? Does this feel perverted? Does this feel like something you can just stop wanting?”

Roman’s hand moves to the front of my pants once again, his palm pushing and stroking against my dick through my pants. My hips buck against him on instinct, wanting more.

His lips drop to mine again, shutting down all logical thought. My hands move to his hair, pulling on the gold locks he wears so proudly.

Sarcastic and snarky, I love to laugh and read dark fucked up shit. I write about tortured pasts and hot sex, a happily ever after that has to be worked for. My stories tend to be a little dark but with some comic relief, typically in the form of sarcasm.

My 📝Review📝: 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Bully King by Andi Jaxon

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

First, I’ll start off by saying that one of the heroes in this book was an awful person. The author justified why he acted like the huge jerk he was but not the way he treated Jonah. I despise bullies and despite that fact, I wanted to read this book anyway. I am a fan of this author and the way she pulls my emotions forward. She isn’t afraid to cross boundaries and put her characters in horrific circumstances then give them the happily-ever-after they deserve. Unfortunately, there was just no full redemption for me regarding Roman. While he turned things around late in the book, I couldn’t let go of the cruel things he did, or let happen to Jonah. And for that reason, I could not award this book five stars. This deduction of one star is based on how I felt during and when the book was finished. It was NOT based on the author’s writing talent. As I said, Andi Jaxon is an author that will rip my heart out and put it back together. She has the ability to make me so angry, so frustrated and so incredibly sad, as well as some happy moments. All the feels!

Jonah comes from an incredibly religious family. They just moved to town as Jonah’s father is the new pastor. There is a lot of religious references in this book. Truthfully, that didn’t bother me. We have many religious traditions in our family. That said, while people have their own opinions on the subject in this book, never is it okay, in my eyes or heart, to condemn a person for who they are. As long as they aren’t hurting people, I am accepting and welcoming. It broke my heart that Jonah was terrified to be himself. I’m not going to get into the story so you can form your own opinions. I will say that I was happier in the last third of the book and more so during the last chapters. This book is so emotional, I had to put it down for hours at a time before I could continue.

Warning…..there are triggers in this book. Talk of suicide. Tremendously cruel bullying. Violence.
Domestic abuse. The author states all intimacy was consensual however there was a time or two where I felt the lines were blurred. But that is just my take on it. Because we all have different experiences in our lives, I believe readers will have different opinions of this book. As I mentioned earlier in my review, my dislikes for the book were because of my own feelings and not the author’s writing. I’ll say this though, if you’re looking for an emotional journey, I recommend this book; it will gut you.

This is my honest and unbiased review and I thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂

#ReleaseBoost ~ “Devilishly Damaged” Series: The Shadowed Souls Series #1, by Author: Abigail Cole, Genre: Contemporary/New Adult Dark Bully Romance, Published: June 6, 2020 ~

Title: Devilishly Damaged
Series: The Shadowed Souls Series #1
Author: Abigail Cole
Genre: Contemporary/New Adult Dark Bully Romance
Published: June 6, 2020
“The sad truth is we all have our own demons to fight, no matter what life we were born into.”

After surviving a traumatic childhood, Avery Hughes’ luck finally seems to have turned around when she is adopted by a famously rich couple and their son. Her new life is one of extreme luxury and filled with more love than she believes she deserves. However, when tragedy strikes, Avery finds herself in the care of her estranged brother and his gang of Shadowed Souls. Torn between their alluring charms and the darkness that lurks beneath, Avery is forced to rely on every tactic she’s learnt over the years to evade their torment, all the while needing to protect her heart.
This is a contemporary dark bully romance which may have triggers for some as there are dark love-hate themes, intense flashbacks and bullying, sexual scenes and some violence. Not recommended for under 18’s or the faint of heart.

Unable to let her pass me whilst looking like that, I grab for her waist and spin her towards the piano. Shrieking, Avery shoves at my shoulders in panic but I settle her on the shiny black surface and hold my hands up in defeat. Guilt burns at me, knowing I’ve brought this reaction on myself and I fucking hate it. Sensing I’m not a threat, Avery eyes me curiously but keeps her posture rigid. Slowly pushing my way between her legs, my erection rests between us, showing the full affect her skimpy nightwear and gaming has had on me.
“You’ve never stopped suffering, have you?” I breathe into her ear, a resulting shiver moving down her spine. Looking deeply into Avery’s vibrant blue eyes, I’m beginning to see how similar we actually are. Like me, she’s a survivor of neglect but is still plagued by the mistreatment of our parents. Dropping my bullshit act for the first time in….I don’t know how long, I hope Avery can find the real me buried deep inside. Because God knows, if there is anything worth seeing still in there, it would be for someone like her.
Sliding a hand around the back of her neck, she tenses further and a fleeting look of worry travels across her face. “Please don’t touch my back,” she whispers, vulnerability taking up residence in her expression. Her words are a dagger to my heart, stabbing deeply and twisting. I helped to add to her pain, I held her while she was tortured all over again.
“Never again,” I promise, my lips brushing across her. I should leave. I’m an asshole that will never be worthy of her. I’ll never be able to heal her in the way she needs. But I also can’t not have her in this moment. I’m selfish like that.

Abigail Cole is a married mum of two, and serial daydreamer. As a huge fan of fantasy romance novels for the past decade, she has finally decided to put pen to paper (finger to keyboard doesn’t sound as poetic) and began to write her own.
As a child, life was moving around the UK and a short stint in the Caribbean, before Abigail has found herself back in the south east of England where she is now happily settled. With a double award in applied arts and an A-level in art history, Abigail is your average musical-loving, Disney-obsessed, jive-dancing woman with a dark passion for steamy fantasy books.

An Irresistible Force (Handymen, #2)An Irresistible Force by Rosanna Leo

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 STARS!!!
Fantastic book! I am blown away by this author! An Irresistible Force is only the second book I’ve ever read from Rosanna Leo and it is an understatement to say I am impressed. The first book in this series, A Good Man was amazing as well. That book was original and real. I know the research this author went to, to make everything flow with the subject was spot on. In An Irresistible Force, the subject research was even more obvious. This book was about the consequences of bullying and the residual effects that bleed into adulthood. Both the hero and heroine had been bullied when they were in their early teens. Everything, that the author wrote was realistic. I hate bullies. I believe we have all been bullied at some point in our lives; by family, by friends, and even by strangers. I admit, I’ve been there. Not to the extreme that is talked about in this book but it was enough to scare me. I looked over my shoulder many times. I am so thankful for the crew of friends I made during those years because they helped me see I am strong, and loved. Once my self-esteem grew, I easily brushed off the negativity and when the bullies got no reaction, they left me alone. So, anyway I just spewed all that to say I know what it feels like and my connection to the H/h is strong.

Bernie and Eli were amazing together. You knew right away there was chemistry. However, both these amazing characters had walls as tall as a fortress around them. I am not going into any details of their relationship. I will tell you this couple takes their time, getting to know one another before even a first kiss. As a reader, given the premise, I truly appreciated the anticipation because I knew when the moment came, Bernie and Eli would melt my Kindle. This book has many feels to it. Personally, while feeling a range of different emotions throughout, my strongest were empathy and anger. That said, by the last chapters I was gloriously happy the way things were happening. Every aspect of the story is realistic, yet entertaining and infinitely endearing at the same time.

I mentioned earlier that the first book in this series was amazing. While I loved that first book, I love An Irresistible Force even more. I can’t even imagine how the author will top this. The next book is Nick’s; the last Zorn brother to find his happily-ever-after. I can’t even imagine what the premise of that book will be; all I know is I will be standing in line for it. I highly recommend this series as must read. These are the books that come along only once in a while. You won’t want to miss them. Trust me. I just want to mention that while there may be triggers for some readers, the bullying was referenced in memories or discussions between the H/h throughout the story.

This is my honest and unbiased review and I thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂
