Genres: Romance, Adult, Erotica
Told in dual POVs
A brand new standalone romance from NYT Bestselling author Lauren Blakely
Let me count the ways why falling into forbidden love is not my wisest move…
1. She works with me every single day.
Did I mention she’s gorgeous, sweet, kind and smart?
2. She works in my home.
Playing with my five-year-old daughter. Teaching my little girl. Cooking for my princess. Which means…
3. She’s the nanny.
And that makes her completely off-limits…But it doesn’t stop me from wanting her. All of her.
The other nannies in this city don’t call him The Sexy One for nothing. My boss, the amazingly wonderful single father to the girl I take care of every day is ridiculously hot, like movie star levels with those arms, and those eyes, and that body. Not to mention, the way he dotes on his little girl melts me all over. But what really makes my knees weak are the times when his gaze lingers on me. In secret. When no one else is around.
I can’t risk my job for a chance at something more…can I? But I don’t know how to resist him much longer either…
With all the heat, heart and humor readers have come to expect, this newest Lauren Blakely standalone will make you laugh, swoon and feel like you’re falling in love!
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
“The Sexy One” by author Lauren Blakely.
My Rating: 5 Stars
Although this novel is a standalone we get reacquainted with some of the characters from Lauren’s romantic comedy series in which we have previously met the H/h from “The Sexy One.” I have to say I am a huge fan of the previous novels which are written in the hero POV. Even though this wonderful addition is told by both H/h, I didn’t love it any less. In fact it is one of my favorites.
Simon and Abby…..
I loved this novel so much! Sadly it wasn’t very long and I read it very quickly, however the build of sexual tension between these two was an excruciatingly slow burn. The chemistry between Simon and Abby was sizzling hot and when they finally gave in to their lust, it was explosive. Even their very first kiss was scorching. Damn, I wanted to be Abby. Hot…hot…hot!
It was fun getting to know Simon and Abby. Their relationship is described as the “boss and the nanny” trope. Individually, they both tried to keep the relationship professional. Neither would cross the line making it personal. Abby worried she would lose her job, which she loved. Simon worried he’d lose the best nanny.
Simon is an amazing father. His five year old daughter Hayden was precious. A scene stealer for sure. Simon is not only a wonderful dad, he is known among the nanny community as the sexy one. Abby was a sweetheart. I liked her very much. She had strong character and morals. She was professional and intelligent and absolutely amazing with Hayden. Hayden loved Abby as well. It was easy for Simon to fall in love with her. She was beautiful and perfect. And perfect with Hayden.
This was definitely one of my 5 star favorites from Lauren Blakely. I know as she continues to add to these related stories we’ll get to revisit with Simon and Abby as well as all the other amazing characters she has introduced us to. And I definitely can’t wait for the next books.
Simon is my newest “book boyfriend.”
