Crystal Cove gives people a chance to redeem themselves
Beckett Potter came to Crystal Cove for redemption. To give himself over to the church and the town that his family took so much from. Potters know nothing but taking, but he’s not like his family. But when he meets Eve at church, all he can think of is taking. Taking her, owning her, making her his. Beckett lost his innocence a long time ago.
Eve is a lot more innocent than she looks. Just twenty-one, she looks like a tempting pin-up with her curves and rock-a-billy style but knows little about temptation. Religion kept her sheltered even though it also brought her peace. That is, at least, until the new deacon makes her suddenly want some sinful things!
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
4 Stars to Good Fridays: Crystal Cove Holiday #7 by Dee Ellis.
We return to Crystal Cove once again in this 7th book about a romantic, sweet and charming town including its imperfect residents. Truly, I’d love to live in such a place. I’d like to believe that there is a Crystal Cove somewhere in this world.
This is Beckett and Eve’s story of how redemption is given in the form of true love. Beckett had lived a selfish life. He is tired of taking and is determined to give back. He especially wants to give back to the quaint and charming town that his family has stolen from in years past. Beckett decides the way to redeem his past greed is to not only become an active member of Crystal Cove’s church, but to act as a Deacon there.
Eve is niave and sweet. Her parents have kept her close to home and away from any temptations. I thought Eve was adorable. She may have been sweet and innocent but she was willing to take a chance on her attraction to Beckett. She wanted him even though she was afraid to defy her parents.
Good Fridays is a very short and sexy story about an imperfect man who finds love and redemption in the arms of a sweet smalltown girl. Only their road to happily-ever-after has a few bumps they will need to hurdle over first. I loved the last chapter and epilogue; it was heartwarming and satisfying in what I look for in a HEA.
This book can definitely be read in one sitting. It is short sweet and very sexy. I recommend that if you haven’t boarded the Crystal Cove train, you get your ticket ASAP! 😉
This is my honest and unbiased opinion. Thank you for taking the time to read it.
