Sometimes even the nerd gets the girl.
One too many nights sleeping in front of his computer has made Jameson a rising star in the technology world. But when a mysterious woman seeks the help of his family he puts his career on hold to protect her. She shows him that there is more to life than a computer screen one kiss at a time. Now, if only he can convince her to stay.
After losing her parents in a tragic accident, Poppy spent her childhood being raised by her elderly grandmother only wanting the chance to find the same love that her parents had. Her knight in shining armor turns out to be her nightmare and Poppy is left racing with her two daughters toward the last place she remembers feeling safe. But she never expects to find security in the arms of a career-driven tech geek.

I am having trouble articulating expressive words to describe how much I enjoyed this book; how much I’ve loved this series. Sadly, Jameson is the last family member to have his story told. But there are a number of secondary characters that we met along the way in which I hope Renee Harless will consider writing about. The town of Carson is one of those charming, quirky small towns that we fall in love with. And this particular town may be full of loving citizens, but they are also fearlessly loyal and intense. Don’t mess with this town.
Jameson and Poppy…..
Jameson is the last and youngest Connolly to find true love. And when he finds it, he holds on tight. Jameson is a strong character. From the previous books, we can definitely infer he is the nerdy member of the family. But it is blatantly obvious that he is the smartest too. Successful and beyond wealthy at his young age is nothing short of amazing. Let’s not forget he is gorgeous!
Poppy is sweet. She is a single mother on the run from an abusive ex. Finally, Poppy found a chance to leave and she took it. Her destination purposefully took her to Carson where a certain family would be her saviors. I loved how this played out. For the most part, this story has been done before, but Renee Harless gave it a twist. There is some mystery and suspense added to the premise and I will admit, I was pleasantly surprised where the author took this.
Of course I can’t say much more without spoiling the book for you. I do however want to say that if you haven’t read this series, I highly recommend it. Each book can be read as a stand alone, however for greater reading enjoyment, I highly recommend the whole series be read in order. Welcome to Carson just may end up being your next binge read!
