Newly widowed, the last thing Amy Malone wanted was to inherit On the Sound, a dilapidated B&B located on remote Lopez Island. But, when she found herself drowning in grief, she fled to Lopez Island—and began a new life.

Movie star Ben Morrison held Hollywood—and an Oscar nomination—in the palm of his hand. But, as the years ticked on, he floundered in the tailspin of one bad movie after another. The world he’d so carefully built crashed down around him after a drunken interview on national TV.

When Ben books an extended stay at On the Sound to hide from the paparazzi, he expects to rediscover his passion for his craft…or decide to call it quits for good. He isn’t expecting sparks to fly with his beautiful innkeeper. Amy’s more than willing to indulge in what starts out as a no strings attached fling. But, both Ben and Amy are caught off guard by their ever-growing connection, leaving Amy to wonder—can she risk losing her heart once again?

📝My Review📝:

Love on the Sound (Lopez Island Series #1)Love on the Sound by Jamie Matthews

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

4.5 Stars.
This is my fist book by Jamie Matthews. Truthfully, I’m not sure I would have known this book even existed if it weren’t for the Foster An Author 2018 event being hosted on FB. I won this title in one of the many contests going on. I only entered the contest after reading the blurb. It sounded like a book that I would really enjoy, and I did. Love On The Sound has all the feels you look for in your perfect read. One specific aspect I appreciated the most was the character developments of Jamie and Ben. Both Jamie and Ben grew as individuals from the beginning. Both went through their own issues of heartbreak and sadness. In the end they healed each other. But to get to their happily-ever-after was not easy.

After Amy lost her husband, she needed a new start. So she took over a B&B that belonged to her husband’s family. The majority of the book takes place on the Lopez Islands. I’ve actually never heard of them before. However this author took me there with her talented words. I could clearly see what the characters saw; there was no need for me to use my own imagination.

Ben is a Hollywood actor who made some bad decisions and ended up in a place he felt lost. He needed a get away so he set out for the Lopez Islands to reinvent himself, to find out what his true passion in life was. You can guess that in the end, being in front of the camera was not it.

I don’t want to give anything away in the story. This book was a bit longer than what I’m used to but I didn’t mind. I was engaged throughout by the story, by the secondary characters, and the beauty that is Lopez Island. For a debut book, it was very good and I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂
