Introducing book 1 in the Bishop Brothers series! A steamy new southern romance series by USA Today Bestselling author duo, Kennedy Fox!
Each book is a complete interconnected STANDALONE! HEA guaranteed!
Alex Bishop is your typical cowboy.
Charming, sexy, and wears a panty-melting smirk.
Working on the ranch helped build his solid eight-pack and smoking body. He’s every girl’s wet fantasy and he knows it too.
Alex doesn’t follow the rules of your typical playboy bachelor. After wining and dining his dates and giving them the best night of their lives, he always sends flowers and calls the next day—even if it’s to say, let’s just be friends. His mama taught him manners after all and his southern blood knows how to be a gentleman. Still, that isn’t enough to tame the wildest of the Bishop brothers.
River Lancaster has finally met the man of her dreams. Too bad after six months of romantic bliss, she finds out he’s married. With a broken heart and blind rage, she books herself a ticket to Key West, Florida. Tired of cheaters and liars, she’s set on escaping to forget he ever existed. Who needs a man when there’s an all-you-can-drink margarita bar, anyway? That’s what she tells herself until she bumps into the right guy who can make all those bad memories disappear.
Even if it’s only temporarily.
Two weeks on the beach is what they both need. No strings attached, no expectations, no broken hearts. Too bad the universe has other plans—one that’ll change the entire course of their lives in just nine short months.
**A contemporary romance with a little southern drama**
Not suitable for readers under 18 due to adult language and sexual content.
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
5 Stars! I loved this fun, flirty, sexy book! Taming Him by author duo Kennedy Fox.
Who doesn’t love a sexy cowboy? Not me, that’s for sure. There was a time when all I read over the course of a couple of months were cowboys.
In this story we not only have a sexy, rugged, gorgeous cowboy. Alex Bishop is charming, loyal, dependable and a complete gentleman (with a panty melting Texas drawl). Alex comes from a large family. They are loud and endearing but they are also loyal and dependable. His brothers each have different personalities and I can’t wait to read their books when available.
I want to say that Alex is a man whore but that might leave you to believe he is a pig. He is definitely not a pig. A stallion, for sure. 😉 Alex is not the relationship type. At least not yet anyway. Currently in his twenties, Alex feels there is time to settle down. But what he never realized is you don’t get to choose who you fall in love with or when. Alex’s friend Dylan (who I pray will have his own book as well) wins a vacation to the Florida Keys in which he can bring a date. Since Dylan is single, he invites Alex. For two whole weeks they plan to soak up the sun, relax and have some fun with the ladies. Little does Alex realize is that this vacation will change his entire life.
I just want to add here that I absolutely love Dylan! I want more Dylan!
River lets her bff Natalie talk her into tagging along on her and her boyfriend’s vacation. River is recently single after finding out her lying boyfriend is married. So she is looking forward to a getaway. She is looking forward to some fun. Looking forward to forget.
Because River is mistrusting of men, she and Alex don’t get off to a great start. But Alex is more than a little intrigued by River so he doesn’t give up. River doesn’t have a chance because who can resist a sexy, southern cowboy who is also a gentlemen? Alex’s persistence is endearing. He kept me smiling throughout.
So without giving away any details, when their two weeks in paradise are over they each go their own ways. But life has other plans then to keep them apart.
When Alex and River reunite, it isn’t all roses. Fortunately it doesn’t take too long before they are planning their lives together. There are a few obstacles they need to overcome first, but nothing too angsty. I absolutely loved this book! I loved all of Alex’s family, his best friend Dylan, and River’s friend Natalie. I believe the next book in this series will feature oldest brother Evan. We got a short snippet of that story in the end. Evan is the quiet, serious, and broody brother. I can’t wait to see him fall in love!
Taming Him had a steady pace, the writing flowed well and I quickly found myself devouring this book. If you are a fan of cowboy meets city girl, you’ll love this book. You will love it even if you’re not. Not too mention, I have yet to read a Kennedy Fox book that I didn’t love.
This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂
