The Sheriff's Baby Bargain (Angel Point, #1)The Sheriff’s Baby Bargain by Susan Lute

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh, wow!
I just loved this book! While some of the story was a little predictable, there were original elements that were new to me. I honestly thought the ending might go a bit different from how it actually did. And while that was just a teeny bit disappointing, I found after reading the last page, that I couldn’t have been happier that Gabe and Taylor found their happily-ever-after. I finished this book several days ago and this couple, this book is still on my mind.

All the characters in this story added more complexity and enjoyment for me. Especially Daisy and Rose. And while there were plenty of secondary characters, that fact did not take the spotlight away from Gabe and Taylor. The synopsis of this book does a good job letting you know what to expect but the talent in which this author weaved this story made The Sheriff’s Baby Bargain so much more. There was some angst, suspense and even some guessing on my part. I don’t want to say there are dark elements to this story, but there is a bit of a cloud shadowing all the happy. As, I mentioned, I wasn’t 100% sure how this book was going to end. But I’m so pleased with how it did.

This is the first in the Angel Point series. I am so in love with this small, enchanting town and I can’t wait to see what comes next. I definitely recommend this sweet romance!

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂

Happy couple under the rain

I might be the one who swore an oath to save lives, but they saved me…

Saving lives isn’t just my job, it’s my whole world. Working eighteen hour days, I live in the hospital, running from patient to patient until I encounter a mysterious woman who stops me in my tracks. Afraid of her own shadow, I quickly diagnose that not all of her injuries are physical and the helpless look in her eyes turns my world upside down.

I follow up with her, trying to convince myself that my actions are that of a concerned doctor. But it’s more than that… turns out there is more to her as well. She’s a single mom, and the fear in her eyes isn’t just for herself, but for her amazing daughter. Before I even realize what’s happening, I’m determined to save them both and it has nothing to do with oaths or medicine. First, she will have to trust me. Not just with her life, but her heart.

** TRIGGER WARNING: This story contains mention of physical and emotional abuse. Although no abuse takes place during the story it is described, at times, in detail. **

📝My Review📝:

Save MeSave Me by A.J. Alexander

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was so intense and emotional. The characters were amazing, and I just adored Sophie!

Recently, I read my first Andi Jaxon novel and loved it. So much so that I will be adding some of her books to my summer reading list. With the exception of holiday romance, summer reading is my favorite time of the year. It’s the one time I promise myself to knock off books from my TBR, and read for pure pleasure. Not that I don’t do that already, but being a blogger/reviewer, I read many ARCs. Oh, please don’t misunderstand because I love to read for authors however, I like to just kick back and read my own selections too. Hence, one reason why I look forward to the summer.

That said…..This was my first collaboration read from Andi Jaxon and AJ Alexander. I know, right? Where have I been hiding? Under a rock, apparently. Nevertheless, I am so happy I read this book. Now I can’t wait to read an exclusive AJ Alexander novel.

This book was, for me, a darker read than I am used to. I’ll be honest, I avoid books with heavy physical abuse. (*please note, if you read the blurb that you already know that the majority of physical abuse is talked about but not actually on the pages) It breaks my heart too much. But this book came across my blog and after reading the blurb, I just knew I had to read it. Both authors did a great job at weaving this story, making it believable and giving us a well-deserved happy ending. Yes, karma is a queen not to be messed with!

I’m not going to give away any details. Not even the smallest hints. This is a book that you need to go into without too many spoilers so you can appreciate everything good that happens. It will only make the ending so much sweeter. I will tell you that the secondary characters (well not all of them) were charming and and added not only depth, but some humor to a story that is angsty and intense.

I recommend this fast-paced read. As I mentioned earlier in my review, I am looking forward to reading more from both of these authors, exclusively and collaboratively.

This is my honest and unbiased opinion. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂

Introducing book 2 in the Bishop Brothers series! A steamy new southern romance series by USA Today Bestselling author duo, Kennedy Fox!

Evan Bishop is your typical hotshot doctor.
Hardass, brooding, and all business.

Instead of working on the family ranch, Evan broke the mold and became an ER doctor.
He’s good with his hands—in more ways than one—smart as a whip and is the definition of God’s gift to women. Being a gentleman is in his Southern roots, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t flawed. Exclusive dating has never been a top priority and his tragic past makes him stay at arm’s length. Deciding to let loose for a wild night, he takes a page from the Bishop brother’s relationship book and hooks up with a mysterious girl he’ll never have to see again, which is perfect for this self-proclaimed bachelor.

When she agrees to attend a wedding as a plus-one, she’s soon ditched and left to drink solo—but not for long. Mr. Suit is the ultimate temptation with his Southern charm, messy blond hair, and irresistible sex appeal. Everything about him screams bad news, but he makes her reconsider her rules just for one night.

After all, some rules are made to be broken.

Needing Him (Bishop Brothers, #2)Needing Him by Kennedy Fox

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Stars

Another winner from this amazing author duo!
This second book in the series was just as amazing as the first. These Bishop brothers are so sexy, flirty and intense. When they love, they love hard! 100% panty melters! 😉

This is Evan and Emily’s story. I loved Emily from the beginning. Evan? Well he was a bit harder to like. He was arrogant and rude and there were times I wanted to smack him, lol! Don’t worry because it isn’t long before you’ll love him. He has a couple of issues that made him the way he was. And while I absolutely hated the way he treated Emily at the beginning of the story, you already knew he was lost to her. It was inevitable. Their chemistry was very strong and intense. Their love/hate relationship quickly turns to a smoldering, intense love. Evan is very protective and possessive. He will do what it takes to protect Emily. And she needed his protection just as much as his love. Evan was an amazing hero and he was so perfect for Emily.

I loved everything about this book. Everything! While Evan and Emily are floating through their own story, we are gifted with fun and antics from the rest of the Bishop family. John and Jackson are the other Bishop brothers waiting for their own stories. I’m totally endeared to this series and can’t wait to read those two books.

The suspense in this book unravels steadily. There is some mild violence and angsty moments that will continuously keep you engaged and eager for what happens next. I am a fan of Kennedy Fox and haven’t read anything of theirs that I didn’t love. That said, while the Bishops are hard working, sexy, loyal cowboys, Evan is even more. He is a doctor and and while that is is first priority, he still works at his family’s ranch helping out on his days off. Evan is a loyal, passionate hero who works hard and loves harder. Oh, and in case I didn’t mention it, Evan is a sexy, dirty talking alpha as well.

I loved watching Evan and Emily work for their HEA and I believe you will too.

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂

Take one dose of a sexy physician, mix with an angsty pharmacist, and insert undeniable chemistry.

After one wild night in Vegas (and too much tequila), Everleigh finds herself in bed with a man she can’t stand and a ring on her finger. It doesn’t help that the man in question knows all the ways to push her buttons, even with his lickable abs and chiseled chest. The life she’s built, with her secrets locked up tight, is threatened when he decides he wants more than her in his bed – he wants her heart.

Brooks had wanted the hot pharmacist from the first moment he saw her. Except she shoots him down at every advance, so he hands it over to fate. But fate doesn’t anticipate someone from Everleigh’s past intent on keeping her for himself.

by Renee Harless

4.5 Stars…..

Gosh I love this series! If you’ve read any of my reviews from the previous books in the series you know I am repeating myself when I say that. But it’s the truth. I’m going to hate when this series comes to an end. Thankfully there are two more brothers waiting to have their stories told.

Brooks and Everleigh……
So these two have volatile chemistry. They love to hate each other. But fortunately by the end of this book, love wins out. But it is a hard won battle. When Everleigh and Brooks first meet in book one of the series, their attraction is instant. While Brooks wants Everleigh with everything he has, she will fight the attraction to the bitter end. And she literally does just that. So, yeah, I will admit here that Everleigh was difficult to like at first. Because I knew there was more to her closed off personality, I instantly gave her the benefit of the doubt. I wanted to see how things would unfold for her. In addition, I desperately wanted to learn her secrets. While Brooks was pretty much an open book, Everleigh was as stubborn as ever.

So from the blurb you know they are married. But you should know they aren’t really together. It takes a heck of a lot of time and much patience on Brooks part to get to their happily-ever-after. I promise you will get frustrated at times and probably even a bit angry with how slowly their relationship develops. But Everleigh has good reason for the fortress around her heart. My heart broke for her when everything is revealed. From this point I’ll say no more other than you are in for a ride of emotional proportions.

Oh, and the ending was so sweet. I really, really love Brooks. I recommend you check out this series; you won’t be disappointed.

This is my honest and unbiased opinion. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂

A little friendly flirting turned into a night filled with want and need.
Not once did I ever think I would do something like this.

My Review:

Flatline (Med Rom Series Book #1)Flatline by Kristine Dugger

3.5 Stars to Flatline (Med Rom Series Book #1) by Kristine Dugger.

Leo & Paige…….

This is my first book by this author. Unfortunately, I didn’t love it. That said, there wasn’t anything wrong with the author’s writing. The writing flowed steady and the intimacy was sexy, erotic and well-written. I do wish the POVs were from both perspectives. I think I would have liked the book more if I could understand Leo better.

My problem with this book was a non-existent connection to the characters; main and secondary. I found them to be one-dimensional for the most part. Yes, we learn they had hurtful pasts. And as a result of their pasts, neither Paige or Leo were intending to commit. Their relationship was 90% sex only. Towards the end of the book their feelings started to shift. Unfortunately, Paige’s behavior left me angry, frustrated and dissatisfied. The book ending with a cliffhanger did not help my already conflicting emotions.

I can’t remember the last time I completely hated a heroine. I know that is a strong word but it is how I felt. I couldn’t find anything redeeming about her character.

Paige is a dietician and works long hours at the local hospital in the ICU department. She is devoted to, and loves her job. Paige doesn’t mind the long days she puts in. However, her ex-fiance had problems with it. They broke up. His reasons were that he didn’t love her any longer and wanted to experience other relationships. This situation naturally left Paige heartbroken and determined to never, ever give her heart away again.

When Paige gets involved with Leo, she makes it clear to him that their relationship will be strictly casual. Sex only. No feelings.

Leo, who is a trauma doctor at the same hospital doesn’t believe in relationships either. He refuses to give his heart away so when he meets Paige, he couldn’t be more thrilled. He found the perfect woman. One he could have a no-strings relationship with.

Of course by the end of the book, feelings started to get involved. I won’t give anything away as to what happened, especially since this book finishes in a less than happy ending. We’ll have to wait for book two to see how they work out their issues. And yes, I will read that book even though I didn’t love this one. Just because I don’t connect with one book by an author doesn’t mean I won’t with another. I like to be as supportive as I can so I will always give an author a second chance, maybe even a third. As I said earlier, my opinions of Flatline are based on character behavior and personality and not a reflection on the writing talent.

My Review:

Study MeStudy Me by Logan Chance

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Houston and Marley…….

Study Me is the 4th book I have read by Logan Chance. They were all amazing and I greedily devoured each one. I couldn’t read fast enough and was so engrossed I needed to get to the finish line asap. Every one of Logan’s books had that effect on me.

Study ME was darker than the others and I admit this book caused me some serious distress. It was downright dark, yet poignant and passionate as well.

Houston was a complete A-hole. Even though we didn’t get the ‘why’ until late in the book, you can easily infer from his thoughts and even some actions, that he had a tortured soul. Houston Dale was in emotional pain and distress. God my heart bled for him. Even before the ‘reveal’ I knew that whatever it was that was causing his suffering would be gut wrenching and unimaginable. Even so, I wasn’t prepared for that ‘moment’ in the book that reached inside of my chest and ripped out my heart.

I cried too.

Dr. Houston Dale is a professor at NYU and taught anatomy. Was he gorgeous and sexy? Yup. Was the female student population attracted to him? Yup. But alas, Dr. Dale was a certifiable A-hole. A condescending jerk. He was also rude and impatient. There was no happy persona surrounding him at all. And yet, Marley could not stay away.

Marley was Houston’s student and eight years younger. She unsuccessfully tried to hide her attraction. I have to mention this…..she did a lousy job of hiding it. So yeah, that scene on the plane had me feeling mortification right along with her. :/

Marley knew she had to keep her feelings for Houston locked up. It was too hard. Despite Houston’s dark persona and condescending attitude, Marley still saw through his armor. She knew he was hurting but didn’t know why. What she did know was that her feelings for Houston were growing despite the casual status of their ‘relationship’ that they agreed upon.

Feelings weren’t only changing for Marley.

I don’t want to give any spoilers so I won’t get into any more details. I do want to say that I was completely along for the ride with Houston and Marley.

I loved every single moment of this book. It was sexy and erotic. There was passion and pain. But there was also oh so much pleasure.

Without hesitation, I recommend this book as a MUST READ! ABSOLUTELY!

Logan Chance enjoys the simple things in life. Star Wars, music, and pretty girls. Always in trouble at school, he was made to copy the dictionary while the others played. This began his word fascination.

With a love of words he then realized he loved stringing those same words together to create stories to inspire all.

From Boston, and relocated to Florida, he lives out his days writing, reading, and avoiding the beach.

Not afraid to tell it how it is, Logan is definitely a man of his own.

Naughty Doctor  by author Maddie King.

Ben and Zoe…..

Naughty Doctor was a fun, sexy novel. I would describe it as totally over-the-top intsa lust that turned into love. Everything about it screamed sex and sensuality. Was it realistic? Hell no! It was total fantasy. Fortunately, not one of mine since my gynecologist is a woman. Lol.

Ben and Zoe briefly meet for a few minutes at a local coffee shop. Ben is instantly attracted. Unfortunately he let her leave without asking her out and regrets it. Two months later, he’s still thinking about her. Ben, a gynecologist soon finds out that Zoe is his next patient. He is both surprised and delighted. Of course he won’t let her get away this time. Finding her waiting in the exam room made him ecstatic and excited. Let me just say that Ben was unethical when it came to Zoe.

At first their relationship was casual but that quickly changes. There is a small amount of angst with a co-worker of Ben’s AND his ex-wife. Ben knows Zoe is special and he is determined to hold onto her. He will do whatever necessary to win her heart.

Naughty Doctor had a nice steady pace. There wasn’t any complexity to the characters but I didn’t mind. I loved this book for what it was; a sexy, steamy, insta love story featuring a very naughty doctor. 😉
