Fast paced, enjoyable read! Loved Romi and Clay!

Here’s the thing…..I love romances that are set around small towns and cowboys. I can admit that this is one on my top five, favorite romance genres. Add a sexy, sweet, protective vet into the fold and just bring on the sighs.

Fake Heart is the second book in the My True Heart series and I enjoyed it even more than the first book. Clay is the town’s only vet and to say he is busy is an understatement. The man has no time for anything other than work. He has a huge heart and will always go help an animal in need; probably more so than humans. And while he loves his job, Clay is neglecting a social life and his friends. And while he wishes he had more free time, Clay knows that isn’t likely to happen unless he makes some changes. And it isn’t until he meets Romi that Clay considers change.

Romi was a great heroine. Having to deal with the criticism of her parents regarding the life she is leading doesn’t stop Romi from making her own way. I have to admit, I didn’t much care for Romi’s superficial family. The fact that she doesn’t let their snobbery influence her only made me respect her more.

I don’t want to say too much about the story so I don’t ruin it for you. I did love the way that Romi and Clay met for the first time. That scenario says a lot about the types of characters they are. This book has a tiny bit of angst and an amazing cast of characters. The pace is steady and I was able to read this book in one sitting, uninterrupted. You do not have to read the first book in the series to fully enjoy this one. But I do recommend it. There is where you meet Clay for the first time.

Looking forward to the next in the series. I’d love to see a Christmas story out of one of the characters. That would definitely make my day.

This is my honest and unbiased review and I thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂

But even though her heart and dreams are large, the committee’s budget constraints threaten to stop her grand plans right in their tracks.

Famous metal sculptor Isaac Lieberman also loves Hanukkah. But his vision of a perfect Hanukkah isn’t a commercial community event—it’s spending time with family, following age-old traditions. He’s not interested in the festival, no matter how many times his grandmother, his bubbe, asks him to contribute one of his sculptures.

Then Sarah comes tumbling into his life…can she change his mind about more than just the holidays?

My 📝Review📝: 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Miracles and Menorahs by Stacey Agdern

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What an enjoyable and insightful read. Miracles and Menorahs was my first book by Stacey Agdern. I will definitely look into reading more of her titles. While I don’t personally celebrate Hanukkah, I loved and connected with this book. I especially loved the characters of the town of Hollowville and how most of them came together to help make the annual Hanukkah celebration a success. The author describes the small NY town in detail with such entertaining narrative that I felt truly connected to the town and the story. I loved learning about the traditions of Hanukkah in a way that I hadn’t before. This book was beautifully written and a gem for anyone who loves small-town holiday romance.

As romances go, the relationship growth between Sarah and Isaac is very slow and doesn’t culminate until the end of the book. But I appreciated the slow build because otherwise this book wouldn’t have been so realistic. There are many secondary characters that help to move the story along, each bringing a certain depth. While this book was just a touch angsty, all the characters (except one ignorant antagonist) were loyal, mature, and friendly.

As you’ve learned from the blurb, Sarah is in charge of the annual Hanukkah festival this year. While she is honored and excited to make the festival a success, there is a great deal of pressure and worry that she will fail. This year could be the last for the festival and that can’t happen. Sarah continues to work toward her goal of making sure every aspect of the festival is successful. But what would be the best offering, a giant sculpted metal menorah for the town square, may not happen.

Isaac loves Hanukkah but not the commercialism of it. He will not contribute to a festival whose goal is to only make money. Isaac is devoted to age-old traditions and this is why he refuses to help. So, you have to wonder how Sarah and Isaac even become friends. As I said earlier in my review, the characters are mature as well as charming, friendly, and considerate.

I definitely recommend this sweet story; it is sure to inspire in many ways. This is my honest and unbiased review and I that you for taking the time to read it. 🙂

All the Stars in Montana (Property Sisters of Montana, #3)All the Stars in Montana by Debra Salonen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 Stars
All the Stars in Montana by Debra Salonen is the third book in the Property Sisters of Montana series. A lot of this book takes place in California. That said, I was a bit disappointed in that because I believed the book would primarily take place in Montana. It bothered me a little that Jade didn’t want to make Montana her permanent home instead of splitting time between the two states. That aside, I enjoyed the story.

I met Jade in the the first book. From the times she was on the pages, I inferred that she would be a strong, independent character. She had goals and a strong determination to succeed. Her career was first and foremost in her mind. Even her relationship with Zach was supposed to remain casual. The more time she and Zach spent together, Jade’s feelings grew into love. But how would she make the relationship work when Zack was in California and she was constantly traveling between the two? And would Zach want anything more than casual. He has a couple of secrets and is worried how Jade will react if he tells her.

I have read this author many times before. The writing is clear and engaging and her characters are likable. This book has a bit of angst but not so much to be a nail-biter. I enjoyed the premise, and interactions between all the characters. I especially enjoyed watching Zack fall in love. The way he treated Jade was beautiful. Jade couldn’t help falling in love with him. I, myself, fell in love with Zach.

This is my honest and unbiased review and I thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂
