Synopsis:

Holly Thompson was struggling to get by. Between trying to pay her bills and taking care of her six-year-old niece, she worried if she’d have enough money for their next meal.

But when she saw an ad in the paper, she realized maybe there was light at the end of the tunnel.

Bryant Sommers was a hotshot NHL player. He had everything anyone could want, even though he had no one to share it with. And he was happy with that.

But he had to prove to his manager that he was committed in all aspects of his life—including being in a relationship.

That’s where Holly came in.

What started out as a business arrangement turned into so much more.

And now all he could think about was claiming Holly.

My Review:

Claiming HollyClaiming Holly by Mila Crawford

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 Stars!
Cute, sexy story featuring an OTT possessive alpha.
This book was pretty short and one that I gobbled up pretty quickly. Holly was a down on her luck single mom, just trying to afford life. I liked Holly a lot. Despite her unfortunate circumstances, she was strong and independent. Her daughter was sweet and adorable and her character added some depth to the story. Bryant was not my favorite. Unfortunately, because of his dominant, possessive persona, it took some time to warm up to him. Eventually he grew on me because of how he treated Holly and her daughter. Just like with any OTT alpha, Bryant was intense but he treated Holly with tenderness.

Holly interviews for a position which will force her to spend a lot of time with Bryant. He needs a hired girlfriend to prove to his boss he can be a family man. Bryant is a pro-hockey athlete and striving for the captain position for his teamHis manager convinced him that hiring a girlfriend will make him look better to managment. Of course, Bryant does not intend to keep a girlfriend once he gets the captain position. Ha! Once he set eyes on Holly, his attraction is instant and strong. Bryant has no intentions of letting her go. Ever!

As I said, this was a quick, fun and sexy read. A perfect addition to my holiday reads thus far.

This is my honest and unbiased opinion. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂

📝My Review📝:

Eggnog Makes Her Easy (Boys of the Big Easy)Eggnog Makes Her Easy by Erin Nicholas

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

4.5 Stars
I have been reading this author for a while now. I’ve always loved her books. As far as talent goes, she is a wonderful storyteller and always has me engaged in her books. This was actually my first book in the Boys of the Big Easy series. I definitely want to read the rest of the series. There are so many wonderful characters.

This story was so adorable and sexy at the same time. Lindsey and Matt have been married for ten years and have two young children, both boys. Matt is actively enlisted in the military, and the truth is he is away more than he is home. I’ll say right here that Lindsey is a one-in-million heroine. Not many women would be able to handle the absence of the man they love for most of the time they’ve been married. Lindsay never knows when Matt is going to be home or how long he is able to stay. I truly felt bad for Lindsey. This was not your typical romance. And I’ll admit, I expected more with the ending of this book. So, yes, I was a little disappointed after reading the last page. I just wanted more of the book and more for Lindsey and Matt as a couple. I don’t want to say much more; you’ll just have to read for yourself. I would like to add that my feelings about how the book ended is 100% a matter of preference and not based on the author’s talent for writing.

Because this is a fast-paced novella, I don’t want to give any details away. You can easily read this book in under a couple of hours. One more thing I would like to add, is after I finished reading this story, the characters stayed in my thoughts for very long time afterward. I just wish things would have been more easy for Lindsey and Matt. But one thing is for sure, their love was realistic and believable. I absolutely adored them as a couple. I respected them as well!

As I said earlier, I can’t wait to read the other books in this series. I absolutely recommend Egg Nog Makes Her Easy as a must read for the holidays. It will fill you with such emotions; your heart will be bursting with so many different feelings.

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂

BLOG TOUR ~ Exmas by WInter Renshaw is Available Now! ~ Genre: #HolidayRomance

This Christmas, I’ll be getting a visit from a man in a suit, only it won’t be Santa.

Let me first say: Reed York was never my boyfriend. He was the pen. I was the company ink. Though if you want to get technical, we were more like colleagues-who-hated-each-other … with benefits.

Everything was fine until the charming jerk went behind my back, stole my promotion, and became my boss—literally overnight.

Refusing to work beneath him (professionally speaking and otherwise), I transferred 2,014 miles away to our Chicago division, and I’ve spent the past year trying to remember how much I hated his panty-melting smirk so I can forget how much I secretly loved the way his ocean eyes lit every time I walked into the room.

But he’s just announced a last-minute site visit the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day, and on top of that, he’s audaciously designated me as his ‘right hand gal’ during his visit. If he thinks he has a snowball’s chance in this hell at getting back in my good graces, he’s got another thing coming.

Reed York might be a man used to getting everything he’s ever wanted, but Joa Jolivet is a woman that never forgets.

He can put me on his Christmas list all he wants, but everyone knows naughty boys only get coal.

Reed has always been two steps ahead of me, though in this case, as we make our way from the L station to my car in the parking lot, he’s two steps behind.
We said nothing to each other on the walk to the train, the only sound between us was the rolling of his suitcase wheels against a pitted concrete sidewalk.
Once we got on board, he sat three rows away and on the opposite side—in front of me, even. So I wouldn’t have to worry about feeling the burden of his stare on the back of my head for thirty straight minutes.
For most of the day, he left me alone. Tending to his audits and only coming out twice that I noticed.
I don’t know what he’s planning, only that he’s definitely planning something. He’s strategic like that. Everything he does is for a reason.
We climb into my car—the same Honda Accord I had in LA, though he always drove us in his Range Rover because growing up in that area, he always knew the best ways to get everywhere, always understood how the time of day correlated with the flow of the traffic.
I start the engine and the radio blares with Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, making me jump in my seat.
Reed laughs.
I crank the volume down and adjust the heat settings.
Heading down Forthwait Street a few minutes later, I can’t help but wonder what he’s going to think of my parents’ home. It’s a 1970s split-level that hasn’t been updated since they remodeled it in the late nineties. Everything is hunter green and burgundy and oak. It’s going to be a far cry from the Malibu manse he grew up in.
At least, I assume he grew up in a Malibu mansion.
He’s from Malibu, and he’s hinted at his privileged upbringing in the past.
Anyway, it isn’t that I care what he’s going to think. It’s not like I’m trying to impress him. I’m just wondering if he’s ever set foot in a house the size of his closet that hasn’t aged in almost thirty years.
I almost find it funny, actually.
Every time we’d travel, he’d pick these upscale houses, modern places with pools and art installations and private driveways and landscaping that rivaled paradise.
This couldn’t be further from his usual fare.
We round the corner and I pull into my parents’ snow-packed driveway, parking beneath the basketball hoop where I beat my brother, Logan, in five straight games of H-O-R-S-E last summer.
It almost feels sacrilegious to have Reed here.
“I’ll walk you in,” I say, killing the engine.
He climbs out, retrieving his bag from my trunk, and I head toward the garage, typing in my parents’ anniversary into the keypad.
The smell of engine oil and frigid garage air hits my lungs and I lead him to the door in case he gets lost in this behemoth.
A moment later, we step inside, wrapped in a hug of indoor warmth.
“Mom? Dad?” I yell.
I know they’re home. Both of their cars are here.
“Reed is here,” I yell again before climbing the stairs to the next level.
I still can’t believe my mom insisted on hosting him this week. Wait. Actually, I can believe it. She doesn’t just love to host and entertain, she lives for it. And I’m sure she took one look at Reed, sized him up as a successful, attractive man approximately my age, and thought she could do a little nonchalant match-making.
Reed might be two steps ahead of me, but I’m two steps ahead of my mother.
Making our way through the living room, we pass into the kitchen. The scent of warm, soapy dishwater—a smell I’ve always associated with home—fills my lungs.
Growing up, my father was a high school math teacher and my mother ran an in-home daycare. Our house always smelled like dish soap, laundry, apple sauce, and Cheerios. I swear the walls of this place practically radiate love and warmth and togetherness.
I can’t believe I ever thought I’d be happier in LA than here.
“Mom?” I call for her again.
“Coming!” A second later, she appears from the hallway. “Sorry. Was just putting away some fresh towels in Reed’s bathroom. You’ll be staying in Joa’s old room. She’s got a full-sized bed and it’s a pillow top, so you should be very comfortable.”
“I have no doubt. Thanks again for hosting me,” Reed says.
Kiss ass.
“Oh, sweetheart, it’s our pleasure,” my mother says. “And you know, Tom is just dying to meet you. He’s a numbers guy. I assume you are too if you’re a CFO. I’m sure you two could talk shop tonight over dinner. I’m making goulash. I hope that’s okay?”
Goulash.
I swear my mom makes that every twelve days like clockwork, and she has for as long as I can remember.
Chuckling to myself, I secretly love the fact that he could be eating the finest Chilean sea bass at some Michelin-star restaurant in Chicago tonight, but he’s going to be having ghoulash with Tom and Bevin Jolivet instead.
While the two of them are distracted, I sneak out through the front door, climb back into my car, and head to my place.
None of this feels real, and the hazy cast of snow flurries against a dark gray sky only adds to the surrealness.
This is not at all how I pictured any of this going.

Reed

“Pam said you were looking for me?” Joa stands at the threshold of the conference room, favoring the hall side, her hands braced against the door jamb. Everything about her says she’s trying like hell to physically resist me.
I take my time checking my watch. “Do you always take three-hour lunches?”
Her arms tighten across her chest. “I was with a client.”
“Do you always let your clients kiss you?”
Her jaw hangs loose. “You were watching me?”
“Not watching. I looked outside and happened to see. Joa, why don’t you come in and shut the door.”
She hesitates, nostrils slightly flared, and then her arms drop to her sides and she exhales before stepping inside and shutting the door.
“You don’t have to stand all the way over there.” I chuff, finding amusement in the fact that she’s still digging her heels in. “I’m not going to bite. Only did that once. You didn’t like it, remember?”
“I can’t believe we’re having this conversation right now.”
“I can’t believe we’re having a conversation, period.” I rise, buttoning my suit coat as I make my way to her. “And I also can’t believe I had to fly two thousand miles across the country to get you to even look at me.”
“Really? Reed? You can’t believe that?” Her tone is mocking, her angled brows a stark contrast on her sweet face. She’s never been good at looking angry. It doesn’t suit her.
“All I wanted to do that day was tell you how sorry I was—”
“—sorry?!” She laughs, refusing to let me explain that my hands were tied. I was tapped that morning and told I had no choice but to take a job for which I never applied—a job that I didn’t even want—and that was before I knew the half of what was going on. “You were sorry? You wished me luck that morning, Reed. And then you took the job right out from under me. You knew how much I wanted that job and you just … took it. And then you stand here a year later with the audacity to act like I owe you a chance to apologize.”
“You don’t owe me anything, Joa.”
Her lips part, as if she already had a response prepared, but she stops herself, apparently at a loss for words. And I could be imagining this, but I swear her expression softened just a hair.
“Look—” I begin to say until she waves her hand through the air to silence me.
“Please. Let’s not waste our time talking about something that happened a lifetime ago,” she says. Funny how a year ago feels like a lifetime to her. It feels like only yesterday to me.

📝My Review📝:

4 Stars!   🎄🎄🎄🎄
Christmas Comes to Snowfall by Erika Marks was a sweet, romantic, enjoyable read. I truly do love everything Christmas so after I read the blurb for this book, I couldn’t resist. Small town Christmases with fun-loving, quirky, secondary characters always bring more enjoyment. This book was well-written with a steady pace. The premise of the book was cute and I found myself swooning over Alden Marshall, the hero. Maggie was an amazing heroine and perfect for Alden.

Alden and Maggie…..
Snowfall is a charming touristy town in Vermont. This year, the town has hired a web designer to re-design the town’s current website. Snowfall has been decreasing in visitors, as well as profits. Some of the town folks think it has to do with a decades old curse. Alden is distantly related to the curse. It was Alden’s great-grandfather whose actions started the curse. At least that is what the town believes. Unfortunately, this year has yet to see snow in Snowfall. And this is having some people believe it is Alden’s fault. A bit to much close-mindedness if you ask me. Unfortunately, Alden was close to believing the bad luck and it was affecting his emotions. But a beautiful, caring Maggie Iverson’s visit to Snowfall helps Alden to see things in a different light. I don’t want to say too much. This book is only 144 pages and the pace is pretty fast. You will enjoy watching the romance between Maggie and Alden on your own. I know I did.

Christmas Comes to Snowfall is a lovely story. I was completely engrossed and couldn’t wait to see how everything unfolded. The end came a little fast for me and I would have liked an epilogue.
That said, I do recommend this book. It will definitely put you in the Christmas mood.

One more thing I would like to add it that I loved the characters. Not only Maggie and Alden who were both lovely and likable, but the secondary characters as well. Most of them were likable. The author also did a fabulous job with setting the scene for the town of Snowfall. I would love to read more books set in this small picturesque town.

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂

📝My Review📝:

Luke's Gift (The Harlow Brothers Book 2)Luke’s Gift by Kaylie Newell

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 Stars!

Luke’s Gift was a sweet story with likable characters. The premise was a bit predictable but I didn’t mind that. Watching Luke and Mary grow into something more than friendship was sweet. I inferred pretty quickly that these two characters would not have an easy time trying to develop anything more than friendship. Yes, there is a bit of angst if you’re wondering.

Luke is back from his stint in the military trying to find purpose with his life. He has a job, a home, and his younger brother and sister to keep him grounded. But something is still missing. While Luke does not suffer with typical PTSD, he did not come home from war unscathed. He is more than just a decent man. Luke is caring, generous, and loyal. I liked him a lot. But he has secrets. Secrets that he keeps from Mary.

Mary loves Marietta and her job at the local paper as a journalist. When she is offered a job in New York City; she becomes insecure about leaving Montana. And at the same time, Katie is looking for more in her life and career. She is torn with what to do.

When Mary and Luke meet, their connection is immediate and strong. But because she may be leaving town, and Luke is still trying to adjust to civilian, they are hesitant to start anything. That said, their feelings for each other begin to grow strong despite them taking things slow. And there is that secret that Luke is keeping that just might push them apart for good.

Or maybe it will bring them together. You’ll just have to read the book to find out.

If you know me, then you know I love the books Tule publishing releases having to do with Marietta, Montana. If you’ve read the books about Marietta, Montana from Tule that are Christmas romances, then you know this town goes all out. And that was where my only disappointment with this book lies. Aside from a date at the Graff, Mary and Luke did not partake in the usual Marietta Christmas activities, such as the Stroll. I missed that.

Regardless of what was missing, I did enjoy reading this book. It was a good story to help put me in the Christmas spirit.

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂

ABOUT THE BOOK:
From USA Today bestselling author Caitlin Crews comes A True Cowboy Christmas, the first in a sensational series debut about a cowboy, a farm girl, and the greatest gift of all. . .

Gray Everett has a heart of gold but that doesn’t mean he believes in the magic of Christmas. He’s got plenty else to worry about this holiday season, what with keeping his cattle ranch in the family and out of the hands of hungry real-estate investors looking to make a down-and-dirty deal. That, plus being a parent to his young and motherless daughter, equals a man who will not rest until he achieves his mission. Now, all Gray needs is the help of his lifelong neighbor. . .who happens to have grown into a lovely, spirited woman.

For Abby Douglas, the chance to join forces with Gray is nothing less than a Christmas miracle. Much as the down-to-earth farmer’s daughter has tried to deny it, Abby’s been in love with stern, smoking-hot Gray her whole life. So when Gray proposes a marriage of convenience as a way to combine land—and work together toward a common cause—Abby can’t refuse. But how can she convince Gray that sometimes life offers a man a second chance for a reason. . .and that their growing trust and mutual passion may be leading to true and lasting love?

Excerpt:

“Why would you try to tell me that chemistry doesn’t matter? Of course it does.”

“I’m not saying it doesn’t matter. But sheer stubborn- ness matters more.” He heard the intensity in his voice, but did nothing to temper it. “If people want to stay married, they do. If they want that marriage to be a good one, they work on it and make it that way. It’s not rocket science. It doesn’t require your online profiles. You don’t need to get matched on your smart phone. You make a commit- ment to someone, then you keep it. It’s as simple and as hard as that.”

He watched in fascination as her hands curled into fists at her sides.

“I appreciate that you have experience being married, and that gives you a platform to make sweeping state- ments,” she said, her voice low, as if she was fighting back her own intensity. “That’s great. But you’re missing that I’m not interested in the state of marriage in a general sense. I’m telling you I am not going to marry someone I have no chemistry with. That has nothing to do with me being stubborn, not stubborn, or insufficiently committed. It’s actually all about the fact that I’m not staggering around in a grief-induced daze, proposing marriage to people I’ve never looked at twice before in my whole life.”

That should have annoyed him, because he wasn’t dazed. Amos had been a mean, unhealthy old man. His death hadn’t been a real surprise. Gray wasn’t sure he was

grieving him so much as the father Amos had never been, and he knew he wasn’t crazy with it. But he couldn’t seem to lose his grin, especially when he moved closer to her.

Because when he did, she lost that scowl. Her eyes went wide, that cute flush brightened up her face again, and she had to tip her head back to look at him. Not as much as some of the other girls he’d dated had, as she’d pointed out. Gray liked that too. He didn’t have to hunker over her.

She was . . . right there.

He had an urge and went with it. He reached over and curled his fingers around her ponytail, then pulled them gently along the length of it.

And figured the chemistry question was answered by the way her breath went shuddery.

But he didn’t end it there.

“If I’m following all this,” he said, his drawl low. Thick. “You don’t actually have any objections. You think we maybe ought to date first. You’re worried we don’t have chemistry. But at the end of the day, you’re not opposed to the idea.”

“It’s crazy. And I’m worried that you’re crazy, in a clin- ical sense.”

“If you agree to marry me, I’ll take you on a date or two. If that’s what you want.” His hand was still tangled in her hair, and he was close enough now that he could catch her scent. Gray breathed deep. She smelled like rosemary. And something that reminded him of the pies she and her grandmother had brought over the day after the funeral, warm and good. Right. “But we can settle the other question right here.”

“What do you mean . . . ?”

Gray didn’t wait. He didn’t answer her question, half stammered out with her hazel eyes so wide they looked like summer gold.

A TRUE COWBOY CHRISTMAS 47

He used his free hand to cup her cheek, flushed and smooth beneath his palm. Then he bent—only a little, which struck him as unexpectedly hot—to take her mouth with his.

He felt her tremble. And there was something about the way she melted into him as their lips touched, then brushed, as if she was being pulled by some kind of magnetic force he was half certain he could feel himself.

Gray had only meant to kiss her to make a point. The way a gentleman might, not that he’d ever met too many gentlemen out here where the mountains and the land were the only things that mattered.

But Abby’s lips were soft and velvety beneath his. And she made a tiny sound in the back of her throat that he could feel like a flickering flame.

Before he knew it, Gray was angling his head to one side and licking his way into her mouth.

As if he couldn’t help himself.
And everything got hot. Bright. Impossible.
This was Abby Douglas. Abby Douglas. There was

something deliciously wrong about it being Abby that made it hotter, wilder.

It rolled in him and made a joke of him imagining he was in control of any of this. Of her.

Of this sudden storm of sensation that would have taken him off his feet, if that didn’t mean he would have had to let go of her.

When the door slapped open, both of his hands were sunk deep into her hair, and Abby was up on her toes, pressed against him, her arms wrapped around his back.

It turned out Gray wasn’t going to have to worry about easing his way into some or other form of eventual chem- istry with the woman he already knew would make him a good rancher’s wife. He was going to have to worry about

48 CAITLIN CREWS

what the hell to do with all this chemistry—so much it was like a lightning storm and he kept getting hit—with a woman he’d never paid the slightest attention to until his father’s funeral.

The fact that the front door had opened penetrated the heat and fog that was swirling around him.

Finally.
