Title: Training Maisy
Author: Samantha Morgan
Genre: Plus Size 2nd Chance Romance
Release Date: June 6, 2019

No stranger to the wild world of domination, Carter can spot a woman with a deep need for total submission from a mile a way. And the beautiful, but broken Maisy is just begging for it.

After joining a gym, a steamy night with Maisy’s personal trainer leads to more heartbreak when he tells her they can never be an item. He uses the gym’s policy as an excuse, but Maisy knows the truth: she’s just not desirable.
Carter thinks he’s protecting Maisy, but really, he’s protecting himself. His feelings seemingly come out of nowhere and he doesn’t know how to handle them. So he does what he does best: he runs. This way, he’s safe.
But she isn’t.
When Maisy’s abusive ex comes back into her life, she finally finds the inner strength to get rid of him for good. Only one problem: she’ll need Carter’s help to pull it off. Turning to him might hurt her pride…or reignite the passion between them. But the real question is whether their relationship will survive when her ex refuses to take no for an answer.

Hey! So my name is Samantha, and I’m a part time romance author, who attends classes during the day, and writes sinful seductive romantic by night. When I’m not in school studying for my NASM Certification, I also work as a portrait photographer at a small local studio near the parks of Ohio.

Some fun facts about me are that I love apple martinis and my favorite movies are Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, The Matrix and Star Wars. I’m a gamer girl too. If you can believe it, I have more video game consoles then I do shoes! Animals are close to my heart; I have a wild old female, dark brown doxen named Nikki who still acts like a puppy and I’ve always dreamed about having a dragon.

My favorite thing to do is to write sinfully, seductive stories that will melt your panties off, and emotional stories that will make you cry, and rejoice when the hero gets the girl in the end.

📝My Review📝:

Locked Up LoveLocked Up Love by Alexa Riley

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 Stars
I haven’t read a book from this author duo in a while. Matter of fact, I can’t remember which book of theirs I read last. For no other reason than my lack of time is the culprit. That said, I enjoyed Locked Up Love very much. Just as I remembered the style of writing by this author duo, I felt right at home. It was fast paced, sexy and delightfully over-the-top as is usual with their alpha heroes.

Before they could even develop a natural relationship, Rocco is sent off to jail. I won’t go into details because you’ll want to read this on your own. Regardless of the fact they barely knew each other, in addition to the fact that he was in prison, Rocco and Lizzy managed to connect on an intense level. These two were made for each other before they even had the chance to officially meet. While in prison, these two managed to grow a relationship that started with writing letters. That relationship was strong, bonded in love and yes, protectiveness and possessiveness; another Alexa Riley trademark.

So, again, no more details from me. I will say that I enjoyed this book and am very happy to have read Rocco and Lizzy’s story. While it was over-the-top instalove, it was also sweet and endearing.

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you taking the time to read it. 🙂

My Review:

The Shifter's Secret BabyThe Shifter’s Secret Baby by T. S. Ryder

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

3.5 Stars to The Shifter’s Secret Baby written by T. S. Ryder.

Eric and Kayla…….

This is a very short, sweet story. Eric is a billionaire alpha wolf shifter. Kayla is a curvy human with insecurities that caused her to run from a future she could have had with Eric. Three years prior to the beginning of this book, they were together for a brief love affair. Eric expected Kayla to be with him forever. I’m going to be honest, I did not like Kayla. She made choices I didn’t approve of and her character was overly self-depreciating.

Kayla let her insecurities and what others said about her convince her she was not good enough for Eric, who was an alpha. So she ran. After she found out she was pregnant, she still stayed away. It’s a matter of preference for me that I do not like a heroine that keeps her pregnancy hidden; doesn’t give a chance for her baby to know his/her father. That premise just rubs me the wrong way.

Three years after they were together, Eric and Kayla meet by chance. To say, she is both shocked and dismayed and even a little hopeful, is an understatement. Naturally, Eric was shocked as well. He is upset at Kayla for leaving him the way she did and even more so when he finds out he has a daughter.

Luckily, the angst between them is resolved quickly and a new threat arises in the form of disgruntled vampires. There was some light violence and suspense to give the story a bit of excitement.

Eric’s brother is a secondary character that I just adored. He was sweet and funny and very protective. When we first met him, I had hopes he might get his own story. However due to circumstances happening, I’m not sure that will happen. Oh well.

So overall, I enjoyed this book. The reason I didn’t rate it higher was due to lack of character development and a lot of typos. Would I read more from this author? Yes, definitely. The writing flowed well and the pace was steady. I do believe that the reason for lack of development may have been due to the fact that this book was only 63 pages.

Only, she soon realizes that swimming lessons with him aren’t that bad. In fact, she begins to look forward to them – to cool water and warm hands, to the safety and trust that he offers. Dan and Cathy…..

Cathy is a woman who is not very secure in her appearance. She is a beautiful woman; however curvy and plump. She believes it’s because of her weight that she has bad luck with relationships.

Until she meets a man who is the epitome of a dream come true. He is gorgeous, sexy and interested in her! But will Cathy let her insecurities get in the way of what is probably the best thing to ever happen to her?

Dan is a single father, recently divorced. His only goal in life right now is to provide his son, Ricky, a stable and happy life. The last thing Dan should do is let himself be distracted by a woman. But that happens despite his efforts to keeps things with Cathy casual.

Dan and Cathy develop deep feelings for each other. Hearts are involved now and that was not in Dan’s plans. Both Dan and Cathy decided to keep their relationship hidden for now. Dan did not want any disruptions in Ricky’s life. Cathy was Ricky’s teacher and could very well lose her job.

A situations occurs which breaks them up. Cathy is heartbroken and Dan is not fairing much better. But then a second incident happens that prevents them from avoiding each other.

Can these two find a way to make it work?

Lifesaver was a safe, sweet story about two hearts falling for each other despite life getting in the way. The pace was steady and I read this book pretty quickly. Both Dan and Cathy were likable characters, however I didn’t feel a strong connection with them. That could be because I felt they were apart more than together. But that could just be me. That said, I did enjoy the book. Harper Dell has a few other books in this Love Bites holidays series that I would definitely like to read.

Silent Bear (North Pole, #2)Silent Bear by Ruby Shae

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sweet and sexy Christmas Romance.
“Silent Bear” North Pole Series Two is by Ruby Shae.
Published: November 15,, 2014
Read: December 12, 2016
My Rating: 4 Stars

I absolutely love Ruby Shae’s bears. All of her novellas are steady to fast paced and can be read in a couple of hours. Her heroines are typically voluptuous and curvy; just what her large bear shifters are looking for in their mates. Ruby’s heroes are largely built, sexy, tough, protective and loyal. Ruby is an author I like to keep an eye on.

The premise of the North Pole series is how the polar bear shifters of the North Pole find their mates. Each bear has their own personality and they are all sexy! These polar bears are the enforcers/protectors of Santa’s village/town and all the humans and shifters that reside there. The cast of characters not only bring fun, love and romance, but there is witty banter and quirkiness with some light angst. And of course they all have HEAs.

Mark Halverson and Tracey Johnson…..

Mark is a polar bear shifter, an enforcer and protector of Santa’s village. For the past year he has been in love with his mate Tracey, an arctic fox shifter. One hot kiss, one misunderstanding later has a year of time wasted. Mark refuses to give up hope; he’s patient and there’s nothing more he wants than Tracey. She is his mate, his love, his to protect and cherish.

Tracey has been trying to gets Mark’s attention for a long time. One night a year ago, she’s finds the courage to confess her growing feelings to him. It seemed he felt the same way. They shared a life changing, passionate kiss but the next day Mark acted like it never happened. As a result, Tracey was heartbroken. Now a year after that scorching kiss, with no hope of Mark showing interest in Tracey, she is ready to give up.

Of course the adorable craziness begins and then they start to make progress. I really loved Mark! He was so sigh-worthy. And Tracey was kind and sweet. Together they made a fun and sexy couple.

This second book in this series was another winner for me; a perfect Christmas romance!

Sweet RideSweet Ride by Dani Wyatt

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“Sweet Ride” is written by author Dani Wyatt.
Published: December 22, 2016
My Rating: 4 Stars

Ok, first I’m gonna say this book is a raunchy, sexy, instalove novella with a dirty-talkin’ alpha hero. Oh and did I mention he is covered in tats and rides a motorcycle? When it comes to his woman, CeeCee, Thorne suffers from OPD. (obsessive, possessive disorder. 😉 ) He is also sweet and romantic too. “Sweet Ride” had a little suspense and danger to make it an even better story. But that danger was no match for Thorne. No one messes with, or threatens what’s his.

Thorne and CeeCee…..

Thorne is an ex-felon that has turned his dishonest past into something amazing and prosperous. He is the owner of a chain of specialty donut shops. He has wealth and friends but something is missing in his life. Love. Thorne was ok with that because his new life is honest and successful so he won’t complain. But his resolved attitude changes quickly when he first sets eyes on a beautiful, curvy siren with a musical voice, and who’s proximity takes his breath away. Thorne wants this delicate, beautiful woman. In fact, without so much as speaking a single word to her, Thorne has decided she belongs to him. OPD at it’s finest!

CeeCee is guarded and cautious. She ran from the past and as a result is constantly looking over her shoulder. So it was a complete, but pleasant, surprise to her how easily Thorne crashed down the walls of her guarded heart.

What follows is a lot of dirty, steamy sex. Thorne and CeeCee are instantly finding themselves exclusive with each other. There is nothing or no one than can break their bond. But alas, a blast from the past threatens their happily ever after.

I won’t give any details away. This story is pretty short and fast-paced as well so you’ll want to experience Thorne and CeeCee’s “Sweet Ride” on your own.

I can tell you there is no cheating or angst; just a small bit of suspense and danger that is quickly resolved. The ending was sweet and I adored the two epilogues; they added even more sweetness to the story.

The Blurb:

Curvy girl, Melinda Snow, is one of the few unmated humans living in Santa’s Village, the magical hidden world also known as the North Pole. Unlike her existence in the human world, her life is filled with friendship and happiness, but it still lacks love and romance, two things she secretly craves.

Life has never been easy for polar bear shifter, Joel Edwards. Unlike the other Enforcers who provide security for Santa and the Pole, he’s the only one who’s different in more ways than one. Finding a mate never felt like a possibility until he saw Mindy for the first time.

When Joel finally makes a move, and asks Mindy out, she flat-out rejects him, and suddenly, his differences are harder to ignore. Mindy likes Joel, but she can’t date a man that doesn’t know his own mind, even if he is all she wants for Christmas. With a little help from Santa, can these two lonely hearts get mated by Christmas, or will mix-ups and mistakes and keep them apart forever?

Who would have thought Santa Claus likes to play matchmaker? Well, he does love making people happy. This sweet story is about how Polar bear shifter, Joel Edwards romances curvy human, Melinda-Mindy-Snow.

Both Joel and Mindy have less than happy pasts. They both believe they won’t have a happily ever after. Joel knows that Mindy is his mate but he thinks that she deserves better than himself.

Mindy is a human so she does not experience the strong pull one mate has for another. However she is attracted to Joel and likes him a lot.

This story has misunderstandings that get in the way at first but Joel is determined to win Mindy over. Joel makes many sweet and romantic gestures. I loved him so much! And I adored Mindy as well. She helped Joel realize that his past doesn’t define him and that he deserves her love just as much as she deserves his. A total swoon worthy read.

I don’t know if this was the last book in this series but I hope not!

Quinn Miller and Chloe Winters….

Quinn is a polar bear shifter living only to protect Santa’s village. He is all work and NO play. Quinn is a grumpy bear living with memories of a past he wishes he could forget. Quinn refuses to open his heart again to the possibility of love for fear that he can’t trust his judgement. And because of this, he is lonely and ill-tempered. However, Santa has decided that Quinn will brood no more! That said, much to his annoyance, Quinn is sent away on vacation. This is where he discovers his true mate, to his surprise. Now that he has found her, he’ll have to find a way to convince her to trust in him. Not easy since she is a human and knows nothing about shifters.

Chloe Winters is a human. After a bad breakup she sets out to celebrate a well deserved Christmas all by herself. She ends up in a Christmas village type destination. It is here she meets the most gorgeous stranger she ever laid eyes on. Unfortunately he is a grumpy and rude.

I loved watching Chloe and Quinn discover their feelings for each other. Their attraction was instant however the path to their happily ever after was not overly rushed and I loved every minute of it. My favorite was watching grumpy Quinn change into a totally different person. When he decided to open his heart again to the possibility of love, he became a swoon worthy hunk of a hot bear!

The Blurb:

Polar bear shifter, Wade Sullivan, is an enforcer in Santa’s Village at the North Pole. When he’s not protecting the man in red, he spends his time drumming for free in a local cover band. When a friend asks for a favor, he finds himself playing for a much larger crowd, but only one woman can keep his attention.

Curvy, plus-sized human, Danica North has sworn off any man who plays in a band. As a waitress in a popular club, she’s been there, done that and thrown out the t-shirt. It doesn’t matter that the drummer in the new band is sinfully sexy and makes her feel things she hasn’t felt in almost two years; all musicians are off-limits.

Wade can’t believe he found his mate during his first gig with the new band. Dani is absolutely perfect except for one thing: she doesn’t date musicians. Not one to be deterred, he settles for friendship, but it isn’t long before Dani realizes she wants her friend way too much. Can she trust Wade enough to change her rules, or will she spend another Christmas alone?

Polar Bear shifter, Wade Sullivan and curvy human, Danica North…..

This was another adorable and fun addition to the North Pole Bear series. The holiday season is very busy for me as I’m sure it is for many. My favorite things to do are watch Christmas movies and read Christmas romances. Reading them any other time of the year just isn’t the same. This year I read so many wonderful books and Ruby Shaes’ bears were among them.

Wade is one of the protectors of Santa’s village. He is built heavy with muscles, very tall, good looking and sexy. But he is also kind, patient and protective. Especially when it comes to his mate, Danica. She is wary to get involved with him because he is a musician. But Wade isn’t deterred. She belongs to him and he will be what she needs until she realizes they are meant to be together.

Danica is a human living among shifters. She doesn’t mind. She loves her friends, her home and her job. She is also attracted to a sexy polar bear shifter. Unfortunately he is a drummer playing in a popular band. Been there…done that…got burned. Danica doesn’t want to chance getting hurt again. But how much longer will she be able to keep Wade in the friend zone?

As I said earlier, I loved this book and I look forward to more by this author. If you like shifter romances, Christmas and short, quick stories….I recommend this one along with the whole series!
