We barely knew each other back then. What kind of chance do we have now?

Twenty plus years ago, I shared a magical, tragic kiss with my secret crush. Silver was every girl’s dream–and I was a socially awkward rich girl. We lived on different sides of town and ran in totally different crowds. When we bumped into each other that fateful night, no words were spoken–our souls knew who we were to one another. But life rolled on and off to college we both went. Never to see each other again.

Until now.

When Silver steps back into my life unexpectedly, my world stops. His looks have only intensified over the years, and when he says my name “Gin,” for the first time again… I melt.

Is my dream coming to life for the second time?

My 📝Review📝: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

SilverSilver by A.E. Gamrat

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First, I want to tell you that I was on the fence between four or five stars. This book was written beautifully. Every word set the stage for great dialogue and the monologue gave me the perfect picture. I was there! I love being “in” the book, watching things unfold up close and personal. We all have heard of the expression, “fly on the wall.” Well, I felt like one. In addition, this is my first book by A.E. Gamrat. Though I have seen this author’s name many times, I never read one of her books. Yay for me to find a new author!

Silver and Ginny…..
These two, now forty-somethings, knew each other when they were in their late teens. Both had a crush on the other but circumstances kept them from doing anything about it. But they did have one moment that neither one has ever forgotten. Ginny went off to college they never saw each other again. Both living lives that could have been better. Almost thirty years later, they meet by chance and both realize in that moment that they wished they were more than the barely friends they were. While Ginny was free of her ex-husband and living on her own, she began to find herself; the woman she was always meant to be. I don’t want to give away too many details as you will want to experience these characters on your own. But I will say that at first, I wasn’t sure of my feelings for her. I know she went through a less than stellar marriage but she came off a bit winey and a little too independent. Of course, I understand the reasons for that having read the book but still, it made me a bit critical of her. After she reconnected with Silver, I truly worried, because of how she wanted to be on her own, that she might break his heart. But then as you read on, you’ll see that Ginny has many insecurities that Silver will have to help her overcome.

Silver is one of my all-time favorite 2020 heroes! He had such an amazing, lovable personality. Silver was determined that Ginny would not get away from him a second time, status be damned. As much as Silver was determined, he was vulnerable. Hence the reason I was afraid he’d unintentionally end up with a broken heart if he didn’t tread carefully.

Even though the chemistry and attraction was immediate, both Ginny and Silver’s relationship developed very slowly. And while I wished it would move a bit quicker, in the end I was glad that it didn’t. This book has so many realistic qualities and relatable moments for me. My strong connection was to Silver. If he was a woman, he would be me.

There are a great deal many secondary characters in Silver. Ginny has two amazing friends that I can’t help but to wish a happy ending for. Maybe one day in the future we’ll get to read about them. This book is one I definitely recommend to my friends.

This is my honest and unbiased opinion. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂
