Now Available! Truly Mine: Mason & Sophie Duet Book One, A Friends-to-Lovers Roommate Romance. Read below the post for my Review! 👇

This is a friends-to-lovers roommate romance filled with drama, suspense, and, of course, plenty of angsty slow burn goodness you’ve come to expect in a Kennedy Fox book!

Truly Mine, Book 1

The night we met in the dimly lit bar, she looked like a brunette bombshell, and I wanted to learn her deepest secrets. With sun-kissed skin and soulful bedroom eyes, she was pure temptation, and I was mesmerized.
As one drink led to two, I craved more of her playful banter and taunting lips. Resisting her wasn’t an option, and we quickly became a desperate mess of tangled limbs and hot kisses. She tasted like the sweetest sin, and I was no saint.
Once we caught our breaths, and it became obvious that meeting her wasn’t a coincidence, everything changed. Now I must deny her at all costs.
Friends. It’s all we can ever be.

After years of lying to myself and keeping her at a distance, I want to pull her close. Sophie’s on my mind more than ever as my instincts to protect her take over. Regardless of my attempts to help, she pushes me away and makes it clear she doesn’t need me.
I’ll do whatever it takes to keep her safe, to show her I’m the good guy, but one night takes a tragic turn for the worse when her boyfriend and I start throwing punches.
And ends when I’m arrested for his murder.

Truly Mine: Mason & Sophie, #1 (Roommate Duet, #3)Truly Mine: Mason & Sophie, #1 by Kennedy Fox

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow, oh wow! Thank goodness I have more than nine lives because this author duo kills me every time. In a good way, of course.

Yep, you guessed it……cliffhanger!

So, that being said, there isn’t a whole lot I can tell you regarding details. But if you are familiar with this author and their duets, then no explaining is necessary. If not, then hang on for an emotional, angsty ride. Kennedy Fox can weave a tale of romance, angst, suspense and love every time. I always look forward to what comes next in their literary line up.

I can tell you this…..Mason and Sophie were introduced in the first duet of this amazing series. We know there is chemistry and something stronger between them. Even though we have never seen them on the pages together in any intimate circumstance, their attraction is so obvious. But why haven’t they acted on it? That is what you will finally find out in Truly Mine: Mason & Sophie.
I loved meeting Mason all over again with his own perspective. I really liked him. Of course I loved him too; he is a sexy man. But the fact that I like his character and the protective instincts he displays and the reasons he tries to distance himself from Sophie make him a gentleman as well.

As I said earlier in my review, I can’t say much because I won’t spoil this book for you. But I will say that it is amazing and I can’t wait to get my hands on book two, which is thankfully coming soon otherwise I’ll be having too many sleepless nights waiting to find out what happens next. Oh, and that cliffhanger? It’s a big one! 😉

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the tie to read it. 🙂

My Review:

Scripted Reality (Scripted,#1)Scripted Reality by Karen Frances

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Stars
Karen Frances has such a talent for writing. Everything I have read by this author has had me enthralled and engaged with every page. While most of my friends can tell you I dislike cliffhangers and most times will avoid reading unless book two is available. That said, Karen Frances is one of a few authors I will read despite the cliffhanger aspect.

So, you have likely figured out that this book ends in a cliffhanger, lol.

Ella and Connor…….
Ella and Connor are both “A” list actors. Both calling Scotland their true home. What I loved about these two is how down to earth they were. In my opinion they were NOT stereotypical actors. I loved how sweet and generous Ella was with her heart as well as her money. And Connor was the epitome of everything you want in a hero. Sinfully sexy, gorgeous, generous, protective, loving and a complete gentlemen. I could continue this list; I loved him so much. But guess what? Connor was not perfect. He had a few secrets. But still he was perfect for Ella and perfect for me. I wish, lol.

I’ll be brief with this review because this is just book one in the Scripted Duet. That said, my review for book two will be more detailed. I don’t want to give anything away regarding spoilers.

Ella’s life takes a turn dramatically when she learns of her ex’s deceptions. His betrayed caused Ella to burrow into a dark, emotional place. Until her family pulls her back into the light, Ella is lost and scared and devastated. But she was a strong woman and I was not even a little surprised with how Ella turned a bad situation to a remarkable one.

Connor is a friend. A very good friend. Connor originally met Ella through a mutual friend, her ex. But unknown to Ella, Connor was completely devoted to her. Taking sides was a no-brainer. Unfortunately because Ella has become distrustful, Connor will have to tread slowly to make his claim on her.

While their relationship grows slowly, the chemistry is alway there, burning hot. However, while Ella and Connor try to find their way as a couple, there is trouble brewing with Ella’s ex. And when things finally start to look good for Ella……here comes the cliffhanger. The good thing? You won’t have to wait long to find out what happens next because book two is releasing at the end of June! 😉

This amazing suspenseful love story continues…..

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂

Honest LoveHonest Love by Lauren K. McKellar

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

4.5 stars to Honest Love (Duet Part One) by author Lauren K. McKellar.

Get ready to have your heart squeezed and your gut punched. Be ready to smile and cry. There will even be some swooning and a bit of laughter. And then when you are feeling content, you better hold on tight for the worst angst and stress. It’s not that this premise is completely unpredictable because it isn’t. However the author will give you the comfort and security you’re reading for, then rip it away. Needless to say this book ends in a cliffhanger. The good thing? We won’t have to wait until the next book. I believe part two will be released in April. Thank goodness!

Honest Love was my first book by this author. Apart from reading part two in this duet, I would definitely like to read more from her. I found the writing smooth and paced steady. I read this whole book in about ninety minutes because I couldn’t put it down. I admit I am not a big fan of cliffhangers. Actually I rarely read them unless the next book is available. I just can’t take the stress. Also, I read so much that if there are many months between the releases, my head will be in other books causing me to have to re-read. I don’t like doing that and avoid it if I can. However the blurb for this book was so intriguing. I knew there would be many feels and I was right.

Cameron and Everly…..
Cameron has had to deal with something that is so horrific and tragic. And even a couple of years later, he is having trouble letting it go and moving on. But he does get a chance to be happy again. And so for a short while, he feels alive once more. But this feeling won’t last. And Cameron will have new tragedy to deal with.

Everly was a kind and supportive heroine for Cameron. Unfortunately she has secrets. These secrets will bring heartache and mistrust. As I mentioned, this book does end in a cliffhanger which while was devastating enough, doesn’t even reveal all Everly’s secrets.

I know this book will have a happy ending. However, how Cameron and Everly will find their happily ever after is going to be interesting if not a little angsty. I can’t wait for the roller coaster of emotions to continue!

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂

My Review:

Bad Deeds (Dirty Money, #3)Bad Deeds by Lisa Renee Jones

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Stars to Bad Deeds: Dirty Money #3 by Lisa Renee Jones.

The epic saga continues with even more intense moments!

Bad Deeds continues exactly where Damage Control (book #2) left off. I must tell you that if you haven’t read the first two books in the Dirty Money series beforehand, you must! Bad Deeds is not a standalone and you will be otherwise lost. There is so much drama and angst going on. There are many secondary characters that each play different roles in this story. This book is suspenseful and complex.

Emily and Shane have their troubles. Their own and shared. But they have each other and that isn’t going to change. Shane will do anything to keep her safe. He will hurt anyone who tries to harm her in any way. Including his brother.

Derek is a real a-hole! I didn’t like him from book one. I thought he was deceitful, selfish and completely disloyal to his brother. However, after reading this book, I feel like I understand him a little better. I was happy to have some of his POV so that I could be inside his thoughts.

In this book you will be stressed, wondering what is going to happen and who it will involve. Who can you trust? There is a lot of dark to keep you on your toes. (And chewing your nails.)

Of course, as in Lisa Renee fashion, there is a cliffhanger! And now I am holding my breath waiting on the final book!

If you like intrigue and suspense featuring a sexy hero, a smart, resourceful heroine, with a wealthy dysfunctional family, you need to grab this series.

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it.

The first volume of TENSE, a novel duet by New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author, Deborah Bladon.

He’s as beautiful as he is brilliant.

Nicholas Wolf’s mind is a dangerously dark place. He dreams up tales of murder, intrigue, and passion so intense that his detective novels have enthralled readers worldwide. His very presence is electric and the energy that flows between us is instantaneous.

He’s captivating and consuming. Once I have my first taste of him, I crave more. I’m addicted to his body and his mind is the lure that keeps me coming back for more.

I chase my goals with his encouragement as my fuel. He believes in me more than anyone ever has before. He wants my dreams to come true and as I chase them, he’s next to me, spurring me on.

I can’t get enough of him until the one night when he promises me my dreams will come true. It’s not what it seems. Everything I’ve ever wanted is taken away from me and the one man to blame is the only man I’ve ever really loved.

Note: This ends in a cliffhanger. Volume Two will be released within the next few weeks.

I couldn’t have known how one man would change my entire life.

When Nicholas Wolf came into my world, I knew it would never be the same again. I would never have predicted the turn it would take and how his influence could destroy everything I’d worked so hard for.

I fought back when he tried to rob me of my future, and I proved that I’m stronger than he imagined.

As we work to rebuild what we lost, a new challenge rears its ugly head in our direction.

The threat is real and when my life hangs in the balance, one moment changes everything between the man that I love and me.

Nicholas (Nick) and Sophia…….

Although I have rated each book differently with stars, I am writing a single review based on both parts. Since this review is being posted to both volumes, I will make sure to avoid any spoilers in case you haven’t read both. Book one does end in a cliffhanger.

Sophia is a beautiful, independent woman. She works for a well-known top NYC designer as a personal assistant. Sophia is excellent at her job and as far as her boss is concerned, she is irreplaceable. But Sophia has her own dreams for the future which don’t include her current occupation. Unfortunately her confidence is low and she is wary and more than a little hesitant to take a chance. That said, all it takes is a captivating and sexy man to give her the push of encouragement she needs. Unfortunately after she finds the courage and confidence to pursue her dreams, something unforeseen takes place to threaten what means the most to her.

Nicholas Wolf is a famous novelist. His specialty is writing detective novels. Nick is very successful as well as cocky and arrogant. There were times I got the feeling he believed himself entitled and could have anything and anyone he wanted.

Until he sets his sights on Sophia.

Nick soon finds out what rejection feels like and that he isn’t going to get what he wants. Nick will have to chance his strategy if he wants a chance with Sophia. It’s is not long before he realizes she is special. I was so happy Sophia made Nick work for a chance with her.

Nick and Sophia go through ups and downs. Both are keeping secrets. Both are wary of the growing feelings they are having towards each other. There were times I wanted to reach into the story and slap Nick for his arrogance and assumptions. But don’t worry, he did redeem himself to me.

As well as the angst between Nick and Sophia, there are misunderstandings, threats and and a lot of regret and remorse thrown at them. In addition to the relationship challenges, there is an element of danger waiting for its chance to strike.

As a whole, I really enjoyed the Tense duet. I do admit that it was the second book that made the story better in my opinion. I don’t like cliffhangers and if I can help it, I avoid them. I’ll warn you there is a cliffhanger at the end of book one. That said I waited until book two in the duet was available and read them both back to back.

There is a happy ending which I loved. I’m looking forward to this author’s next book.

My Review:

Broken: A Dark Alpha Male Romance (Insatiable Book 1)Broken: A Dark Alpha Male Romance by Ashton Blackthorne

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 Stars to Broken: A Dark Alpha Male Romance (Insatiable Book #1) by Ashton Blackthorne.

First let me say this book was sexy, erotic, and hot as Hell! Just wow! To know that it’s a true story…well, it’s nice to know that some of the circumstances we read about in romances can actually be true.

Broken was my first book by Ashton Blackthorne. It won’t be my last, that is for sure. I’m going to have to catch up with this series as well as Ashton’s just published, “Twisted.

Other than the obvious fact that I enjoyed reading this book, I admit to be a bit intimidated with writing my review. Because this is a true story, featuring the author himself I worry about insulting him. But since I am always honest in my reviews, I will do this one the way I would any other; with honesty and integrity.

Ok…again I’ll say I loved this book and will be purchasing the other books by this author. Not just because I need to know what happened. (I have been known to dislike a book but will still buy the next in series because I hate cliffhangers.) I was genuinely engaged and found the writing to flow well. I also felt that the ‘characters’ were written with depth and complexity.

Broken had a good amount of feels. I was never bored; always eager to turn pages. The hero, Ashton, was cocky, arrogant and very full of himself. He is dark and dirty, an intense alpha male. All elements I find in a sexy hero were there in Ashton.

The secondary ‘characters’ were of different personalities. My curiosity was definitely piqued. I have to admit I wasn’t sure I liked any of them. It was definitely hard to determine who was or wasn’t trustworthy. I am eager to read more to find out. This is only part one and there is room for my opinions to change. But for now, I’m happy this book came my way.

My Review:

Savage Yearning: Wolf Essence 3Savage Yearning: Wolf Essence 3 by M. Corchis

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Stars to Savage Yearning: (Wolf Essence #3) by M. Corchis.

So going into this book I had yet to read the prior books in this series. That was my mistake. But also my fault because I didn’t make any inquiries. As a result, I had many questions by the time I was well into the book. I still enjoyed it but I was confused sometimes. It was obvious to me very early on that I had missed out on some substantial events. I’m sure there are many readers that will enjoy this book as a standalone, but I believe reading the prior books in this series will give a better reading experience. There is a lot of situations going on that kept me engaged despite my questions. And I obviously loved this book given my 5 star rating.

That said one of the focuses is on the relationship of Dane and Vivienne. But since there are multiple perspectives told by several of the series’ characters, you can guess there are other circumstances happening. That said, Dane and Viv do have a HFN ending which I was happy with despite the major plot conflicts unfolding. The conflict has yet to be resolved and this book does end in a cliffhanger.

I don’t know where to begin with this review given the fact there are so many characters and I don’t want to confuse you. I’m going to focus on Dane and Viv right now. Dane is a wolf shifter, a man that is definitely troubled. I hate to call him a jerk even though he did many things that made me angry. I felt his pain, I believed Dane didn’t like himself at times. He also makes many of the pack members angry and disappointed in him. But there is the fact that he is trying to change to prove to his mate that he wants only her. Dane has a terrible reputation of a man-whore and as a result he really has to work hard in his fight for Vivienne.

Vivienne is the perfect balance to Dane’s gruff arrogance. She is sweet and innocent. Vivienne is quiet and respectful. She is loyal but unfortunately she is easily taken advantage of. She has always loved Dane but because of his past and recent behavior, she is ready to give up on him.

The second half of the book picked up speed. There was drama, anxiety and even more mystery unfolding. By the last chapters I was frantically turning pages on my Kindle.

I admit I was not thrilled about the cliffhanger at first. Anyone who knows me knows how much I hate them and I have been known to avoid a book knowing it ends that way. However, because I didn’t read the prior books in this series yet, the cliffhanger wasn’t as torturous. I know when I back read the prior books I will get the answers I need about all the characters. I seriously can’t wait to read them. By the time the next book is released, I’ll be ready.

I grew up in a small town in Ontario, Canada. When I was nine, my parents bought a store. We sold books and magazines, which was great because it fed my addiction for knowledge.

Reading enhanced my vivid imagination, I was encouraged by my family and my seventh and eighth grade English Teacher to keep writing.

I’m an Indie author, and to me, there is no better place than between pages or plots. I love all genres, and most of my stories take place in mystical worlds filled with eerie supernatural intrigue with a healthy dose of eroticism.
Happy reading!

Not a standalone; ends in cliffhanger.

This is how my life goes. It’s pretty damn simple. I work with very little play. I’m an ICU Dietitian. What exactly does this mean? My career is my one true love. Nothing else compares.

Until one night, I decided to go outside my comfort zone.
A little friendly flirting turned into a night filled with want and need.
Not once did I ever think I would do something like this.
One-night stand, no strings attached.
Me leaving the next morning, hoping to never see him again.

Boy, was I wrong.

He works with me.
A fucking doctor!

My Review:

Flatline (Med Rom Series Book #1)Flatline by Kristine Dugger

3.5 Stars to Flatline (Med Rom Series Book #1) by Kristine Dugger.

Leo & Paige…….

This is my first book by this author. Unfortunately, I didn’t love it. That said, there wasn’t anything wrong with the author’s writing. The writing flowed steady and the intimacy was sexy, erotic and well-written. I do wish the POVs were from both perspectives. I think I would have liked the book more if I could understand Leo better.

My problem with this book was a non-existent connection to the characters; main and secondary. I found them to be one-dimensional for the most part. Yes, we learn they had hurtful pasts. And as a result of their pasts, neither Paige or Leo were intending to commit. Their relationship was 90% sex only. Towards the end of the book their feelings started to shift. Unfortunately, Paige’s behavior left me angry, frustrated and dissatisfied. The book ending with a cliffhanger did not help my already conflicting emotions.

I can’t remember the last time I completely hated a heroine. I know that is a strong word but it is how I felt. I couldn’t find anything redeeming about her character.

Paige is a dietician and works long hours at the local hospital in the ICU department. She is devoted to, and loves her job. Paige doesn’t mind the long days she puts in. However, her ex-fiance had problems with it. They broke up. His reasons were that he didn’t love her any longer and wanted to experience other relationships. This situation naturally left Paige heartbroken and determined to never, ever give her heart away again.

When Paige gets involved with Leo, she makes it clear to him that their relationship will be strictly casual. Sex only. No feelings.

Leo, who is a trauma doctor at the same hospital doesn’t believe in relationships either. He refuses to give his heart away so when he meets Paige, he couldn’t be more thrilled. He found the perfect woman. One he could have a no-strings relationship with.

Of course by the end of the book, feelings started to get involved. I won’t give anything away as to what happened, especially since this book finishes in a less than happy ending. We’ll have to wait for book two to see how they work out their issues. And yes, I will read that book even though I didn’t love this one. Just because I don’t connect with one book by an author doesn’t mean I won’t with another. I like to be as supportive as I can so I will always give an author a second chance, maybe even a third. As I said earlier, my opinions of Flatline are based on character behavior and personality and not a reflection on the writing talent.
