The Blurb:

He might growl, but she’s not afraid to bite.

She’s mine. All mine.

And when a rival clan thinks to use her to force his paw, he’ll show them why you never piss off a Kodiak, or threaten what’s his.

Tammy is convinced men are all scum, even gorgeous ones like Reid Carver. She knows he’s hiding something. Something big. She just never expected a real freaking bear hid underneath all those muscles. But when the truth comes out and he tries to scare her off with a roar, she shows him not just bears have bite

My Review:

Kodiak's Claim (Kodiak Point, #1)Kodiak’s Claim by Eve Langlais

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4.5 Stars! to “Kodiak’s Claim” Kodiak Point #1 by Eve Langlais. This is the first in this series and the first book I read by this author.

I enjoyed this book even though it read a bit slow at first while the author was setting up the story. When the pace picked up I really got into it! Not only was I enjoying the romance aspect, I found myself very curious to find out who or what was causing all the trouble. The author did a good job building the mystery and suspense. Although this novel can be read as a standalone, has an HEA, and the trouble the H/h find themselves in has a happy resolution, the villain is still at large. With each new book in the series, the suspense continues to build and unfold with new mystery and drama.

The introduction to the series tells the story of the town’s alpha, bear shifter Reid Carver and the curvy, beautiful human who turns his structured world on its axis.

Reid is a Kodiak bear shifter and the alpha of his town of shifters and not a man you want to piss off. Reid is also the boss of the shipping company that financially keeps the small, secluded Alaskan town thriving. But recently there has been trouble; the company trucks are being hijacked en route and the drivers are missing. In order to make up the losses, Reid files insurance claims.

Tammy is the insurance adjuster sent to Kodiak Point to investigate the suspicious thefts of Reid’s trucks. Of course she is not thrilled about having to travel to the isolated Alaskan town, nor is Reid thrilled at having her unexpectedly show up to investigate.

Although Reid is instantly attracted and protective of Tammy, he doesn’t immediately act on it. There are too many secrets he has to keep…one that’s beary big! 🙂

Until danger forces Reid to reveal…

There are six books in this series, including a Christmas novella that I can’t wait to read.

Up next…”Outfoxed By Love.”
