Cress Stone thought she knew love once. Thought she held it in her hand, but it slipped right through her fingers. Now she doesn’t know if she believes in love at all. Who knows what love is, when you’ve never had but a glimpse of it?
Judge Walker knows what love is, because he had it with a sweet girl who stole his heart before he knew what she was doing. Life tore them apart, but he fought his way back to her. Now, they’ll both know what love is because he won’t let anything, life included, tear them apart again.
**WARNING: This is a short, HOT, second-chance romance. It’s a direct and to the point, panty melting tale of first love finding its way.**
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
5 Stars to Fighting For Her by Dee Ellis.
Are you looking for a short, sexy read with complex characters and intense emotions? How about a dirty talking, possessive alpha? Or maybe a love story that will break your heart? Fighting For Her is all of those things. I devoured this book in little over an hour and when I was finished I wanted more; wished it were longer. I wasn’t ready to say good bye to Cress and Judge.
Cress and Judge grew up together, neighbors in the same less than upscale part of a small town. They were best friends from childhood and when they grew into teenagers, their dynamic changed. I absolutely loved these two kindred spirits together. This book was angsty and emotional. Dark and dirty as well.
Something will happen that tears Cress and Judge from each other until they are reunited years later. While I understood the circumstances as to why they were tore apart, I felt the years between could have been prevented. You’ll have to read to understand my meaning. My feelings are this was what the author wanted. I’ll admit, the separation made their reunion so much sweeter. I don’t want to give away any details since this is a very short book and you’ll enjoy all the angst and emotion on your own.
The author has a talent for portraying the passion and emotions between her characters. The intimacy was smoking hot and erotic. I finished this book with a serious hangover but complete satisfaction that Cress and Judge belonged together. I believed it, I felt it. I loved it!
This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂
