Once upon a time, he was everything to her, except for one thing: her future
Christmas sparkles from every bough and window at the cozy Four Winds Ski Resort, where single mother Eden Kendall and her eight-year-old son are spending the holiday. A surprise marriage proposal from her boss’s son wasn’t on her Christmas list, but it’s the perfect excuse to get away and weigh her options. She never imagined her son’s ski instructor/Santa impersonator would be the gorgeous, charismatic dreamer she left behind years ago, the one who still owns a piece of her heart.
Cole Hagan has never stopped loving Eden and he’s spent the last eight years proving her wrong on every count about his potential. While he fights to save the resort that he helped to build by organizing a holiday concert, he decides it’s about time that Eden puts aside her list-making pragmatism so that she and her skeptical son can experience the true magic of Christmas.
Can this unlikely pair get a second chance at happily ever after?
📝My Review📝: 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Lovely, whimsical second chance romance with an angelic twist. I wouldn’t actually call this book paranormal but there is a bit of spiritual influence. I enjoyed this book very much.
Eden left her hometown close to ten years ago. She not only left town, but the man who should have been her forever. Unfortunately, Eden wanted a financially secure future unlike her parents had. She worried that Cole was too much of a dreamer and left because of that, a financially secure future might not be in the cards. So, she left, made a lot of money in a job she liked but didn’t love. In addition, Eden is raising her best friend’s son. Because of that, Eden believes she made the right choice. Unfortunately, Eden will question her decisions once she runs into Cole while on a work-related vacation.
Cole is a business owner and financially secure, to Eden’s surprise. Another surprise is the fact that while spending time with Cole, Eden realizes her feelings for Cole are just as strong. Could she have made a mistake by leaving?
I won’t go into details about how Eden and Cole reconnect. This was a magical story and you should enjoy every minute of it as I did. I will add that there is some angst and a whole lot of Christmas influence.

“Deliciously steamy! Daddy Issues is an emotional slow burn romance with a fabulous swoon worthy, broken hero you’ll fall head over heels for. My favourite Liv Morris novel yet!”–Helena Hunting, New York Times bestselling author
Daddy Issues, an all-new single dad, second chance romance from USA Today bestselling author Liv Morris, is available now!
A single billionaire, a young nanny, and a surprise baby.
My life was ordered. Smooth and neat like my scotch. I had arranged relationships with a beginning and an end. No romantic attachments was my motto.
Then I met Maggie. A beautiful, young woman trying to find her place in the gritty world of Manhattan. She deserved more than a jaded man like me, so I let her walk away.
But fate stepped in and an ex-lover surprised me with a baby she claimed was mine. Desperate I hired a well-recommended nanny sight unseen. When she knocked at the door of my penthouse, I opened it to find Maggie standing on the other side.
I watched Maggie lovingly care for my child and wanted to learn to be a father to my daughter. But having Maggie so close was dangerous. She was a terrifying ray of sunshine that threatened to thaw my frozen heart.
I needed her for my child.
At least that’s what I told myself.
Until it was too late.

She’s ready to move on, and as she deals with the stresses of a holiday season and a broken arm, she realizes Ethan is always the one she’s leaned on.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
A beautiful love story. Just when you think you might never be the recipient of the most intense love, faith steps in and gives you the greatest of gifts. First I want to tell you that I read
Homecoming for the Cowboy prior to this, which is the first book in the Bad Boys of Last Stand series. While Christmas For The Deputy is a standalone, I believe my enjoyment of the book was better because I had a prior understanding of all these wonderful characters. And of course, I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
Ethan and Pen…..
These two characters were so deserving of a happily-ever-after. Each has issues from their past that they are trying to live with. The best part was when they each realized that they weren’t really living at all; just existing to please everyone but themselves. Until they understood that they could help each other. All that was needed was patience, trust, understanding and love. Of course, these emotions were not easily obtained for Ethan and Pen. My favorite part of this book were all the hurdles they had to jump to find their HEA. It was not easy. There were several angsty aspects going on at once. Pen was a very strong character and I loved her determination and the fact she never gave up, despite her emotional baggage.
There is an emotional past in both Ethan and Pen’s lives. The best part? There is a beautiful future ahead for them. I’m not going into details as this is a pretty quick read. The pace and flow of the story is steady and you’ll eat up the pages in no time.
An even better bonus? Christmas for the Deputy takes place during the Christmas holidays. If you’ve visited Last Stand via other authors of Tule Publishing, you’ll know how special this town and its residents are.
This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to red it. 🙂

Pre-Order: Once Upon A Cowboy Christmas
Billionaires, cowboys, and romance collide during the holidays in this next book in the River Ranch series!
It’s the most wonderful time of the year at the Ford family ranch. Will one cowboy’s homecoming be the greatest gift of all?
He left town and never looked back.
Cody Ford is a Wall Street honcho with humble Texas roots. This holiday season, he’d be content to just stay in New York and not face his family―and dodge their questions about when and with whom he plans to settle down. . .and if he will do so back at home. But his father isn’t getting any younger, and Cody doesn’t want to miss any last chances to see him and the rest of the folks back on the ranch. The last person Cody was expecting to see? His one-time girlfriend, Lexi Murphy, who’s been working as his dad’s new live-in nurse.
She never forgot him. Can she ever forgive him?
Lexi still holds a grudge against Cody. Back then, the college-bound heartthrob believed he was too good for a small-town girl like Lexi. But now Cody can’t help but see her in a whole new light. Could it be that this beautiful single mother with an unbeatable can-do spirit is the one he’s been waiting for all along? That depends on whether Cody can prove to Lexi that, this time, he means business―and if a sudden snowstorm can lend just the right amount of Christmas magic to help move things along.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
It’s never too early to start reading Christmas Romances, especially when there are so many and the holiday season isn’t long enough to read all the ones I want. When I read the synopsis for Once Upon A Cowboy, I was excited. Two of my favorites things are Christmas and cowboys. That said, this book had the potential to be a five star rating from me. But unfortunately, the hero was a bit too full of himself for me to love. By the end of the book I did like him, however I didn’t love him and that was a bit disappointing.
Cody moved on from the family ranch right after high school and didn’t look back unless you count the few and far between times he came to visit. He believed he had good reasons which I will not divulge to you because you should read that on your own. I will say that while I understood his reasons for staying away, I didn’t feel they were the huge drama he made them out to be. But that is just my own opinion, and one of the reasons I couldn’t fall in love with Cody. Also, I didn’t feel the connection between him and Lexi. Lexi, I loved. And on her behalf, I was frustrated with Cody. Look, I don’t want to downplay his way of thinking too much just because I couldn’t connect with him. But I can say that his situation was one that I know personally; it never would have even occurred to me to leave the way he did or stay away so long.
The synopsis for this book gives you good insight into the premise of this story so I won’t need to summarize it. You must be wondering why I gave this book four stars after reading how I didn’t like Cody. Well the answer to that is easy. The secondary characters and Lexi are who brought me entertainment and kept me turning pages. I especially adored Cody’s dad. He was such a wonderful addition to this story which takes place the week leading up to Christmas.
Cody and Lexi’s story is the third book in the River Ranch series. I have not read the previous books yet. Because I truly liked Cody’s younger brother and sister, I would like to read their books as well. In addition, there is the oldest sibling, Angelica, still to have her great love story told.
While this was my first book by this author, I would like to read more from her. Even though I wasn’t a fan of Cody, I enjoyed the author’s talent for storytelling; she kept me engaged in the story and that is all I need.
This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂
