Why are bad boys so good?

Meet the infamous Ross, black sheep of the family and bully extraordinaire.

I drink too much, smoke too much, screw around. I’ve hurt people, been in
and out of prison. I’m a bastard, a beast.

I’m a goddamn bundle of joy.

I mean, my own dad tried to kill me, what does that tell you?

Then again, my dad did kill my mom, so maybe it isn’t just me. Who the hell

The world sucks and I’m giving it the finger in every damn way, except…

Except there’s a girl. Pretty. Hot. Clever. She didn’t get the memo – that
she should hate me, shun me, kick me when I’m down. That the world screwed
us all over. She believes in the future – and sometimes she seems to even
believe in me.

Big mistake. I’m bad news. I made her suffer in the past, and nothing has
changed. I’m not an angel, not a saint. No good.

But for some reason I don’t get, I can’t let her go down with me. I find
myself trying to be better for her, pretending to be someone I’m not.

And if that doesn’t ring some damn big alarm bells regarding my sanity,
well… then I’m done already.

* This is the story of Ross, half-brother to Octavia, Gigi and Merc, set in
the Wild Men series *

Coming soon. ⠀

#Ross #NoSaint #Bully #romance⠀#JoRaven

Real life outside school is different. It has to be. I have to believe it.
Luna the frightened unpopular girl is gone, too. Now I am the new Luna, and
like the new moon I am in darkness until I reveal myself, reborn.

Hey, it sounds good in theory, all right? It gives me a plan, a purpose. I
can do this. Be the new me who isn’t so shy and insecure, who doesn’t go
red when someone laughs or points at her. I am good enough. I need
to believe it.

Who cares if I’m not all that pretty? I’ve brains, and smarts, and I will
make something of my life.

Once I get through this Summer, that is. And save some money. And decide
what I do next.

My cousin says I should get a degree, maybe in web design and graphics.
Move to a city, get a good job in a company. That I can do it.

My thoughts return to Ross and what my dad and Josh said about him.

That he’s still here. Hanging around. That his dad attacked him.

That’s so screwed up.

Worse still, why can’t I get him out of my mind? It’s hard to stop thinking
about him. Not only because he taunted me and tormented me—but also because
he was the sexiest, hottest guy in school.

And the world, probably.

What a pity he’s such an asshole.

Brilliant, but overworked California accountant, Rachel Mills, inherits an old bookstore in Marietta, Montana, just as she’s been passed over for a huge promotion. The smart thing to do would be to buckle down and keep on working. But for the first time in her life, she goes with impulsive and books a flight to Montana to inspect the bookstore, and hopefully have her first white Christmas ever.

Texan lawyer and entrepreneur, Atticus Bowen, has found the perfect location for his next restaurant—the two-story, turn-of-the-century brick building on Marietta’s Main Street. All he has to do is convince the new owner to sell Paradise Books to him. After all, used bookstores aren’t practical or viable businesses, and he’s making Rachel Mills a very generous offer. But instead of jumping on his offer, Rachel decides she’s going to open the bookstore doors for December and ‘explore her options.’

The last thing Rachel expected was to fall in love with the old bookstore, or charming Marietta. She never expected sparks to fly with handsome, arrogant Atticus Bowen, either. Smart, practical Rachel realizes she just might be falling in love with the sexy, opinionated Texan lawyer — something that could prove to be neither smart, nor practical….or the best decision of her life.

Oh, Christmas NightOh, Christmas Night by Jane Porter

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I don’t need any excuse to visit Tule Publishing’s stories set in Marietta, Montana. In fact, I’m always anticipating the next. I absolutely love the Montana Born books this publisher offers. In fact, I find a lot of new favorite authors. Oh, Christmas Night was a sweet, endearing story. Not only did this novel give us a true love story, but also a Christmas experience; Marietta style. In addition, Jane Porter is an author I have read many times over and her writing is incredible. Her talent for storytelling is the main aspect why I keep coming back for more.

Rachel Mills, a successful accountant in California has once again been passed over for a promotion she believes should have been hers. She is dealing with the stigma of being a woman in a business in which it’s blatantly obvious if she were a man, she’d have had a promotion years prior. Is Rachel wasting her time with this company? If so, what other options does she have career wise?

When Rachel receives the gift of a bookstore in Marietta, Montana she is flabbergasted. Her godmother wants Rachel to take over the store and make it her own. Of course, Rachel isn’t interested in moving to Montana, yet she is intrigued enough to go and see this store.

Atticus Bowen is a real estate lawyer and restaurant owner. His next endeavor is to open one of his restaurants in Marietta. He wants the bookstore. But as badly as he wants the building, he does not want to undermine Rachel. He makes a generous offer but Rachel has decided to think about it while opening the store and see if it will be profitable.

I very much enjoyed the banter and growing attraction between Rachel and Atticus. Let me say here that while Atticus is the epitome of sexy, successful, wealthy business man, he is first and foremost a gentleman. Atticus was kind, considerate and generous. I truly adored his character. Rachel on the other hand has had a tough past. It’s one of the reasons she needs to be successful. because of her past, Rachel is a no-nonsense, overachiever who wants nothing more to be taken seriously and be successful. Sadly because of this, Rachel is a bit boring and a lot standoffish. So, it took me longer to connect with her. However, her persona began to change soon after her arrival in Marietta.

There were so many sweet moments between Rachel and Atticus. Towards the last chapters, the angst began to build and you could literally feel what was coming. Insecurity took a hold of Rachel and almost cost her the love of a great man. I enjoyed this book very much. I also loved getting to read about some of my favorite Marietta citizens.

If you are looking for some amazing Christmas romances, check out Tule Publishing’s website and see the amazing books that are currently available or coming soon!

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂

Christmas is a time for family…

A mystery brings Ally Monroe to the idyllic seaside town of Cape Hope, North Carolina. On the quest to find out more about the father who abandoned her, Ally has no intention of getting too involved in the community. Only Cape Hope has a way of drawing people in and, before Ally knows it, she’s falling hard and fast in love with the whole town and its old-fashioned, charming ways – and particularly local single-dad Luke Miller and his adorable daughter Stella.

Volunteer firefighter Luke has been single since his wife died in childbirth six years earlier, making Stella his sole priority. But there’s something compelling about the beautiful out-of-towner and, before long, both Luke and his daughter are welcoming Ally into their home.

She came to Cape Hope looking for family and instead Ally found her way to Luke and Stella– but will they still want her when they realize she’s been lying to them about who she really is and what she’s doing in town?

Christmas with the Firefighter (Cape Hope, #1)Christmas with the Firefighter by Clare Connelly

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Christmas with the Firefighter is the first book in the Cape Hope Series which I believe will be a great series to binge. Christmas with the Firefighter is emotionally charged and while the story takes place over the Christmas holidays, there is much more to it. Both the hero and heroine are dealing with some emotional baggage.

Single father and widower, Luke Miller is an upstanding guy. He is ex military and currently a firefighter and handyman. He is doing his best to raise his young daughter. But as any single father of a young girl, Luke is still learning the ropes of fatherhood. It isn’t until Ally comes into his life that he thinks, just maybe, he is ready to find love again. He truly wasn’t looking for love again until he met Ally and their attraction couldn’t be denied. Their connection was strong and believable.

Ally is in town temporally and for one reason only. She is looking for her father to confront him for walking out of her life when Ally was still a child. There is a heartbreaking story there which I will let you read about on your own. While in Cape Hope, Ally is trying to stay low key. She is not planning to stay long, or date while in town. But once she meets Luke and his little girl, Ally finds herself tormented with her feelings of attraction. Since she wasn’t planning to stay, Ally didn’t think it was necessary to tell anyone the real reason she was in town. But as we know, secrets aren’t a good thing. Especially when they come to light and Ally is confronted before she has the chance to explain herself.

There were moments with Ally that had me tearing up. Even years later, as an adult, my heart still broke for the child who was abandoned by her father. Aside from Luke and Ally finding a happily-ever-after, I was really hoping that Ally and her dad would find each other again. This was truly a heartwarming book and I recommend it.

This is my first book by this author. It definitely won’t be my last. I’ll be looking out for more in the Cape Hope series.

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂

📝My Review📝: 🌟🌟🌟🌟

End GameEnd Game by Dee Ellis

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a story of young love and how a variety of obstacles are prominent in getting in the way of a happily-ever-after. End Game is separated into three parts with two epilogues. The first half of the book is full of teenage drama. I swear, I felt like I was back in high school. In my mind, I was laughing because there were quite a few connections in this book for me during that first 45%. No, I was never lucky enough to catch the attention of the star quarterback however, my true connection was with Paisley, Hailie’s friend. While this book is Connor and Hailee’s story, we get a lot of Bran and Paisley as well. Just wondering if there will be a book in the future about them after college years.

So anyway, Hailee is the daughter of a retired military man. She has two wonderful parents and two protective brothers who will do anything for her. New to town, Hailee has grabbed the attention of Connor, the handsome, popular quarterback, who just so happens to be her neighbor. I want to mention that this book is a love-at-first-sight trope. In addition, Connor is an intense, over-the-top possessive hero. First friends, the growing relationship between Connor and Hailee is extremely intense. They were both possessive of one another and overly dramatic in several ways. While the sexual tension is a steadily growing burn, Connor and Hailee take things slow.

I don’t want to say anything about how the story unfolds because as I said earlier, there is quite a bit of teenage drama and the first half of the book was a little frustrating and monotonous at times. Because of the passion and heart of the H/h, I eagerly read on and truly enjoyed the second half of the book. As the few years passed since Connor and Hailee met, new obstacles brought out their maturity and the story became more endearing to me. Less over-the-top dramatic and more real life experiences. Once you finish reading, you won’t have a single doubt that these two absolutely adore each other. Their love for one another was so powerful and I was so happy with the ending. I especially enjoyed the bonus epilogue. It gives hope when there is darkness and fear for the future. Connor and Hailee learn that time is precious and they plan to live every day to the fullest.

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂
