Cowboy Up: Synopsis:
New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Harper Sloan returns with a passionate and breathless romance about the sparks that ignite when a cautious cowboy and a once-scorned woman open up to each other in the third installment of the Coming Home series.
As the eldest Davis, Clayton has always tried to lead by example. He takes his job as head of the family businesses seriously, making sure the farm and auto shop are running smoothly—along with keeping an eye on his brother and sister. For him, there’s a time and place to let go of the control he holds with an iron grip. And with the way he grew up, coupled with disastrous end to his last relationship, he’s just fine with his quiet, solitary life.
Most of the time.
What he hadn’t counted on was cute, quirky, shy bookstore owner, Caroline Michaels. She’s the proverbial woman next door—well, the next town over, that is. Caroline hasn’t lived an easy life, but after escaping an abusive ex, she’s finally living it for herself. The last thing she ever expected was a one-night stand with Clay Davis, a night she can’t stop thinking about.
So when she falls on hard times and Clay comes out of nowhere to her rescue, she realizes just how impossible it’ll be to stay away from him. Now all she has to do is convince him to live a little…
Will Clay be able to give up the reins and finally settle down? And, more importantly, will Caroline muster enough courage to lasso him up?

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
5 Stars to Cowboy Up (Coming Home Book 3) by Harper Sloan.
What a great book! A spectacular end to an amazing series. While I absolutely loved each book, this one is by far my favorite! I’ve never read a bad book by this author; she just keeps me entertained and engaged with each new book and I can’t wait to see what she releases next. I hope Harper will consider giving us more Cowboy romance. Her latest step into this trope just proves how talented she is as an author.
We already know from the first two books that Clay is the oldest of the Davis siblings. He is the protector. Loyal and sturdy. Clay is dependable and not afraid to do what is necessary to protect those he loves. I want to also mention this man is hot, hot, hot! We are talking sexy, alpha and swoon-worthy. Clay needs to be in control in every situation. While that could be overbearing, I didn’t think that of him at all. His need to be a step ahead of every situation only endeared him to me that much more. Truly, Clay Davis was a well written, very likable and swoon-worthy character.
When Clay meets Caroline for the first time, they connect immediately and spend an unforgettable night together. But then they went their separate ways. Neither was looking for a relationship having had burn the commitment bridge with past exes. However, their connection, chemistry and tension could not be ignored. So when they ran into each other for a second time, Clay was not letting her go.
This book has some suspense and violence. Those aspects only make this book better. In fact, that danger solidifies the love Clay and Caroline have for each other. I really liked Caroline. She was a strong, courageous woman despite what she went through in her past. I already told you how much I love Clay.
The last chapters of this book will have you biting your nails. It was amazing! I am so bummed that this was the last book in this series. At least we get to interact with the characters from the last two books. The Davis Family is loving and loyal and this book made me feel like I was part of it.
This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂
