Every girl, except me.

📝My Review📝:

Jock (Boston Terriers #5)Jock by Jacob Chance

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Stars! What an absolutely amazing book! I felt every emotion and hated when this book ended. Owen and Eliza’s story is hands down my favorite of the Boston Terriers series. This book is s must read!
If you haven’t read any of the other books in the Boston Terriers series, you are seriously missing out on talented, entertaining writing. These books have all the feels and the humor is adorable. That said, you can definitely read Jock as a standalone as with all of the series’ books. Jacob Chance is one of my favorite authors and I am always stalking and looking forward to what he gives us next.

One of my favorite aspects of this book as well as the others in the BT series is that while the characters are flawed, they are likable and fun to experience. The heroines are sassy and wary of these sexy athletes. I don’t blame them one bit but as you get to know these amazing heroes, you will find they are protective, loyal and complete gentleman. While I absolutely love this series and each book has its special place in my heart, Jock has become my absolute favorite. As a blogger, I read and recommend many, many books. That said, I have to say if you have not checked out this author yet you are truly missing out.

Owen is the quarterback for the Boston Terriers. All he wants is to play for the NFL. Unfortunately, some poor decisions have put that dream at jeopardy. Owen is determined to overcome and once again be the force that the Terriers need. Letting his team, and more importantly himself down, will not happen again. I loved that Owen owned his mistakes. He is one of my favorite male heroes, ever.

Eliza was a bit hard for me to connect with at first. But only because she had secrets that she hadn’t told Owen. My first loyalty was to him so I admit wanted to jump onto the pages and knock some sense into her. Eliza was not perfect. She definitely had some parts to her personality that were surprising. That said, I did understand her reasoning and couldn’t completely fault her for her decisions. Hey, that’s what angst is all about. But the way this book ended was nothing short of perfect for me.

I look forward to see who we’ll get to read about next!  #BookBoyfriend
This is my honest and unbiased opinion. Thank you for taking the time to read it! 🙂

Hayden:

For the last decade, I’ve had the same crazy Christmas dream every holiday season.
It’s lovely, happy, sensual, and it’s total bullsh*t because there is no man like my dream man out there for me.
Luckily, the sexy dream only happens once a year, because if it happened more than that, it would be depressing, a constant reminder of what I have in reality.
In real life, I was just dumped by the latest loser in my life, a man who was just using me for my money, and a roof over his head.
Good riddance, right?
But things aren’t really all that simple.
Problem is, I don’t feel like I’m worthy of anything better because I’m a big girl, and I like my food if you know what I mean.
So I made a bargain with myself to stay away from men and dating completely for at least a year to give myself a break, and to try to find my self-esteem after dating a string of men who just didn’t want…me.
I thought that promise I made to myself would be easy to keep, and it was…until I met Jackson Gillette in Galveston while I was hiding out in my beach house licking my wounds from so many bad relationships.
Jackson is a gorgeous, drool-worthy kind of guy. In other words, he was trouble.
Men like him did not date women like me.
But when I realized that there’s so much more to Jackson than the eye can see, do I dare take a chance on realizing my Christmas dream?
After all, he might just be exactly what I want from Santa this year.

Author Note: If you’re looking for a traditional, sweet Christmas romance, you might want to move on. This is a sexy, panty melting, fantastical Christmas romance that’s heavily rolled in sugar sweet enough to satisfy your craving for Christmas cookies, with a big dose of Christmas magic. If that sounds like a great holiday reading to you, then dig in and enjoy!!

📝My Review📝:

Eggnog Makes Her Easy (Boys of the Big Easy)Eggnog Makes Her Easy by Erin Nicholas

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

4.5 Stars
I have been reading this author for a while now. I’ve always loved her books. As far as talent goes, she is a wonderful storyteller and always has me engaged in her books. This was actually my first book in the Boys of the Big Easy series. I definitely want to read the rest of the series. There are so many wonderful characters.

This story was so adorable and sexy at the same time. Lindsey and Matt have been married for ten years and have two young children, both boys. Matt is actively enlisted in the military, and the truth is he is away more than he is home. I’ll say right here that Lindsey is a one-in-million heroine. Not many women would be able to handle the absence of the man they love for most of the time they’ve been married. Lindsay never knows when Matt is going to be home or how long he is able to stay. I truly felt bad for Lindsey. This was not your typical romance. And I’ll admit, I expected more with the ending of this book. So, yes, I was a little disappointed after reading the last page. I just wanted more of the book and more for Lindsey and Matt as a couple. I don’t want to say much more; you’ll just have to read for yourself. I would like to add that my feelings about how the book ended is 100% a matter of preference and not based on the author’s talent for writing.

Because this is a fast-paced novella, I don’t want to give any details away. You can easily read this book in under a couple of hours. One more thing I would like to add, is after I finished reading this story, the characters stayed in my thoughts for very long time afterward. I just wish things would have been more easy for Lindsey and Matt. But one thing is for sure, their love was realistic and believable. I absolutely adored them as a couple. I respected them as well!

As I said earlier, I can’t wait to read the other books in this series. I absolutely recommend Egg Nog Makes Her Easy as a must read for the holidays. It will fill you with such emotions; your heart will be bursting with so many different feelings.

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂

My Review:

Dark ChildDark Child by Jo Raven

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Stars…

So anyone who reads my reviews probably knows how much I love this author. I have been a devoted fan since she released her first book, Asher. Every single one of her books gives me heart palpitations. Jo Raven is amazing at writing books where boundaries are always crossed, hearts are torn to shreds and life is not pleasant. Her characters, specifically her heroes, are broken, emotionally and sometimes physically tortured. They have strong physical attributes but their hearts are heavy. What I love most is while she puts her characters through emotional trauma, Jo will always give you their healing. That said, Dark Child was another amazing book by Jo Raven. This author still sits at number one on my favorite author’s list.

The genre of this book states contemporary romance. In addition, this book is dark, angsty, suspenseful and passionate. If you’ve read Jo’s previous books, you’ll know they all interconnect in some way. Merc is Gigi and Octavia’s younger brother. And we’ve met him several books ago when he was just 15/16 years old. He is now 19 and a college student. He has a part time job at Matt’s (his brother-in-law) garage. I will say that Merc was an amazing character. There was nothing about him I didn’t like, except the emotional torture he suffered in this book. My heart was so heavy for him.

I don’t want to go into any details for fear of spoiling anything for you. I can tell you that Merc suffers from horrific nightmares. He tries to keep this to himself but ends up being something he can’t handle on his own. When he meets Cosima at school, he is instantly attracted but confused by her hot/cold behavior toward him and this only adds to his already rising stress level. But sometimes things aren’t always what they seem. Cosima was a perfect heroine for Merc. She was the calm in his trauma.

There were some predictable aspects in this book. I loved how Jo gave Merc his healing. It wasn’t quick or easy which made his issues believable. And I’ll add that the dynamic of Merc and his family is precious. They are loving , protective and loyal to a fault.

There are several new characters introduced in Dark Child. I know will be giving us their stories soon. Of course we get tidbits and hunts of the premises and I have my suspicions where she may go. Especially with JC. I absolutely can’t wait for those books!

Dark Child can be read as a standalone. However, I found that having previously read the other sibling’s books, make me appreciate the story much more. So if you haven’t, I recommend you check out this author’s other books.

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you taking the time to read it. 🙂

Synopsis:

From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Ward, comes a new, sexy standalone novel.

We met in the least likely of places. It started out innocently enough. I was “ScreenGod” and she was “Montana,” but of course, those weren’t our actual names, just the virtual cloaks we hid behind.

Logging in at night and talking to her was my escape—my sanctuary.

Her real name was Eden, I’d soon come to find out.

From the first time we connected online, I found myself transfixed.

She was an addiction.

At first, we knew nothing about each other’s real identities…and she was adamant that we keep things that way. Anonymity had no effect on our unstoppable chemistry, though. If anything, it allowed us to open up even more in ways we may not have otherwise.

Eden was funny, intelligent, gorgeous—everything I’d ever wanted in a woman.

But I couldn’t really have her.

I had accepted things would have to stay the way they were—until the day I found a clue that led me straight to her.

So I took a chance.

And that was when our love story really began.

My Review:

Love OnlineLove Online by Penelope Ward

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Stars…

Before I even begin my review, I want to tell you that this author is amazing! I have read a few of her books and loved each one. Her writing style is addictive. You can’t help but turn pages until the end. I read this book in one sitting. Unfortunately I started it after dinner so I was exhausted by the time I turned the last page. I could barely keep my eyes open through the last chapters. I didn’t care. I was so engrossed in this story that there was no way I was going to be able to sleep unless I got my happily-ever-after first.

And oh how sweet it was.

You know from the blurb that Ryder and Eden first meet online. But what you don’t know are the specifics. I can tell you that I inferred wrong. It was not what I expected. I admit at first, I wasn’t sure that Eden would be a heroine I liked. But guess what? Not only did I love her, I respected the hell out of her! Eden is definitely one of my favorite heroines of the year.

And don’t even get me started on the perfection of Ryder. Just wow! What a sexy, sweet, caring man. A gentlemen in every sense of the word. Gosh, a character mold was definitely broken here.

As you know, Ryder and Eden meet online. At first, Ryder isn’t sure what he is feeling. But quickly, he becomes hooked. Eden isn’t like anyone he has ever met. She is not only beautiful, she is caring and completely selfless. But unfortunately, she is wary and wants to keep her true identity a secret. However, that does not deter Ryder from pursuing her.

There are secondary characters in this book that you will love. There may even be one or two you don’t. I found this book to be refreshing and real. There were sad moments that broke my heart. I worried over the angst and wondered where the author would take us. So, yes, while this book has a good amount of angst, I was so pleased with how there was little to no drama. Ryder and Eden grew in their relationship with each plot twist. They became one of my favorite book couples of the year. These two beautiful souls deserved love and they deserved that from each other.

I really need to read more of this author. Penelope Ward is quickly moving up my “favorites” list. So if you’re looking for a sexy read that is emotional and 100% swoon-worthy, I highly recommend Love Online.

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time read it. 🙂

Breck:
My name is Brecklyn Brannon, and I’m not who I claim to be.
A year ago, I packed up my promising life in the city for a man I saw only once.
Accepting a temporary job with Cade and four blazing hot veterans should have been my way in.

He can resist all he wants, but I made a promise that I intend to keep.
Even if it costs me everything.

Cade:
I’ve watched her for over a year.
There’s something about her that seems familiar… but now that she’s living here for two weeks, I could care less what it is.
I just want her gone.
Breck is temptation personified, and some lines can’t be crossed.
I’m Major Cade Jameson, and I made a promise, too.
One that I can’t break.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Stars…..

Of all the new releases I’ve read this year, Gorgeous by Kristy Marie was my most anticipated. If you’ve read book one in this series, then you already know why I was impatient for Cade’s story. This book is perfectly written with a steady flow. I experienced all the feels. While I would not call this book romantic comedy, there were many, many moments during my reading where I laughed out loud. When I wasn’t laughing, I was smiling. You can’t help but love each and every character. I don’t know how I am going to survive waiting for Hayes’s book.

Cade is a former marine suffering with the trauma of PTSD and guilt. His guilt was so consuming, it nearly killed him until he was saved by Anniston (Commander In Briefs, Anniston and Theo’s book). While he very slowly began to heal, you knew it would not be quick; he had a long way to go. Cade believes he deserves nothing in life that could bring him joy. It is only when Breck comes into his life that his walls start to come down. She would be his savior; he would be her family. Truly, the relationship that slowly grew between Cade and Break was beautiful to watch. I was so engrossed in this book, this author did such an amazing job of keeping me engaged. I was right there with Cade and Breck. Did Cade and Breck have an easy time? No! There is angst, there are secrets and there is true heartbreak. I won’t go into any details, you will have to read this amazing book for yourself. But I promise you an amazingly happy ending.

If you want to make this book an even better reading experience, I recommend to read book one, Commander In Briefs as well. I promise you won’t be sorry.

I’ll say it again, I absolutely can’t wait to read the next book in this series!

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂

Intimate moments for this couple

Synopsis:

Everyone knows that if you play with fire you’ll end up getting burned…

What happens when you attend a first responder’s bachelor auction with your best friends? Well, if your name is Madison Kelly like me, your friends end up bidding on a date for you with your high school crush.

That’s right. Even back when I was ‘Fatty Maddie’ to all my classmates, I had eyes for the quarterback of our football team. Not like I was the only one.

Mauro Bianco may fight fires for a living, but he still sets my heart ablaze. One look at the rugged, muscular man he’s turned into and I want to slide down his pole.

One date. That’s all I’m committed to. A few hours and I can tuck him back into that tattered old shoebox in my closet.

As always, the universe has other plans. I never would’ve predicted that in a matter of days he’d turn from my dream guy into my business partner-and that’s when things got interesting.

My Review:

Flirting with Fire (Blue Collar Brothers #1)Flirting with Fire by Piper Rayne

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Stars…

Another great beginning to yet another great series from Piper Rayne. The Blue Collar Brothers series introduces us to three sexy-as-sin men: a firefighter, a cop, and a paramedic. Did I mention these men are all hot Italian alphas AND their brothers!

As with all Piper Rayne books, I am excited when I open that first page. This book was no different. In fact I was even more excited because this author duo gives us one of my favorite tropes; you know, the one with “that” girl in high school who is not a “ten.” Maddie was that girl. She loved Mauro from afar because he didn’t give her the time of day. Except for once. It was the best couple of hours of Maddie’s structured life. But her joy didn’t last. Because the next day, things went back to normal. There is a story here which you will have to read on your own. I won’t spoil it for you.

Forward, about ten years later and Maddie and Mauro are reunited. The truth is they don’t get off to a great start. And the build of their relationship is slow but endearing to watch. Maddie is cautious and wary. Mauro doesn’t understand why but all he knows is that when he is with Maddie, he feels a connection that he can’t deny.

I loved watching their friendship build even before more happened between them. Maddie and Mauro had explosive chemistry. I felt their connection in my bones. Maddie has two friends that will be featured in the coming books along side Mauro’s brothers. Flirting With Fire has all the feels. Humor, intense chemistry, angst and even a bit of suspense. While Maddie and Mauro have their HEA, there are unanswered questions we have to anticipate the answers to regarding other characters. I love how all three of these books will be connected.

I have to say that Mauro has been added to my 2018 book boyfriend list. Oh..My..God! His grand gesture at the end was so beautiful. I melted into a puddle of goo. Let me add that not only is Mauro on that list, he is in my top ten! Maybe even my top five!

I absolutely recommend this book and look forward to the rest of the series. If you haven’t read anything by Piper Rayne, I believe you are missing out.

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂

Synopsis:

A struggling antiques collector finds herself falling in love with a millionaire playboy; but can she ever be a part of his world?

Meet the Naughty Princess Club, a series from USA Today bestselling author Tara Sivec that brings readers to Fairytale Lane and the hilarity—and romance—that three women fall into once they decide to strut their stuff and bring on their own happily ever after.

While her friends have broken free of their insecurities, Ariel Waters is struggling to come out of her shell. Her ex-husband took away her voice and her self-confidence, and Ariel is drowning under a sea of debt to afford the alimony she has to pay him. She refuses to ever fall for a man’s charms again, and is determined to make her own way.

When her house and her beloved antiques are taken by the bank after too many missed payments, Ariel finds herself adrift until the infuriatingly charming Eric Sailor comes to her rescue. Although she can’t stand the millionaire playboy, Eric’s kindness and unconditional support reveal hidden depths and a love that Ariel never imagined she could find.

But there are outside influences who will stop at nothing to keep them apart; can Ariel and Eric weather the storm and find a way to be together?

My Review:

Kiss the Girl (The Naughty Princess Club, #3)Kiss the Girl by Tara Sivec

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Stars…..

Oh yes! What a fun book!

Amazing! Sexy! Sinful! And so, so romantic! I am in complete love with this book! Kiss The Girl is book three in the Naughty Princess Club series. Each book is very loosely related to a fairytale. In this book we have the story of Eric and Ariel.

Ariel is a sassy, stubborn independent woman with a great deal of emotional baggage all in thanks to her ex. I won’t get into the details of that because as the story unfolds, so does the cause of Ariel’s issues. At first, I admit I wasn’t a big fan of hers. While I did meet her in the previous book, her true colors weren’t depicted. That said, as I got to know her, I understood her attitude towards the world. I empathized greatly for her and became her metaphoric bodyguard.

Ariel and her two best friends, Cindy and Belle, have started a stripping business to make ends meet. All three women were down on their luck and demeaned by men in their lives who should have supported them. Are they promiscuous? Absolutely not. These women are strong and do what they need to do. The men that became their heroes couldn’t be more perfect for them.

Now let’s talk about Eric. He comes off as cocky and arrogant. But you’ll soon learn he is also sweet, sensitive, considerate, sexy, loyal and the absolute perfect hero. The truth is, he was so amazing that at the moment I can’t even think of any of the other heroes that made my favorites list this year.

I don’t want to give away any spoilers. Even though this is based on a fairytale, trust me when I say it is not completely predictable. That was another aspect I loved in the book. I have read a few books by this author. I have enjoyed each one. I love romantic comedy and Tara Sivec has written some of my favorites. Her writing is addictive, fast paced and creative, and you can’t help but devour her books. I read this book in one sitting, undisturbed through a terrible headache. I accepted the pain easily because in the end I would have my happily-ever-after. I loved the end. Eric was amazing! And even better yet, was the extra epilogues from Belle and Cindy. If I could have had any wish for this book, I would have loved to have Eric’s POV as well. I would have swooned even more being inside his head.

I laughed out loud. I even teared up. Most especially, I swooned. While I recommend reading the series in order, Kiss The Girl can be read as a standalone. A series that is truly a breath of fresh air.

This is my honest and unbiased opinion. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂
