Everything he offers makes it sound like he has a huge heart.

But he doesn’t.

He’s given me a great job and a place to stay, so why does he act so cold? So distant?

I’m sure he hates me… until the first time he kisses me.

After that, he’s a whole different man—someone who can’t get enough, who won’t stop touching me.

What I don’t know is that Cassius has a huge secret.

The Billionaire's Secret BabiesThe Billionaire’s Secret Babies by Penny Wylder

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Manila and Cassius…..

This was a charming, delightful and erotic story. I was enamored by this book from the beginning. Of course, I am always a sucker for a sexy hero with babies. So swoon worthy.

Manila has had enough of dating. Every man in her life has let her down. But Manila always wanted a family. As soon as she was in a good place, financially, she made an informed decision to be artificially inseminated and ended up having twins! Luca and Lucie were adorable!

A few months after the babies were born, Manila lost her job. It became nearly impossible to find another job that would fit in with her schedule. But then luck is on her side when Manila decided to place a ‘situation wanted’ add.

Casious is a very wealthy, sexy, gorgeous business man. He answers Manila’s add and hires her as his personal assistant. Manila would work in her own office in Cassius’ home. The most amazing part was that she could bring her babies to work with her.

At first Cassius was standoffish and guarded with Manila. But when it came to the babies, he was openhearted and generous with smiles. It took some time but Manila and Cassius fell into a relationship. It started as casual but quickly evolved to more.

I absolutely adored this sweet and sexy romance. Manila and Cassius deserved love and they longed to have that with each other. Manila wanted a man who was trustworthy and would accept her and her children. Cassius was happy to be that man; he longed for a family of his own.

There is a small bit of angst but nothing that doesn’t resolve quickly. But Cassius does have a secret. A big one! What will happen when all is revealed? Even though this book was a bit predictable, I still loved it. One more thing…I wished we had Cassius POV as well. I wanted to know him better and not being able to be in his head was a little disappointing and the reason for my 4.5 star rating instead of 5.

Bad Deeds (book three) – 8/8/17

“You make me remember I need to be good and right in my choices.”

“Do you ever question doing what is good and right?”

“There have been times when I felt like my hand was forced.”

“When you were a lawyer?”

“No,” I say. “I manipulated the law, as does every attorney, but I never broke it. I’m talking about when I’m with my family.”

“Did you go where they lead?”

“Not so far.”

“That sounds like you might.”

“I don’t want to be them.”

“You aren’t them. You don’t have to be them.”

“I know that,” I say. “But you just keep telling me so I don’t forget.” Her legs hit the bed frame and she grips my arms.

I lean into a kiss and she pulls back, her hand pressing on my chest. “Wait. Now it’s my turn to say talk to me. Are you okay?”

“Death happened. The one thing I can’t control. It’s not the night to push me to stop protecting you. Not tonight. Can you do that?”

“Yes. We can.”

“We,” I repeat, “and that word sounds as good on my tongue as I know you’re going to taste. I’m going to make love to you properly. The way I plan to many times in our future.” I reach down and untie her robe, letting it fall open; my fingers sliding underneath just far enough to tease her nipples. They pucker beneath my touch, and her lashes flutter, settling on her cheeks. “But when it’s over, I’m going to fuck you hard and fast again.”

I tug gently on her nipples and she bites her lips. “Look at me,” I order gently.

She opens her eyes, and there is desire in their depths, but there are shadows there too,. I do not think she intends for me to see doubt or uncertainty that wasn’t there before. That I do not like or wish to know ever again. I want it gone. Now. Tomorrow. Forever. I reach up and rip the silk tie from her robe, wrapping it around my hand, before I reach up and caress the robe off her shoulder, letting it tumble to the ground.

“Give me your hands,” I order, but it’s really a question: Does she still trust me?

She studies me for several beats, her eyes narrowing ever so slightly, and I do not know what she sees in mine, but she offers me her hands. I wrap the silk around her wrists then lean in close to her, my cheek against her cheek, my body touching her nowhere else. “Now you’re at my mercy.”

“Yes,” she agrees. “I am.”

“How do you feel about that?”

My lips curve with the answer that is every bit the combination of sweet sexy honesty I’ve come to expect from her. “I’m going to make you warmer.”

I go still with that question, which on the surface is innocent, but I wonder if it truly is or if it’s about those shadows in her eyes. “I promise,” I say. “And you know, I never—”

“Make a promise you don’t keep.”

“Exactly,” I say, and her reference to my previous words tells me that I am not the only one on a mission of trust, and I intend to deserve hers.

I bring my hands to just above her shoulders, letting them lightly touch her before beginning a slow caress downward. She makes a soft little sound that has my cock thickening and my blood running hot, but I won’t rush this. My lips follow, tracing a line down one of her arms, then the other. I lean and caress my lips over hers, a feather light touch that teases me, if not her.

I take her hands in mine, pressing them behind her head. “Hold them there, for me, so I can see all of you. Understand?”

“You intend to tease me incessantly,” she says, without so much as a hint of hesitation. “Yes. I understand.”

I wrap my arm around her waist and pull her naked body against me, my free hand on hers above her head, our mouths a breath apart. “I intend to lick every part of you, and then do it again, so yes. If that’s the definition of incessant teasing, then yes. I am going to tease you incessantly.” I close my mouth down on hers, my tongue licking into her mouth, a deep, hungry tasting I force myself to end far too quickly. “That was the beginning. Should I could continue?”

“Yes. Please.”

“Please,” I say. “I like that.”

Told in third person single perspective by heroine.

Standalone – Kindel edition:  18 pages

After all these years, Liam better be worth the wait.

Being the artsy band nerd in high school, Abby could only watch as her crush, Liam, barely noticed her. The football star hardly looked in her direction. Now in her 20s, the lust didn’t fade. If anything, it’s stronger. Maybe that’s why she’s still a virgin. Maybe that’s why she’s still waiting.

One night, fate thrusts her into Liam’s arms, and she’ll have to see if she has the guts to go for her first time.

(This explicit story is intended for adult readers only)

My Review:

The Virgin and the Firefighter

The Virgin and the Firefighter by Ava Sterling

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Virgin and the Firefighter is by author Ava Sterling
Cover: 3.5

I would loosely describe this as romantic. There was no courting, no pursuing, no build of a relationship. I’m not even sure it ended in a relationship. I would say this has a HFN ending.

That said, I am rating this little novelette for exactly what it is; a short, sexy, erotic story.

Abby and Liam knew each other from high school. Abby always had a crush on Liam but was too intimidated to pursue it. Years later she still believes him out of her league. Unfortunately that doesn’t diminish her crush at all. Abby is still a virgin at 28 years old. There was never anyone she wanted to give her virginity to, except Liam. When a friend literally pushes her toward Liam one night at a local bar, she is determined to find her courage.

Liam was a great character even though there is little back story. But because of his words and actions with Abby I liked him immediately. Liam not only liked Abby, he respected her too. I thought he was sweet and at the same time, sexy.

I enjoyed this cute little story that I wish was longer. If your looking for a super short, super sexy story, you can read The Virgin and the Firefighter in about a half hour, more or less.

4 stars from me!

DELUDEDELUDE by Jacob Chance

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Release Date: March 2, 2017
Cover: 5

Holy wow! Jacob Chance has made me fall in love with the monster!

“Soon there will be no secrets between us.”

And now…there are no more.

Zach and Lana…..
I don’t even know where to start with this review. I waited anxiously for this book and was not disappointed!

Delude features the suspenseful love story of Zach and Lana. Zach is the ‘bad guy’ previously featured in Quake, Quiver, & Delve. Delude can be read as a standalone but you will appreciate the author’s talent even more if you read those previous novels first. Or at least read them after if you don’t want to wait. You won’t be sorry. I’ll admit I was very curious and extremely excited to read where the author was taking us with Zach. He was not a good guy. How could he be redeemed? I won’t get into any specifics so you can enjoy their journey on your own.

As I was saying, I didn’t have a clue how this would play out; how could Zach be turned into a redeemable character after everything he has done and make us believe it, and in him? When Zach eyes Lana for the first time, something changes in him; he is immediately smitten. Zach wants Lana badly, in every way. But what shocked him the most is that he realizes he wants her love as well. That is a new emotion for Zach and the catalyst of his story.

Lana does not know who Zach is when she meets him. But she is attracted to him. He treats her like she is something ‘precious.’ His charm is endearing. I’ll tell you, knowing the type of man Zach is/was had me constantly waiting for the proverbial ‘shoe’ to drop.

Their relationship builds slowly over time and when they are finally intimate, it was erotic and passionate. Lana has scars from her past, secrets that unravel slowly. Lana’s past had me guessing. When it was finally revealed, I was blown away.

As well as Lana’s past, we get bits and pieces of Zach’s as well. Knowing Zach’s backstory went a long way in helping me understand him. I loved him. His story was heartbreaking as well.

Zach and Lana were perfect for each other. The conclusion of this book was done well. It was believable. Truthfully, I don’t think it could have gone any other way otherwise we’d be rolling our eyes.

It was perfect!

I completely enjoyed every page of this book!

Love A Boss (Boss Duet Book Two)Love A Boss by Logan Chance

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love A Boss (Like A Boss #2) is by author Logan Chance.

Theo and Penny…..

Since book one, Like A Boss ended in a cliffhanger, I quickly devoured this one. I was dying to know what happened to cause that gut-clenching ending.

Theo and Penny’s story picked up where it left us on the cliff. I admit, I hated Penny at that moment. Little by little we get the pieces to the puzzle as their relationship slowly got put back together. Theo was in a bad place for a while and not once did I ever blame him for his behavior. My heart hurt for him.

Just like the previous book, this one had all the ‘feels’ as well. A perfect emotional roller coaster.

We do know from the first book that Penny’s father wanted to control her (for reasons we will soon find out). He was a greedy, selfish, inconsiderate piece of “you-know-what” that wanted to get his hands on Lopa, Theo’s bar. Penny’s father manipulated and blackmailed until he got his desired results. Now the dynamic between Theo and Penny has changed in more ways than one. Until we got all the pieces of the puzzle, I tried not to hate Penny, keeping an open mind. Luckily the author did not make us wait very long.

The suspense in this book was strong. There was some violence and twists that kept me guessing and engrossed. There was quite a bit going on giving us more depth to the characters and complexity to the unfolding drama. That said, the chemistry between Theo and Penny was stronger than ever since their hearts got involved. The smoldering intimacy between them was off-the-charts-sexy and
passionate. ‘Intense’ is another word I would use to describe their relationship.

I was so damn happy with the conclusion! And Penny was great with what she did. I was so proud of her! If I had one complaint it would be that I think Dex deserved another’date’ with karma. He got off too easy in my opinion.

The epilogue was fantastic! Theo and Penny got their HEA and more. I am very much looking forward to reading more by this author.

Like A Boss (Like A Boss #1) 2 book series is by author Logan Chance.

Theo and Penny…..
Like A Boss is part of a two book series which ends in a cliffhanger. I am not a fan of cliffhangers but I was lucky than when I read this book, Book 2 Love A Boss was available and waiting on my Kindle.

This novel had all the “feels” I look for in the perfect book. There was a prominent relationship between love and hate. There is a lot of passion and just as much sexual tension. We’re talking erotic levels! There are also emotions of fear, worry, humor and sadness. But thank the lord above (and Logan Chance) there will be a happily ever after. BUT not until book two.

Circumstances for Theo and Penny got ‘off’ pretty quickly but then it stalled for a bit. They were separated by fate and brought together the same way. Only their reunion is not what you would expect; it was tense. That said I was constantly laughing. 🙂

The trope of boss and employee relationship was not a typical one in this novel. Where some may see it as frustrating; I was completely entertained. I loved the slow relationship build between Theo and Penny. Both were ‘A’ personality characters with sass and wit. Let’s not forget their chemistry…it was insanely hot.

The entire development of their relationship had me engrossed and turning pages steadily. As individual characters, I liked Theo more. He was sexy, arrogant but he was also confident and a dirty talking’ sex devil. Penny was also a confident character however her attitude at times caused me to find her a bit annoying and superior. But I still liked her (most of the time).

There is a build of suspense which really doesn’t come into play until the next book but the author did a great job of keeping me focused and curious. I really did love this book!

One more plus I’d like to mention was the setting. I did feel like I was in Miami. Having been there before I could easily picture everything. It was realistic and fed my imagination in a positive way, allowing me to enjoy this book that much more.

A Cowboy's Temptation (Frontier, Montana, #2)A Cowboy’s Temptation by Michelle Beattie

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

*I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this novel from Tule Publishing via Net Galley*

Scott Taylor and Katie Matthews…..

If you are a fan of the Montana Born novels from Tule Publishing; specifically those set in Marietta, you will love this historical romance. A Cowboy’s Temptation takes us back to the beginning of our favorite Montana town. Marietta, Montana territory 1884.

When I first started reading romance novels back in the eighties, I started with historical. For some reason, I just didn’t like contemporary romances back then. Of course that is no longer the case. I love most genres of romance nowadays. However, I admit I haven’t read many historical romances in the past few years. So A Cowboy’s Temptation is the first western historical I have read in a long time. That said, I loved i! I loved it so much for so many reasons.

Scott Taylor is a cowboy on a cattle/horse ranch. Not only does he work on the ranch, he recently become a partner and owns an equal share. All Scott’s dreams are slowly coming true. Except for one. Falling in love. And he has no hopes of that happening. Scott’s past is tainted and so sad. He believes he doesn’t deserve a wife even though he longs for that and a family. But things change real fast. And unfortunately not how Scott envisioned it.

Katie Matthews is on her way to Montana territory to start a new life and hopefully mend a strained relationship with her older sister, Jillian. Jillian and her husband are all the family Katie has now. On the way to Montana, Katie’s stagecoach is robbed and all her money stolen. That robbery begins a chain of events that not only change her life but end up being the best thing that could have happened.

Scott and Katie start of being attracted to each other right away. Of course Scott keeps a respectable distance, at first, but that changes pretty quickly. The way their relationship starts off is nothing less than passionate but then escalates very fast to stress, angst and anger. I loved how their story developed. I loved both Scott and Katie as characters. Of course they both frustrated me at times with their stubbornness, especially Scott. He handled the situation with Katie, right from the start, poorly. But Scott had past fears he had to deal with. I will say his past gutted me. Completely.

Although Katie came to Montana to start over, it was Scott who needed love and healing the most. I’m so glad he found that in Katie.

The first book in this series, A Rancher’s Surrender, which I haven’t read yet>/b> features the story of Katie’s sister, Jillian and her hero, Wade. I want to go back and read that before book three comes out, A Sheriff’s Passion which will feature Shane and Silver. They were all secondary characters in Katie and Scott’s story. Can’t wait to read more.
