From the internationally bestselling authors of THE ILLUMINAE FILES comes an epic new science fiction adventure.

The year is 2380, and the graduating cadets of Aurora Academy are being assigned their first missions. Star pupil Tyler Jones is ready to recruit the squad of his dreams, but his own boneheaded heroism sees him stuck with the dregs nobody else in the Academy would touch…

A cocky diplomat with a black belt in sarcasm
A sociopath scientist with a fondness for shooting her bunkmates
A smart-ass techwiz with the galaxy’s biggest chip on his shoulder
An alien warrior with anger management issues
A tomboy pilot who’s totally not into him, in case you were wondering

And Ty’s squad isn’t even his biggest problem—that’d be Aurora Jie-Lin O’Malley, the girl he’s just rescued from interdimensional space. Trapped in cryo-sleep for two centuries, Auri is a girl out of time and out of her depth. But she could be the catalyst that starts a war millions of years in the making, and Tyler’s squad of losers, discipline-cases and misfits might just be the last hope for the entire galaxy.

They’re not the heroes we deserve. They’re just the ones we could find. Nobody panic

📝My Review📝:

Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff have done it yet again and I am hooked. These two really know how to write epic science fiction novels. This book was different from the Illuminae Files due to the fact that it is actually written in prose (we have words!!!). I was worried that I would not like this one as much due to that but boy was I wrong. Aurora Rising is told in 7 first-person POV’s and it is about a squad of misfits and dregs. Tyler Jones (the Alpha) is the star pupil of Aurora Academy and because of that he has first pick of the draft for choosing his teammates. Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances he misses the draft and is left with a squad of members that no one else wanted: Scarlett (the Face), his twin sister who is good at what she does but doesn’t really apply herself, Cat (the Ace), his best friend who is the best pilot in the academy who may or may not be crushing on him, Finian (the Gearhead), a crazy smart tech whiz but a grade A asshole that no one wants to deal with, Zila (the Brain), one of the smartest students in the academy but a sociopath who has an affinity for shooting people with blasters, Kaliis (the Tank), a sexy space elf warrior with serious anger management issues, and then there is Aurora, the girl out of time. For my review I’ll start with the critiques, then talk about the characters, discuss the overall plot, and lastly my final thoughts.

Critiques: There was some lull moments in the book where it would get a little slow. Well it was one part in particular (the middle) that got a little slow. Some things were a little confusing, there is a lot going on and it is easy to get lost if you are not paying full attention. The characters were not the same from different people’s POV’s. For example I loved Aurora while reading from her POV but she was different when I read from the other characters POV’s. Lastly I hated Aurora’s way of cursing. “Holy cakes” and “mother custard” just don’t so it for me. It would make more sense if we knew she was a baker or something like that but we don’t know that. Other than these minor things there was nothing else bothersome.

Tyler: I did not hate him like I thought I would. He is the leader type who always follows the rules and never strays from authority. He was like that but he grew as a character and changed to a more “making it up as I go along” type character. He wasn’t perfect and he wasn’t the best at everything on his team. It really showed his humanity. So I am happy that he wasn’t “frat boy esc” because I was really expecting that. He was a really great leader and he took what he got and turned it into a beautiful companionship amongst the squad.

Scarlett: I loved her. She is the queen of talking herself into and out of situations. She speaks so many languages fluently but most importantly, my favorite, is sarcasm. While she can be seriously sarcastic and bitchy she really has such a heart of gold. She cares and understands her squad mates so well. It is so refreshing to see a character be two sides of the same coin.

Cat: The badass tomboy of the group. I feel like the most focus on romance in this book was in her POV due to her crush on Tyler. Though it was mentioned a lot it never impacted her decisions or loyalty which I respect a lot. Her jealousy towards Aurora was pretty annoying (especially since nothing was happening between Aurora and Tyler) and I am not a fan of girl hate. But towards the end Cat grew and got over that and she really started to care and believe in Aurora. Han Solo better watch out because I’m pretty sure Cat Brannock is the best pilot in the galaxy.

Finian: MY LOVE. MY KING. MY SWEET BOY. WE PROTECT FINIAN DE KARRAN DE SEEL IN THIS HOUSE. So I love Finian…if you couldn’t tell. He was a sarcastic ass but that is how I like my YA characters. My favorite running line in the book never got old, “Shut up Finian.” It really sums up his general effects on the squad. Finian is also disabled so there was disability rep in this book. He never let his disability prevent him from doing what everyone else was doing. He wears an exosuit over his body to help his mobility. Despite being unwanted by the rest of the academy he really proved why he was one of the best.

Zila: I adored her. We don’t get much of Zila in this book but that is due to her personality. We are told she is a sociopath but I feel like there is more going on there. Sherlock Holmes is a sociopath but he has more personality than Zila. She is quiet and reserved and only speaks when necessary. I want to know more about her. I suspect/ wonder if she is autistic because she reminds me of Zofia from The Gilded Wolves whom we are told is that. I don’t want to diagnose Zila but I am eager to learn more about her. Plus she is a fashion icon and that is not appreciated enough.

Kal: Ah I love me a good sexy space elf warrior. Imagine Legolas on steroids and you’ve got Kal. I have read plenty of books about fae and the general lore about them (thank you Sarah J. Maas and Holly Black) so it was funny to see it implemented in a space story…or should I say space fantasy. I won’t spoil it but there is a big fae plot point that was in this book that I am LIVING for. We see Kal fighting himself a lot in this book. He is Warbreed so he was born for bloodshed and violence. He calls that inner bloodlust “the enemy within.” He fights himself to be a better person and to stay in control no matter how hard it was for him and I loved that. I look forward to seeing more of him in the next book and his relationship with a certain character…

Aurora: I honestly kept picturing Aurora as being very Captain Marvel like. She really is much more Scarlet Witch but since this is in space I was picturing Captain Marvel. So combine those two and you get Aurora. Plus a slice of Captain America for being a person out of time. Aurora was asleep for a little over 200 years and she is freaked out to find what the world…universe has become. Aurora kind of represents the reader. She makes so many modern (to us) references that the other characters don’t understand but we do. She kept calling Kal Legolas and I was living for it. She has lost everything and doesn’t understand what is happening to her but she keeps on plowing through. I can’t wait to see her powers grow.

The overall plot was great. It jumped around to different goals but there was an overall goal of helping Aurora. There was so much action and the plot was pretty unique. We have seen squad books before but I really felt like this was something new. Each member of this squad had a distinct personality that set them apart from each other. Also we had the added benefit of space so that’s cool too.

I absolutely loved this book so I don’t know how I can possibly wait a whole year for the next one. I fell in love with all these characters so anything that happens to them will effect me greatly. I am worried that since we made it out clean (sort of) in the Illuminae Files that we won’t be so lucky this time. Wish me luck!

“Get up,
The bark of
his order made the woman flinch, and she began to unwind, as though forcing
herself to relax. Her body uncurled, and she pushed herself into a sitting
position, wiping dust from her face and hair. She looked helpless. How ironic,
given what her ancestors had done to him and his kind.
Her lovely
gray eyes—yes, even he could admit that much about them—shone like the hull of
the Orion. Pure. Beautiful. When her
gaze finally settled on his face, her eyes darkened. Like the Scar on Jupiter,
they clouded and churned.
“You.” She
let out a whisper, only audible to him. She shoved herself to her feet and
wobbled unsteadily before regaining her balance. Did she recognize him?
“Under the
regulations of the Sol Patriation Act as set forth by order of the Galactic
High Council, you are hereby detained by the Silver Legion. You will be
returned to Terran space, where you will spend the rest of your days in the
service of the Terran Colony Fleet. Ensign, restrain her.”
The moment
Julian took a step toward her, she swung a fist at him. He easily caught her
wrist and twisted it until her legs buckled, and she fell to her knees at his
feet with a cry of pain.
“Why did
you think that would work?” Julian asked.
The woman
gasped, face still ravaged with the pain of his tight hold.
He leaned
in closer, anger growing. “I’ve been fighting tougher opponents than you for
three hundred years. I once took down a gorg with my bare hands. Why did you
think such a feeble attack would succeed?”
The woman
shut her eyes, wincing with pain as she took a deep breath.
“Answer me,
freeborn,” Julian demanded, gripping
her more forcefully.
Ronan was
about to tell Julian to stand down when she struck, driving her other fist into
Julian’s groin. He cursed as he released her. The woman dove past a shocked
Alanna and ran for the door. Ronan aimed his pulse gun and fired, striking her
between the shoulders. She went down hard, head smacking into the floor.
The control
room went silent, except for the electric drone of computers, as Ronan walked
over to the unconscious woman. A cut above her left eye from where she’d hit
the floor was dripping blood onto the deck.
An emotion
wormed its way to his chest. Pity. He
pitied this woman. She was so frail, so breakable, like the rest of her doomed
people. And yet she was brave enough to evade him and his team, even if the
attempt was ultimately futile. It was a pity that freeborns had so many
failings. It ruined the few strengths they had.
Ronan knelt
and slid one arm behind her back and one behind her knees to lift her up in his
arms. He carried her body to his chest and walked back to Alanna and Julian.
“Have the
boarding party return to the ship,” he said to Alanna. “Notify the commander
that we are returning to the Orion.”
He then looked at the Nubran captain. “We have acquired your ‘stowaway,’
Captain. I have no further interest in your vessel. You may resume your

to the human’s face. “Please, don’t go hard on her. She is a nice person.

groaned. “I beg to differ.”
frowned, her amber eyes darkening. “You would have done the same in her
position. Any one of us would.”
“What’s your point, Captain?” Ronan asked in irritation.
“My point
is that she is undeserving of whatever fate you have in store for her. I would

Zore’s head
dropped, and she looked away. “You have the law on your side, and I have
complied, but if you cannot see that justice must be tempered with wisdom, then
there is nothing left to discuss. I will thank you to leave my ship in peace.”
“As you
wish. Safe journey, Captain.” Ronan nodded to his subordinates, who flanked him
as he left the control room and returned to the Orion, his prisoner still
in his arms.
Commander Alaric Corvus stood waiting for them on the other end
of the airlock. His eyes zeroed in on the prisoner.
“So, you
were right. You did see a woman on board,” Alaric mused. At two meters in
height, he was slightly taller than Ronan, but he held an air of command about
him that made him seem more solemn than the rest of the crew. A silver star sat
on both of his epaulets, but with his service record he could easily have three
if he desired. He was one of the first cyborgs to command a warship, and one of the leaders of the Cyborg Rebellion three hundred years ago.
“She gave
us a bit of trouble.” Ronan tilted the body in his arms so the woman’s head
rolled away from his chest and toward the commander. The wound above her eyes
had caked and clotted.
“Doctor, we
need you,” Alaric called over his shoulder. A woman appeared from the group
that had gathered around the airlock. Dr. Valeria
Schedar was the Orion’s chief medical
officer. She wore the uniform of the Legion, only with a silver caduceus on
her shoulders instead of a rank insignia. Her long blonde hair was pulled back
at the nape of her neck and bound with a strap.
“Minor head
trauma… Stunned with a pulse gun, I take it?” Valeria reached to take the
woman’s body from Ronan.
He felt a
strange urge keep her in his arms. Valeria looked up at Ronan and sensed his
reluctance. Her lips curved in a soft, understanding smile.
“She won’t
require a stretcher. Bring her to the infirmary. I still have to tend to her
wounds.” Valeria headed for the sickbay, and Ronan followed. He felt his
commander’s eyes on his back the entire way. He wasn’t behaving abnormally, was

waved at the room as she searched for her instruments. “Anywhere is fine.”
The metal
surface of the nearest medical exam table gleamed in the artificial light,
looking cold and hard. Ronan had no desire to place the woman on that.
“Do you
have something to lay on the bed to cushion her?”
chuckled. “Haven’t you been here since the refit?”
“I rarely
need to come here.”
“Just lay
her down and press the panel next to the bed, where it says ‘New Patient.’”
Ronan did
so. As soon as he pressed the button, what he’d assumed was a metal surface

body, plus provides readings of basic body functions.” She pointed to the
diagnostics panel above her head, which now lit up with her heart rate, pulse,
and brain activity.
“I should
have guessed.”
“Well, as
you said, you rarely need to come here.”
attention returned to the prisoner. His fingers threaded through her hair. The
chestnut strands felt like watered silk. A frisson of pleasure went through
him, and he felt a surge of reluctant tenderness for her. That tenderness
quickly turned to anger, then into something else. He pictured her looking at
him not with fear but desire, and that desire being returned in kind. What
would he do if…?
He blinked,
Valeria’s call jarring him back. He shook his head and controlled himself.
“What?” His hands were still deep in the soft coils of the freeborn’s hair. He
freed his hand of the strands that clung to his fingers.
“You can
daydream inappropriately on your own time, not mine. I need to wake her.”
Valeria cleaned the prisoner’s head wound and covered the cut with a clear
cream, which disappeared as it was absorbed. “She probably has a concussion. I
need to make sure she didn’t suffer from any other injuries during her journey,
and for that I’ll need to wake her.”
“Fine. Do
it.” He waited as the doctor injected her with a serum that would pull the
prisoner back into consciousness.
The woman’s
lashes fluttered, and then her gray eyes, fogged with pain and confusion,
locked onto his and held.
“You,” she
gasped. Again she’d said that.
“Me,” he
agreed. He forced himself to scowl, though part of him found her bewilderment
amusing. But she was not a source of humor. Despite how she appeared, she was
the enemy. He could never forget that.

📝My Review📝:

Did I finish this entire book in less than a day? Yes…yes I did.

Where do I even begin? Amazing. I cried, laughed, and cried some more over this book and I am so happy with it. The plot was great and not at all what I was expecting. I am so happy with everything that happened even though it was a classic bittersweet Marie Lu ending. I waited an entire year for this book and I was not disappointed at all. The stakes were so high in this book I could not put it down.

Emika and Hideo are some of my favorite protagonists. It was good to see her struggle with her feelings for Hideo because it made everything more realistic. She still cared about him and she fought to get to the boy she loved inside. Hideo totally redeemed himself in this book. I always understood his reasons behind why he did what he did but it’s a fine line and a tricky subject to debate.

I still wish there was more of Asher, Hammie, and Roshan. They were there but noticeably absent. Speaking of, Ren wasn’t in this book at all. I was really curious to see what would happen with him but I guess his story arc ended after he got arrested in Warcross. I would have loved to know how he joined up with Zero in the first place. Tremaine played a pretty significant role in this book and it was nice to see his character grow from Warcross.

Zero/ Sasuke was such an interesting character! I didn’t see any of the twists that happened with him. He deserved so much better. Jax was also an interesting new character. If it wasn’t for her everything probably would have gone even worse than it did. Her character always seemed so lonely, probably due to her upbringing. She was a total badass though no doubt about it.

Wildcard can be described in one word: wild. Everything was so crazy in this book but that is what made it so enjoyable. I never knew what turn the plot was going to take. I loved everything about this book. Marie Lu will always be one of my favorite authors and reading this book really solidified that.

📝My Review📝:

Marie Lu does it again, she makes me fall completely in love with her books then tears my heart out of my chest. I loved everything about this book from the characters to the world. I have never read a book like Warcross, it is so unique and something new in the vast lands of YA literature.

The characters made this book shine even more. Emika was a brilliant and badass main protagonist. Asher, Hammie, and Roshan were amazing side characters, my only critique is that I wanted more of them! Now that leads me to Hideo *swoon alert.* I am really in love with that man, don’t worry Emika you are not the only one suffering now. Hideo was sweet, charming, funny, smart, kind, LITERALLY EVERYTHING.

I’m not going to lie, I did predict a lot of the plot twists but that did not lessen my enjoyment of this book at all.

I am so excited to see where this story goes and what Sasuke is going to be like outside of his Zero personality. I also can’t wait to see Emi and the gang kick some ass in the sequel!

Title: Close Encounters of the Sexy Kind
Author: Jessie Lane and Abbie Zanders
Genre: Sci/fi Romance
Release Date: April 17, 2018

Destiny’s not just for Earthlings…

Detective Ryan Winslet is a by-the-book kind of girl. The one and only time she allowed her personal feelings to cloud her judgement, the results were devastating. Now she’s getting a chance to make things right, but a certain sexy nightclub owner is muddying the waters.

Tiberius Maximus isn’t the first Aequorian prince to be exiled to Earth. Like his ancestors, he came, he saw, and he conquered. He’s vanquished his enemies, gained a fiercely loyal family, and runs an incredibly successful nightclub that might push a few legal human boundaries. The only thing he doesn’t have is the life mate he so desperately craves – until a salty blonde saunters into his club one night.

When the no-nonsense detective meets the exiled prince, their chemistry is off the intergalactic charts. Tiberius is convinced she’s the one for him, but Ryan’s not taking the bait. Sure, he’s über hot and seems like a great catch, but he’s also involved in some fishy business and thinks he’s from another planet.

Should she follow her head and throw him back? Or follow her instincts… and her heart… and jump into the deep end?

Tiberius sat back and sipped his drink, content to observe. It was amusing to watch the females compete for Donny’s attention. They flirted openly, made lewd suggestions, and sometimes even managed to grope him when he got too close. None of them realized, apparently, that Donny was in a happy, committed relationship with Jay. Donny’s flirtatious behavior was nothing more than his natural, outgoing joie de vivre. The eager females would receive nothing more than a friendly smile and excellent service in exchange for their generous tips, for it was only Jay he sought out at the end of every shift.

Tiberius was in the process of raising the glass to his lips when a voice cut through the din and rang like a crystal bell in his head. “Thanks, but no thanks. And just so you know, I’m a cop and she’s my best friend. If you so much as hurt her feelings, I will be back here, and not for a social call, get me?”

The voice set his nerves and loins tingling. He scanned the crowd, searching for the source.

“Everyone should have such fierce friends. She is in good hands with me, I assure you.” That was from Quintus.
“She’d better be.”

Tiberius stood, his heart thundering in his chest, his mind whirring at tornadic speed. There! He spotted Quintus first, tall and dark, his head bobbing above the majority of shorter humans as he moved away. And there, where he had been, a golden-haired female swathed in blue.
As if drawn by an unseen force, he moved toward her. A fierce, possessive need washed over him. He needed to get her away from the lascivious interests of the worked-up crowd.
Never before had he had such an instant and all-consuming reaction to the mere sight of a woman, in this realm or any other. Dare he hope that his prayers had been answered?
The odds were astronomical, yet his soul cared not. Neither chance nor logic entered into the equation. If the gods had decided to bless him with a mate, then they would also ensure their paths crossed at a location and timing of their choosing. Why not here? Why not now?

He stopped only a short distance away. She was looking in the other direction.
He took a moment to rake his eyes over her. Loose waves of golden silk cascaded over curves that made his mouth water. She was smaller than he had originally thought, barely reaching his neck, even in heels.
As if sensing his presence, she turned. Big, blue-green eyes, the perfect color of an Aequorian sea, widened as her gaze rose upward. He couldn’t help feeling pleased when her skin flushed a lovely shade of pink and her lips parted slightly. With his superior senses, he could hear her heart speed up and feel the heat radiating from her body.

“Oh,” she said.

Oh, indeed.

They stared at each other for a long moment, until the spell was broken when an overexuberant patron plowed into her back, pushing her forward, right into Tiberius’s waiting arms.

Energy coursed through his body, firing every nerve and lighting him up from the inside out.
“I’m so sorry,” she said, righting herself.

He wasn’t. It took every ounce of discipline he possessed not to pull her right back into his embrace.
When another surge of the crowd threatened, he placed his hand on her lower back and firmly but gently guided her out of harm’s way. “May I purchase a beverage for you?”
She blinked then shook her head slightly as if to clear it. “Thank you, but no. I was just leaving.”

Leaving? No, he couldn’t allow that. Not until he knew more about her and this inexplicable pull she seemed to have on him.

“Why unacceptable?”

“Because I have only just found you.”
“Does that line usually work?”

“I do not know. You are the first woman to whom I have spoken those words.”

Her eyes softened, then she cleared her throat. “Oh, you’re good.”
He grinned. “Does that mean it is working?”
She laughed, the sound filling his chest with light. “Kind of, yeah. But I really was just leaving. This”—she waved her hand around her—“isn’t really for me.”
“Then perhaps you will allow me to suggest a quieter venue, one where we may talk and get to know each other. There is a small eatery just down the street. I have been told it is quite good.”

She considered him for a moment then nodded. “Yeah, okay. Why not?”

Title: Taming the Alien Warriors
Series: Intergalactic Lurve Book 3
Author: Rie Warren
Genre: Sci-Fi Alien Warriors M/M/F Romance
Release Date: April 9, 2018
If two cocks are better than one, then M/M/F-alien-human-ménage must be a triple-treat.
Dex and Jedrek are famed Zenithian warriors of the Valkrane class. Close friends and comrades for decades, the two males tough it out on the training grounds, share living quarters, and even take the same females to bed. But now, newfound lust for Dex has consumed Jedrek for months, and he’s about to make the male his latest conquest.
Enter Laurel. Sweet, human, female, but far from oblivious. For years, the massive pair of warriors have maintained careful distance while making sure no others take advantage of her maiden charms. And Laurel’s about fed up with them cock-blocking her.

When new danger descends on Zenithia, Jedrek, Dex, and Laurel are thrown into close quarters, which only ignites their three-way lust to boiling point. Just as ultimate intergalactic love seems within their reach, the plot against humans on Zenithia reaches its deadliest endgame.
The doors slid closed behind Jedrek, and he immediately unbuckled his chestplate. With a twist of his brawny bronzed shoulders he shrugged free, leaving his torso bare.
I inhaled shakily, exhaled slowly. “I thought you liked females.”
“I do.” With a prowling gait, he advanced. “But I like you best.”
His pronouncement made my cock leap to attention.
I stepped back. “In that case I guess I should admit I have been hearing a rumor.”
He lifted one eyebrow, continuing to stalk toward me. “Indeed?”
“That you’re going to fuck my ass.”
He leaped at me, driving me against one of the softly glowing walls. “I can’t wait to get my cock,” his hands reached for my thighs beneath the kilt then roamed higher, “in this tight . . . hot . . . ass.”
The moment his broad palms cupped my bare ass, his mouth lowered over mine.
No chance to retreat, no place to retreat to, and no thoughts of running, I groaned harshly.
Jedrek’s kiss was fiery and fierce. His tongue plunged straight into my mouth, and I retaliated. Grabbing hold of his short hair with my fingers, I twisted his head, darting my tongue around his.
The feel of a man’s firm lips so different. Hot as hell. Rough, not gentle at all.
Breaths gusted from our nostrils, and the warm wetness of his mouth alone took my straining cock to the very edge of release already.
Grunting, Jedrek broke away only to lash his tongue along my neck to my shoulder, swirling over the ropey tendons with slow wet swipes.
And then his hand was on my cock.
My head coiled back. “Fuck. Jedrek.”
Sensation exploded beneath the rough feel of his palm stroking the full length all the way to the ripe head, which he ran his hand around and around.
I shuddered, almost collapsing. No other man had ever fisted me before and the rawness of it set my pelvis pumping in rhythm with his sliding hand.
“Can’t believe I’m finally touching you,” he muttered against the side of my neck, rubbing his cheek against my beard.
“More,” I begged.
“You need more?” He nipped my chin then pulled back, taking his hand from my iron-hard flesh.
I’d never known Jedrek to tease, to be so sexual. My body vibrated as hot jolts of need pounded through me.
“Well, I need you naked,” he said.
He whipped off my kilt then rid himself of the rest of his garb while I shucked out of the chestplate. Hard naked bodies crashing back together, our tongues twined and our mouths twisted.
All his bare flesh pressed against me, and his large cock rubbed right alongside mine, another entirely foreign sensation.
My dick pulsed, and I slipped my hips up and down, rocking the whole solid length against the barrel of cockmeat rising rigid from his groin.
I palmed his buttocks, yanking him as close as possible, invading his mouth with my tongue to taste him more fully.
Jedrek drew his mouth away, eyes hooked low to watch our two dicks slipping together.
The sight of both big cocks was insanely hot, sandwiched between two armor-hard abdomens.
“I can’t wait.” Falling to his knees, he dragged his lips all the way down my torso and over the ridges of my stomach.
“What are you . . .”
He peered up at me with half-mast eyes, his tongue rolling out to dab the bead of liquid welling from the bulbous tip of my staff. “I want you to feed me your cock.”
His words were so hot I could’ve shot off right then and there. But it was the feel of his long wet tongue caressing the dome of my dick that pulled a terse grunt from my throat.
Dipping lower, Jedrek licked all over my heavy balls.
My palms flew to the wall, slapping against the smooth surface as riotous heat shot from my groin outward.
He slurped loudly, wetting my entire sac. “Mmm. Yeah. This is what I needed, Dex.”
Breath rushed out of my heaving chest. “Fuck. Why did you wait so long to do this?”
“Didn’t want to scare you off.” He kissed the base of my cock before pulling slightly back. “Now I want you to fuck my face.”

My Review:

Claiming Their Mate: a Sci-Fi Alien Dark Romance (Tharan Warrior Menage Book 5)Claiming Their Mate: a Sci-Fi Alien Dark Romance by Kallista Dane

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Stars to Claiming Their Mate: A Sci-Fi Alien Dark Romance (Tharan Warrior Menage Book 5) by Kallista Dane.

Where do I start? First, I want to say this is my first book by Kallista Dane AND my first Alien romance of this nature. I admit that I found a few parts of this book weird and creepy but I quickly got over my bit of disgust. My reasoning is that I haven’t read anything like this before and wasn’t sure what to think. After the first couple of chapters I understood where the author was going. By that point in the text, I was intrigued and impressed. You have to have one heck of an imagination to write like this. Kallista Dane created this whole world and stuck to it throughout the book. She had every base covered and I finished this book with no questions regarding what certain things meant.

As I said, after the first couple of chapters, I was quickly engaged, hanging on every word. In addition, because of this trope, I couldn’t begin to guess what would happen. This book is part of a series of sexy alien twins. Unfortunately I started with book 5 so I didn’t know some of the secondary characters who were from previous titles. That said, I had no trouble following along.

With this genre, the author can take many liberties with the story. It is her world. I found that strangely refreshing. And who doesn’t love a menage with two sexy, seven feet tall, muscular, gorgeous, alpha, protective, possessive twins? 😉

I won’t give you a summary because the synopsis does a good job of that. I can say that I liked the main characters a lot. They had good chemistry and the book had great tension and angst. I experienced a mix of emotions throughout the story. This book had a good pace and I easily read it in one sitting. And if you are wondering, the intimacy was smoking hot; some of the sexiest scenes I ever read.

That said, if your a fan of this series already, I have no doubt you will devour this book. If you are new to this author and her alien series as I was, you will really enjoy it as well.

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂
