A love controlled by guilt, contained by rules… One summer will change everything.
No blah, blah, blah.
He wrote the rules onto our skin—every ink stroke tragically smeared by the lines we’d crossed.
He claimed it was the only way we could be together—the only way we wouldn’t destroy our families.
But there was an exception to his rules—one he never saw coming.
All I needed was opportunity and a sunburn.
The girl who played by his rules is gone.
This girl… is not his “friend.”
My 📝Review📝 : 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
“Welcome To The Summer Of No Rules, Jameson.”
I am feeling a lot of pressure right now! How can my review do this book justice? Can my simple words give Rebellious the credit it deserves for being one of the best romances I have ever read? Doubtfully, so I’ll just stick to what’s in my bursting heart. So. Many. Emotions.
This book can be read as a standalone, however I believe you will have a greater reading experience if you’ve experienced a few things beforehand. Things that can be found in two previous books, Commander In Briefs & Gorgeous.. Theo and Cade’s stories. Theo and Cade are the fathers of Aspen and Bennett.
Aspen and Bennett grew up together, literally right next door. They are as close as two friends can be without crossing any lines. That is not to say they wouldn’t like to. Aspen and Bennett have been in love for so long, been each others security and pretty soon that may all come to a heartbreaking end. You see there are reasons why they can’t act on their feelings for each other, hence the reasons for Bennett’s never-ending list of rules. Rules that cannot be broken, ever. Fortunately for those two, Aspen likes to try and break the rules testing Bennett’s solidarity constantly.
I really can’t go into any details. A huge part of my pleasure came from the experience. This book is very emotional; it will break your heart over and over. You may even wonder how Aspen and Bennett will find a happily-ever-after together. While this book is intense and very angsty, the author adds plenty of humor and heartwarming moments with characters from previous books.
Kristy Marie’s writing is steady and flawless taking poignant dialogue and giving readers the beautiful prose we desire when searching for the perfect read. And I constantly find that feeling with all of Kristy’s books. You can easily infer that she takes her time; her stories are realistic and passionate and deserve high praise. I highly recommend this book and all of her works. They are keepers.
While I received an advanced reading copy of Rebellious, this is my honest and unbiased review and I thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂
